Helping Hands Landscaping - Review…read more I had Helping Hands do some work on my property last year in Magalia and were impressed then--but they've seriously stepped up their game! I am an out-of-state owner so good communication was imperative. He kept me updated on the project and his prices were very competitive. I received before and after pictures so I was assured that the work done met all of the POA requirements. They've upgraded their equipment in a big way, now bringing in one of the largest skid steers on the market with attachments like a mower, grapple, and a powerful masticator/mulcher. It's clear they're invested in doing top-quality, efficient work. Their services have expanded too--they now offer everything from defensible space clearing and stump grinding to weedeating, mowing, heavy brush clearing, and downed tree removal. Having a water trailer on-site is a huge plus, especially for fire safety, and gives extra peace of mind. They're licensed, insured, and committed to doing the job right. If you're looking for professional, heavy-duty landscaping or fire-safe land clearing, Helping Hands is the team to call. Highly recommended! Contact Jon at 323-839-8949 jonathonschaffer80@gmail.com

They suggested turning it into a little play alcove for my girls and I was totally on board with that. They did a great job. It looks perfectly professional, from the trim, to the paint, to the electrical work. The wall texturing is what really impressed me. It was a perfect match for the texture already on the wall. The price was also very fair. I will definitely be calling them again for future jobs.

They have done repair work including roofing, installing ovens, installing new doors, laying new flooring, creating a wonderful new entryway for our home, plumbing, fencing, and a whole lot more. I wouldn't ever hesitate to recommend their services. One caveat is that they are always in high demand so the wait times can be longer than some may like. I always wait because I know it will be done better than right the first time.

So....here we go I phoned Eugene from ACME Handyman Service in Paradise , CA and left a message to call back. He called back and we eventually spoke the first day. He said he would be by that evening around 5:30 or 6. He cancelled before the appt time and rescheduled for the following day between 4 to 4:30. I texted that day to confirm because he was late and he said he ran into a problem at his current job. He rescheduled for Friday between 12 and 12:30. I texted on Friday morning to confirm and he never replied and was ultimately a no show. Extremely unprofessional and would not recommend to anyone.

Every neighbor that walked by commented on how lovely the new fence looked. His estimate was spot on and he made us aware of any concerns he had along the way. For example the gate screws were not the correct kind or placed correctly and he changed them so the gate is now very secure. He was willing to seal the fence so it doesn't warp in the sun and heat. His estimate came in much lower than any of the other estimates we received and his work was stellar.

I incorrectly assumed the hourly rate would fall within the parameters of a reasonable rate for an unlicensed handyman. Our bill for 15 hours of work was nearly $2,000 (minus some materials and small trailer rental) with a fixed hourly rate of $130 per hour. Although I appreciate George helping us out with our list of miscellaneous handyman items, we would not have proceeded with the work had we known that the hourly rate was so high.
