The level of care, compassion, and genuine love shown by every single person here is unmatched. This isn't just a treatment center -- it's a place where people truly care if you live or die. The staff never treated me like a diagnosis or a number. They genuinely cared about me--my life, my sobriety, and my future. The case managers showed up for me every step of the way, whether I was dealing with legal issues, had questions about the facility, or was struggling emotionally. My therapist helped me face parts of myself I had been running from and always made time to sit with me and really talk, no matter what. In the daily groups, every voice mattered. I learned not only from the incredible staff, but also from my peers sitting right beside me--and for the first time, I truly felt understood. Ocean State Recovery didn't just help me get sober -- they stood by me when I couldn't stand on my own. If you're reading this and you're tired, ashamed, or feel like you've failed too many times--please don't give up. This place can save your life too. Bottom of the barrel Healthcare…read more So after being stabilized at Roger Williams's hospital, I spent three weeks in Elmhurst nursing home to recover from pneumonia. However, the lack of proper basic hygienic care and the mistakes they made with my medication, as well as the maltreatment by staff and the incompetency by CNAs, nurses, nurse practitioners and administrators led to my being rehospitalized with three secondary infections - some of which were serious. After my first week there I wanted to get a transfer to another facility and started gathering testimony from the different professional caregivers (non-staff) who work at other facilities, most of whom confirmed to me that they feel helpless at addressing these problems in this facility... They take for granted that the Marquis group corporate owners, will not allow them to get either the staffing or the supplies they need at that place to provide proper care, and after talking with different residents, I can see that both subacute care patients as well as long-term residents have the same complaints... I regret not documenting accurately enough to file a lawsuit, but I am filing complaints with the Rhode Island health department and publishing reviews everywhere I can online to let the world know, this place is BOTTOM OF THE BARREL as far as nursing homes go... what is taken for granted there is that mistakes (some of which will be life-threatening) WILL be made and the general attitude of staff is "not my fault, not my job, not my problem". The State needs to investigate how they operate that facility, they need inspections and auditing... The national Health review board has already removed their rating. There are 200 beds and nowhere near enough staff and a lot of serious medication errors and total lack of competency going on there.

This will be reported to a higher level. This place should be closed down.

I cannot believe the advice she has given other members of the family & I just finished a phone call where they suggested my mother was probably making it up bc "no one on staff reported her fall today. I checked the log myself." I had to correct them that it had actually happened yesterday. And no staff was their to help her. It was further explained to me that because she has memory problems, I shouldn't listen if she complains!! I wonder if there are other patient complaints being unheard based on that administrators advice?

I have never had one complaint. However, I am extremely disappointed with the Clifton Rehab facility. This facility is a safe and secure facility where people can get decent care, but they don't take criticism very well. The staff is mostly per diems, so the caregivers differ from day to day and have no baseline frame of reference. I also think they focus on filling beds instead of what is best for the patient. My father had been a patient there over the summer to receive physical therapy, and while the medical reports indicated he needed all sorts of assistance and probably would not be able to return to assisted living, it was simply not true. He was actually quite able bodied, but when they can get you to pay for beds in both facilities, why not? I was then pressured by Izze Lawton, to switch my father from his managed group health insurance in to Medicare, because it would guarantee him 90 days of care. While it appeared to be well-meaning, friends warned me the facility was looking for a blank check. Fast forward to now, where my father needs another short term rehab stay. I was not thrilled with this facility, but it's safe and convenient, so I agreed to another stay at this facility, where apparently we are banned due to my having expressed my honest concerns. They literally rescinded the bed offer after speaking with me. Shame on Clifton and the ownership for denying long-term residents of the assisted living facility access to the whole Clifton "family" campus. It's truly disgusting behavior and showcases the heartlessness of the management of the rehab.
