I had brought her blanket and toys and treats as I wasn't sure how long we would be there so she was very comfortable. The entire thing took about two hours which was much faster than I expected.

Upon arrival all her vitals were fine and lungs were clear as stated in their own assessment. I explained to Dr. Julia Klinzmann that I was here for a second opinion as she was just seen by her doctor had X-rays of her lungs which were clear and a echo cardiogram which showed she was in the early stages of Mitral Valve Disease the doctor put her on a medication and diet and said that she could live for many years on this medication and a low sodium diet so essentially my visit was to just get a second opinion on her cough and then establish a relationship with Dr. Kane who I heard was a good heart doctor. Well my dog ended up DEAD she was basically killed at the hands and decision of Dr. Julia Klinzmann. She recommended an X-ray even after me telling her that she just had one done days prior and it was clear, she recommended blood work even through I told her she just had it done and I told her everything was normal and I will get everything over to her tomorrow. I told Dr. Julia Klinzmann that my dog is very nervous at the vet made it very clear that she didn't like going to the vet and as a doctor seeing a patient with any type of cardiac condition she should have known that it's extremely important to not cause them stress and not do anything that isn't necessary as this clearly wasn't because when I brought her in, she was not in distress and all her vitals were fine. While I waited in the waiting room for hours and I went up and checked several times what was taking so long as I know her just being in a cage around other dogs could be causing stress. I finally get called into a room and Dr. Julia Klinzmann comes in and tells me that my dog went into respiratory distress after being handled by the technician durning x-ray no one came out and told me this was happening no one came and got me to calm my dog down they injected her with several medications without my consent and after they gave her that she declined even more rapidly. I had no idea that my poor sweet dog was locked in a cage alone panicking and no one monitoring her I was there I could of held her and calmed her down instead they left her in the cage then cause even more stress trying to do blood work and X-ray her which wasn't even necessary. I have the image implanted in my head of my poor dog in an oxygen tank lifeless heavily medicated, could hardly breathe because this doctor failed her!! She saw the way she was when she arrived the records show it she was not in distress the first technician that triaged her said that she was stable and all vitals were fine we could leave if I didn't want to see the doctor and I wish I ran out the door then. Dr. Klinzmann knows she made a mistake by not monitoring my dog knowing she was a cardiac patient and me telling her that she's nervous at the vet she caused my dogs death. I also learned that she's an intern she told me that they were short staffed and had the audacity to have me pay a $5100 bill for ultimately killing my dog. Her presentation to me explaining all this showed guilt. She knows what she did. She knows they work on commission and this bloodwork and x-ray and bloodwork was not necessary, but the greed for money took my dog's life and that's something I will never get over. It won't stop here I will fight and talk to as many people as I can to get justice for the negligence, the inhumane treatment that my dog endured in that hospital. She died all alone without her family, and this was a dog that was the sweetest, gentle list, loving dog I ever had. She was never sick a day in her life up until this just recent diagnosis which was only at the beginning stages this place is disgusting and should be shut down. I have talked to lawyers. I have talked to the Rhode Island licensing veterinary board and I will continue to search and spread awareness about this disgusting establishment. The people that work here are heartless, have no compassion and no empathy. It's all about the mighty dollar. After I noticed his urinary issues, Dr. Young told me that his urinalysis showed no crystals. As his symptoms worsened, I then rushed him to Ocean State, where I learned he was actually suffering from crystals that had developed into bladder stones. I returned to West Shore to discuss surgery, but the surgeon initially suggested that we wait. I explained that I was under the impression he could become impacted at any moment, which could be life-threatening, and she confirmed that my understanding was correct. I told her that, in my eyes, waiting wasn't going to help. He was essentially a ticking time bomb. She appeared reluctant to move forward with surgery and seemed frustrated by my insistence, but eventually agreed to schedule it. Just hours after dropping him off for surgery, I received a call from that same surgeon, who had initially been reluctant to move forward with the procedure, telling me that an ultrasound showed his bladder stones had "dissolved" and surgery was no longer necessary. Despite this, my cat continued to decline. Thankfully, another surgeon took his condition seriously and performed surgery, discovering that the bladder stones were still there. They had simply become difficult to see on imaging because they had become translucent. This experience caused unnecessary suffering and, most importantly, put my cat's life at risk. After trusting this practice for years, I am deeply disappointed in the care and medical judgment he received, and I cannot recommend this clinic.

The stars that I am giving here are strictly for the nurses and general staff, who from my experience have always been lovely and kind to my sweet baby and another pet before that. The actual veterinarians that have been on staff in recent years need a major adjustment in their human bedside manner. Last year, my cat had a dental procedure, where after dropping her off and just before going under the doctor on at the time felt it necessary to call and repeatedly tell me she felt there was a solid chance she could die under anesthesia. Said doctor post procedure told me she did "surprisingly well." I'm already paying an entire mortgage payment and clearly worried sick, what an insensitive choice of words. This year, she developed a respiratory infection and after a very expensive battery of tests did not improve on her own. Dr Maury was consistently difficult to get ahold of to get test results and again after that to get antibiotics, and basically only did the latter because I showed up there and sat in an exam room and had to stress that I wouldn't leave without antibiotics. He has even more recently than that, never returned further calls about approving a treatment for severe constipation brought on by the antibiotics and continued up until her passing. Meanwhile it's abundantly clear that private equity has its greasy hooks in at this practice as I get constant medication marketing emails. She was a cat, not a Honda Civic - at least car dealerships have the courtesy of calling me back. My dog always got great treatment here so I was happy to change my cat over from City Kitty at the time. I have no idea what happened since.
