Since my last review, I figured it was overdue for an update from my overly positive review. I wish…read morethe current status of my review to reflect radiance as it's still a hometown mom and pop store that despite the expansions, operates and acts like a corner mom and pop store. They may err on the side of safety and reliability a little too much. Since my last review, they have replaced their very skimpy organic section to appeal to a skimpy Latin section, mostly bare bones and inexpensive Goya products that are about as bittersweet nostalgia to working poor Latinos as boxed Jiffy cornbread would be bittersweet to the mostly Caucasian population that serves the area. Some can argue with sentimentality this move could even be racist, but I would not take it quite that far as I think they were trying to appeal to a demographic who will buy while working with a certain budget allowance even if that means bare bone staples and possibly shopping at a nearby competitor grocer to pick up the rest of the slack. Also, since my last review, Betty has reposed. It is nice to see some veteran, reliable hands here that are knowledgeable, kind and helpful of their stock and within the realm of customer service. The newer hands that get hired could stand to use a refresher in this training, or learning more from the veteran hands. Their lack of enthusiasm and sense of customer service does not set the bar high enough. There was also newer hands who if you have them friended on Facebook, will criticize their regular customers who have to pay for their groceries with SNAP. Everyone is full aware of the economical conditions in the area and should not be surprised of the amount of earnest individuals who need snap access given the rising cost of living and vast majority on fixed incomes. Based on how these newer hands mouth off on their Facebook profile, they are attempting to lump in these earnest individuals in with a few or several isolated incidents of fraud that don't speak for the whole lot of people. And I am aware Facebook is a form of free speech, but a cashier working with customer service, is a professional and has a reputation to serve. I feel a long-standing mom and pop shop like Boyer's should not never reward employees who aren't doing their due diligence to represent the work experience they're trying to gain much less company image of what they represent. Not much else to chew over externals, as they do their best to keep aisles clean, shelves stocked with the basic necessities at reasonable prices. Plenty of parking with handicapped accessibility as well. For your basics, this is your go-to!

Has gone down hill. Staff is terrible at most stores. They refuse to say hello. They're not nice or…read morehelpful. They don't know anything about their products.
