For several months I was contemplating on taking a waxing course so I can have an extra certification under my belt and also learn something I can use on myself and others. After researching several schools and prices I decided to enroll in this school even thou I would have to travel from Nassau County I said "What the heck". Even thou the Waxing class was pricey I don"t regret it. This has nothing to do with the reviews of this school, but to the amazing teacher I had Ms. Nastassia. Only real reason for writing this review is to give credit where credit is given. For the past couple of months I have learned not just how to wax a whole body, but have memorized every layer of the skin and its functions without skipping a beat. Ms. N took the time to explain with the textbook and her power points the necessity of learning them, not just to pass our state test but to have knowledge that we can share with our future clients. She taught us how to properly wax our client without ripping the skin and also the need to use the proper customer service verbiage so our clients not just come back and refer others but also feel comfortable with their services. Ms. N took the time to explain every detail on how to properly display our equipment and why we need to take our training serious. She at no time was a "Yea yea" teacher brushing us off if she didn't want to be bothered with our question. Ms. N test challenged what you learned but were also fair. So if your looking for a teacher that will take the time to teach you what you need to learn I assure you that in this school you will find the right one, take any of her courses and she will guide you in the right direction. Annoyance calls multiple times a day from this number. I've asked to be taken off the call list several times. They leave weird psychotic sounding messages. When I called back again today, to ask them to stop calling, the rep smugly said "we're allowed to call you because you asked about our school". It's like they enjoy harassing people. I did leave my contact info back in MAY, spoke with someone at the school, and it sounded like a scam, so I said I wasn't interested. Then after they called me 5 times in one day, I asked to be taken off the call list. The calls have continued for over five months now. At what point does it become unlikely that you're going to change someone's mind about attending their school? After the 3rd call? The 20th call? I blocked their number but the phone carrier could not block them leaving me creepy voice mails. I'm guessing that any experience as a student at the school will be similar. read more

A friend of mine is attending school here to become an esthetician, she needed people for facials and shoulder neck massages. I had a relaxing time, I entered the building filled out the paperwork and placed my upper attire in a basket along with my other belongings. Very quiet with soothing music playing in the background. The massage and massage was so good I fell asleep. My skin had this glow and she added something to my lips that made my lips baby soft. The only downside is parking in this area. read more

I had an appointment for an orientation they were extremely rude weren't helpful and acted like they had better things to do than show me around !!! So i walked out!!! the place is a complete disaster everything's unorganized and no one seems to know what they. are doing . all of the classrooms are completely a mess and an environment that no one can learn in ! Don't waste your time or your money they're just making money off of this location being in the city there's no reason to go to this place it's pretty obvious the second you walk in. This Was the most unprofessional rude experience I have ever dealt with in this kind of situation. They didn't even get my name when I told them I had an appointment because they said they were busy and told me that they had better things to do and that they would be with me later. I had an appointment and went out of my way and rescheduled my entire day to show up as i live two hours away . they didn't even want to talk to me when I walked in. Do not waste your money here. The teachers and stuff are awful no support was given and teachers and staff favored certain students. Ms Ann gave Hours to a student in exchange for a Microdermabrasion session, everytime the student came late she will fill in the missing hours.. lets not mention the bed bug situation.. This school was ridiculous. I do not recommend it to anyone even with the incentive that they offered us to recommend others. The staff is rude and irresponsible. My full social security number was sent to the wrong address with all my personal information on it. The graduation ceremony was held in a filthy file room, it was the most embarrassing event that my family had ever witnessed including a home made cake and off brand soda served as refreshments. The staff also used the same washer designated for face towels only for their personal laundry as underwear and clothes were often found in there, extremely unsanitary. After working as a nurse for several years in a hospital, and then going through a tragic event of losing my husband to cancer..I needed a game changer and fast. I found atelier online and said...yes this is it! I can still be medical but use it in another way....esthetics!!!! this place is a goddamn mess. i've been dying to write a review for a while (graduated months ago) i'd love to start my review by saying this place was infested with bed bugs for some time, students were getting bit all over and one student even ended up bringing bed bugs to her home and when she complained they told her she could have gotten bed bugs anywhere else there's no proof that the school she goes to 5days a week gave them to her. also be prepared for favoritism (ms elise), i wasn't allowed to take the Brazilian wax course because another student was going to be my model even though two other students taking that course had other students as models and there was no problem for them to take the course. don't take the extra course by the way, wherever you decide to work they will teach you how to do whatever course they tell you that you need to know, every place has different machines so even if you know how to do it you will still get trained by your boss on how to use their machine. i also want to mention that i paid for the chemical peel course and a few days before i changed my mind and asked for a refund and they told me i can't get a refund because i already took up a seat and they can't replace it now which i totally would understand if the course was booked up but with 5 extra seats remaining it's not like i was taking up a seat from someone who wanted to take the course but wasn't able to because it was booked but i threw a fit of course because i was not going to lose $400 to learn how to put something on a face and 5mins after take it off with toner, they offered to give me half back but i made sure i got my full 400 back. oh and regina also decided to tell me that she hopes when i own a business someone does that to me pays for something and demands a refund and she hopes it ruins my business and then she proceeds to say "you could lie all you want but there is a higher being watching" while pointing up to the ceiling, and rolling her eyes at me every time she saw me after that. also be prepared to waste a few thousand on the worst education when they're just going to make you clean the place and do laundry. who the F pays for a school and the teachers make them do the school laundry??? and the graduation omg this was the most embarrassing thing i have ever been to, very very stupid of my to invite my sisters and boyfriend to this humiliating event which was thrown in one of the two dirty classrooms with probably the smallest cake you've ever seen (could serve about 6 people) even though about 20 students graduated and all brought family members. One of the best advance courses you could take at Atelier Esthetique would be Mrs. J's Advanced Chemical Peel class. Mrs. J is highly knowledgeable and is very diligent and attentive towards her students. She is a phenomenal teacher who creates a fun and safe environment that enables her students to give effective peels which leaves each student walking out feeling confident. I have just graduated Atelier Esthetique! I relocated from Florida just to attend AE. I wanted the best and I truly feel that I have received it. I paid for my schooling with my own funds and felt confident doing so because I knew I was attending a first rate esthetics program. I also would like to add that the machines used here are top of the line, please research Equipro and Silhouettone facial machines. The staff is top notch with more wisdom that I could have ever imagined receiving. I not only had wonderful instructors, I had mentors. Ms. Hansen is kind and approachable, and a perfect example of what an empowered, strong business woman should be. The only thing these instructors have ever asked for is to please follow directions and show respect for yourself and the others trying to learn around you. Education is a journey and you get out what you put in. I could not recommend any other school other than AE. Don't come here for a treatment. I signed up for eyelash extensions and received a confirmation text from a welcoming person with directions on how to get upstairs and everything, and was told to please not be late. I waited FORTY FIVE minutes before finally leaving. I asked several times how much longer the wait would be and I was told 5 more minutes each time. At this particular class, there were about 20 people waiting for the service and only about 10 technicians so I assume the overbooked (although they hadn't taken ANYONE before I finally left). I understand it is a free service, but it is extremely rude and unprofessional to make the models wait more than 15 minutes. The techs were being trained from what I could hear right before the class. Why couldn't that be scheduled beforehand? I was extremely annoyed, as you could imagine. read more

I attended Atelier Esthetique in 2017 to pursue my dream in becoming a successful esthetician. I knew from day one I was more interested in the advanced certification courses and luckily Atelier has a lot of different options to choose from. The overall 'appearance' may not be out of this world but the knowledge I have gained trumps any over the top building. You need your foundation to be strong and to believe in yourself to succeed and without the teachers I had, I wouldn't have half the knowledge I do today. The teachers are underrated. Ms. S, Ms. J, Ms. Kyra and Ms. Karen are some of the most knowledgeable, helpful, inspiring group of woman with all different specialities and beliefs. They legitimately put their blood, sweat, passion, love and tears into every ounce of their students. They truly make you a better you. In addition, you have Regina and Angie who are always there to help you, guide and teach you and give advice. My experience overall was an amazing journey and I ended up landing my dream job-Regina was just as excited and supportive as my family was! That's what Atelier is, a family unit. You spend 5 days a week, 9-5 with these people who leave a mark on you when you leave. I also deal with some health issues and not once was I ever belittled, treated differently or told I could not succeed. Instead I was fully supported and pushed to be my best in every task I faced.
