Liars and thieves, stay away! Upgraded my phone at this store and the rep offered me a 'special deal' on the iPad when I upgrade my phone. A new 32G iPad with WiFi + Cellular that normally cost $459 for only $99 one time + $10/ month (for the line) and I can cancel after 6 month. Simple math this is $160 for an iPad that cost $459. Not bad, right? So the store already activated my iPad with the new line and only then when I was asked to sign a contract, I asked to see where it says that I can cancel after 6 month. I was told to just 'trust' the store associate. Since I wanted to see it in writing they called the store owner (or the manager) who explained to me that there will be an early termination fee of $160 if I cancel after 6 month. I didn't sign the contract but I was already charged an activation fee for the iPad. They tried to convince me to just keep the iPad and that they'll make changes to my account so my bill will be reduced by $10/ month and everything will be fine. When I asked what changes exactly will be made to
My account they didn't give a straight answer and it smelled shady. I wanted to walk away already but already transferred to the new phone and charged the activation fee. The store called AT&T, asked them to waive the activation fee, and promised me
That I will not be charged for it. Guess what? Not only I didn't get an iPad but I was also charged the activation fee. When I called customer services they said I need to speak to the store. I called the store, they took my number, said they'll call back, and never did. This wasn't a human error or a mistake, this was a planned scam that most people fall for and don't have the time to deal with it later. That's exactly how they do it. I wish someone warned me earlier. read more
