Anyone considering switching to AT&T wireless? Let me just tell you DON'T do it!
We switched back in July 2020. They had some great deals. We traded in an iPhone 7 Plus and an iPhone 8 both in excellent working condition. We also ported in our existing phone numbers for a total of $1,000 in bill credits per line which would make my new phone free and Jacob's phone $5 per month. We were told it would take 2-3 billing cycles for the credits to apply so we waited and waited.
We started attempting to get this issue resolved in October 2020 first through the Henderson AT&T store (where we signed up, purchased and traded in our old phones) where we're told they could do a force payment of credits on our account by their regional manager. After a month and another billing cycle...nothing. Jacob starts calling the AT&T call center where the reps/agents pull all our our information and each time they say that they can see where we are eligible for the credits and they'll open a "case" for us. I've lost track at this point how many of these so called "cases" have been opened because none have been resolved. First they tell you, it'll be resolved in 3-7 business days then it was 14 and as of last night they told him they didn't have an estimated timeframe for him. Jacob has notes from each call he has made and has kept track of every agent he has talked to. Everyone wants to give us the runaround and no one wants to make it right. At this point AT&T stole two working iPhones from us and we are locked into a 30 month contract with them now.
Just attempted to chat with them and was transferred to a supervisor, Shane, that after 30 minutes of waiting for a response from him he quickly told me they have no access from the billing dept and gave me an 800 number to call and ended the chat before I could even respond.
I'd rather do business with a used car salesman than work with AT&T.
Edited to add that I verified the trade in amount on our old iPhones on AT&T's website before going to the store. I also verified via AT&T chat that the offers were available online as well as in the store. I also called the store and verified the offers before we drove all the way over to Henderson to make the switch. read more
