Wifey ordered a pastry called Delicia do Convento and I had an Encharcada which is another egg custard recipe. Both were, as expected, amazing. The Portuguese really know how to do pastries. While we saw an amazing and really old monastery in Alcobaça, the half-hour we spent chatting, drinking espresso and tasting pastries was pretty awesome. Pastelaria Alcoa is definitely a place to stop!

Perfect texture, not too sweet...oh my.. We ordered coconut bread at several other places in other towns, but not one of them measured up to the one from here.
