We had a very disappointing experience with Josh. He was contacted to repair/reinstall some tiles…read morethat had fallen. After looking at the job, he took the tiles with him and said they needed to be cleaned before he could return to complete the repair. No separate cleaning fee was discussed or agreed upon. He later told us that the repair was outside his expertise and that he could not complete the job, but then demanded $185 for supposedly cleaning the tiles and initially would not return them without payment. When he finally returned the tiles, they had not been cleaned. We would have had no issue with him determining that the repair was beyond his expertise and declining the job. The problem was demanding payment for a cleaning service that was never separately authorized and, when the tiles were returned, had not even been performed.

One particular company that has door-to -door sales reps (Energy Star Construction) provided me with an estimate for a 200 sq ft concrete patio with pergola for 16k (He would be able to knock off 3k if I agreed to my property being a showcase; meaning people could come over and check it out or call me about it. No, thank you). The next week, I noticed Mike and his partner working on a patio down the block from me that was fabulous- cable hook-up for their outdoor TV, light scones, and fans. I asked him for contact information, and he said he would stop by for a free estimate later on in the day. When he came by, I explained to him what I was looking for and told him about the estimate from Energy Star Const., and he said he would be able to do the job for $6500. Moreover, he told me that the job that he was working on down the street was a $15,000 job. The estimate he gave me was good for 30 days, and even though I called him after that deadline, he readily agreed to do the job for me. I am very pleased with the work that was done- The color matches beautifully with the color scheme of the house and the City of Hanford inspector said they did a "really great job for [me]."
