Unfortunately, I'm no longer a patient at Stratford Dental Care because I moved to NYC, but Dr…read more Reinaldo (I call him by his first name) is the BEST dentist I've ever been to. I was an active patient of his for over 8 years. For a while I was commuting from NYC to CT just to see him because I could not find in NYC the same level of service, expertise and professionalism that I find at Stratford Dental Care. Reinaldo is extremely knowledgeable, and very passionate about his job. He's extra cautious about all procedures, and truly ensures that one is comfortable in his office. The staff at Stratford Dental Care is exceptional. You'll receive warm and friendly smiles as soon as you walk in. They're all very professional adults, as opposed to other dental offices that I've been to, which hire very young teens as receptionists and whom not only are unprofessional but sometimes are rude and unwelcoming. He is very children-friendly, and not "scary" or intimidating at all; therefore, I highly recommend him as your family dentist!!

I learned about Stratford Dental Care through my best friend. She has been their patient for many…read moreyears and has always spoken highly of the practice. Although I do not live in Stratford, when I found myself in need of a good dentist I asked her for their information. It takes me 40+ minutes to get there, but it has been a "God Sent". Dr. Leonardo Pena and his staff have gained my trust completely. After too many disasters, I finally found someone who cares deeply about the quality of the care he provides to his patients. He takes the time to talk to you about your care, answer any questions or concerns you may have, and he has a wonderful professional team to assist him, and help you along the way. In addition, the practice is spotless and with the most modern equipment. He loves to be able to provide you with the latest in technology, I just love going there, I am not just another body walking into the office, the staff and the Dr. make me feel special, with their undivided attention and their knowledge of my profile and needs. That type of care is very hard to find in this date and age. I highly recommend Dr. Pena and his team. Excellent practice, Excellent Care.

Long story short,The first incident I had was I got there 10 minutes late because I had the appointment time wrong. The woman at the front desk refused to take me because of the mistake. I understood and left. The last issue I had was I had an emergency and was forced to cancel my appointment 2 hours ahead of schedule. The woman in charge was not to happy about and told me that I would have to pay 50 dollars for missing my appointment. When I question their intentions, she told me that I was being banned from this place. For the kind of service they provide,I cannot say I was sad about it. I hope they don't try to steal my 50 dollars,I'll give yelp an update in the future. Buyer beware, read the fine print when you risk going to this place to use their service.

After telling her my tooth was in pain her dumbass went straight into digging and spraying without any meds or anything . then when I asked her what was the plan after removing a tooth , she started talking down about me as if I wasn't standing right there to her boss . The Spanish doctor was horrible as well , neither of them know how to speak to patients. I whole heartedly hope everyone loses their licenses here . I asked them for meds for a painful toothache and they told me to figure it out myself .

Wonderful! If you have sensitive teeth or put off going to the dentist because of the fear of pain,…read moremake an appointment and ask for Irina! Not only is she very experienced (28 years) and excellent technically, but she's extremely kind and compassionate and makes sure you are comfortable. She used a wonderful topical on my gums and I had absolutely NO PAIN at all during my cleaning. Normally I have a lot of pain. She also explained everything that she was doing so I felt well-informed. She said to me that after my cleaning I would, "Feel like a million bucks," and I DO! My teeth look and feel beautiful! So clean and shiny. I'm really motivated now to keep them that way! I also had a consultation with Dr. Zaffetti. I didn't have any work done with him on this visit, but he was very friendly and informative and I felt like I was in good hands, getting the best advice on how to proceed with my dental care going forward. The front office staff are great, very friendly and professional. In fact, it was my initial phone call with Eileen that convinced me to make an appointment. We talked about my pain concerns and she told me about her own experience with the topical pain treatment that they use. She made me feel very at ease and confident about coming in. Gina is also great. After my cleaning, she told me about the Dentite plan that may save me money and help me pay for the work that I still need to have done. The only downside is that they do not accept HUSKY Insurance, which is what I have. So I will have to pay out of pocket. As a self-employed person, that's going to be really hard. I need some work done so the cost is going to set me back on other plans that I had, but I will do it because taking care of your teeth and gums is one of the most important things you can do. It impacts so much of the rest of your health. When you find dental care that you feel happy and confident about, you don't want to go anywhere else. They do accept other insurances, so if you don't have HUSKY, you should be fine.

MONEY HUNGRY PRACTICE! DO NOT BOOK AN APPOINTMENT!…read more I specifically did my research & found a provider who participated in my insurance. I proactively sent my most recent dental x-rays over prior to my appointment, although the appointment I booked was for my annual dental cleaning. At the time of my appointment I was handed forms to fill out, one of them being a "$35 Oral Cancer Screening". During my appointment the Dentist looked over my recent x-rays and proceeded to order a full mouth set of x-rays. One would think a professional practice would check with a patient's insurance carrier to see if a complete imaging procedure would be covered or confirm whether the insurance carrier will allow it for the 2026 year- NOPE. The dental assistant who performed my cleaning then asked if I'd be interested in the oral cancer screening (you'd think this would be covered under a routine dental screening- not according to this practice.) They push it as if it's their monthly special. After my appointment I headed to the front desk where the receptionist quoted me $226.40 for a treatment plan. In the treatment plan the total fee equated to $680. The "estimated insurance coverage" was $453.60. I spoke with my insurance carrier after the visit to confirm coverage. 80% of each treatment code listed would be covered and I would be responsible for paying the remaining 20%. One code was not covered in its entirety but the office did not inform me- instead I was merely handed a treatment plan with an expectation that I would pay $226.40. Fast forward to a month or so later- I received a bill from Lighthouse Dental in the amount of $310, for what you may ask? The panoramic x-rays that were done without checking my insurance coverage. I received a call from Lighthouse Dental and I asked the receptionist "if I provided my most recent x-rays prior to my visit why were additional x-rays done?" She replied "all new patients need full x-rays." I questioned why the practice didn't check my insurance coverage or contact my previous Dentist for my last full x-rays if it was needed. She then said "well on the bright side you won't have to get it done again for 5 years" EXCUSE ME? To top it off, after speaking with the receptionist I asked to speak with an office manager- who took two weeks to return my call. I refuse to pay $310 due to Lighthouse Dental's negligence. The carelessness of this practice is appalling.
