I contacted APT secondary to having my pinkie and ring finger on my dominant hand go numb. An assessment by a neurosurgeon indicated PT might offer a conservative remedy. I reviewed several patient reports of the various PT centers available and decided APT sounded interesting. What a fortuitous decision! They have based their practice on the Mckenzie method developed by the late New Zealand therapist Robin Mckenzie (https://nz.mckenzieinstitute.org/patients/) which develops a treatment plan, based on symptoms, involving gradual mechanical increments based upon evidence of improvement; if improvement does not occur then the plan is changed! Over the years I have experienced a few different episodes of PT and can state unreservedly that APT provides a treatment experience that is in a class of its own. In addition to the excellent treatment, the entire staff from Admin to Therapists are extremely welcoming and professional, unhurried, and personable. And finally, and perhaps the icing on the cake, is that the simple interventions that they devise and that provide successful symptom relief are exercises that can be carried on at home after your therapy sessions have been completed, and without the need to buy expensive equipment! Today my fingers have full sensation, a niggling scapular pain that I've had for 20 years in gone and my upper extremity range of lateral motion has increased significantly - these latter two improvements are happily incidental bonuses to my finger problem! That is a result! I cannot thank Nathan and Ed enough for their excellent health care practice. read more
