This was a small van, just for a few trips to the tip. I ensured that tank was full and no damage, at drop off. Didn't even think of checking mileage - I filled the tank up just before handover - a total cost of £6.69, for the 2 days. I phoned a couple of days after drop off, to confirm that all was OK and was told yes. 2 weeks later, I notice that PIXO has withdrawn £40.63, using my card details, with no notification or permission. I sent an email of complaint, warning that I would take legal action, if necessary - no response. I left 3 voicemails, over several days - with no response. Finally, a very nice lady answers and said that she had been on holiday and that no-one had passed any messages on. She investigated and said that Europcar had taken mileage readings at the beginning and end of the rental and had told PIXO that I had exceeded the mileage allowance - their total was 600 miles. Astonishing really, since we only used 1.767 gallons of fuel and we only used the van to clear some garden and household rubbish, to Sighthill tip. I am disputing this and I will be willing to go to Court, and there will be 3 of us willing to give evidence, as well as 2 written statements. I have been in touch with Trading Standards, for advice and the guy immediately picked up on the fact that the withdrawal was made with no notification and he has reported this as an 'unfair Business Practice'. I will ensure that my evidence includes the fact that I received no reply to my original email or phone calls. I am now in the process of sending a Recorded Delivery letter, stating my case and a deadline for this to be resolved and my money refunded, otherwise I will proceed to the Small Claims Court.

Friends went 3 days without their luggage, while they sat in a hotel room nearly 2 hours drive away. Our hotel highly recommended Allan , and I now see why. I called him, told him my friends situation, and he then responded to the airport on their behalf. He tracked down the missing luggage, and then delivered it to us at the group's hotel. On top of that, he refused to accept what my friends were willing to pay, taking a far less sum. We used him twice during our week in North Berwick....both times stellar service. I would consider no one else for transportation needs while staying in this area....

Located at the arrivals gate, just a mere few meters from the escalators, Onward Travel has its own door and fleet of taxis (think silver cars, wagons, mpv's, etc....). You can book in advance (online or over the phone) and should you have any questions, the guys here are fantastic. Think response turnaround time of a few minutes. For a mere 5 pounds, they will even meet you at the greetings area (perfect if you're wanting them to guide you through the airport, collect your luggage so you do not have to lift, etc...) Did I mention that the guys are super personable and friendly? Their cars are impeccably clean and well-maintained (unlike those that you might find in New York City, LA, DC, Chicago, etc...) As for a first impression, they make a smashing one and will be the only airport transfer service that I will have all of my family and friends use. My driver was so kind to give a tour of the city as we drove into the City Centre -- are you kidding, 80% of the drivers in Chicago are too busy talking on their cell phones or finding ways to rack up the meter. Not Onward Travel - you know exactly how much it'll cost (on avg. a metered cab will run about 20 pounds or more and they'll only fit a certain amount of luggage as UK cars are generally smaller than in the US). I much prefer having the service that I received and pay a tad more (i.e. 30 pounds). Will definitely use again - keep up the good work, gentlemen!

Allow me to flesh out my case: I need to be at the airport for 6am, I live in Bruntsfield ( a fair distance away from the nearest Airlink bus stop), no conveniently timed buses run at such an early time in the morning in order for me to get to the Airlink bus stops. Solution: book a taxi with Onward travel the night before your journey. They will always call when approximately 1-2 mins away and, from my experience, always pick you up exactly on time. If your circumstances meet the above, than paying £15-20 is not such a bad idea for the punctual traveller.

Out of all the tours buses we chose the Majestic Tour because it went a bit further out. It doesn't go to the castle, Royal Mile or the other predictable tourist stuff but all of those things are within walking distance anyway so we decided to go further afield. The key points on the Majestic Tour are; Royal Botanic Gardens Newhaven Royal Yacht Britannia Leith Through-out the tour there's a commentary which is probably the worst I've ever heard in my life. There were two narrators one called Willy the other called Evelyn and they were just having a general chat but they had the worst chat ever and kept making "jokes" like "oh no he didn't Evelyn... Oh yes he did Willy." Just awful. In between the terrible banter they played music that sounded like something out of The Little House and the Prairie. Awful. To be honest, I'm still trying to figure out what was Majestic about it, in all honesty it was a bit of a waste of £12 and the No. 22 bus goes on pretty much the exact same route for a smidgen of the price.

Located right in the middle of this little Fife coastal town, which looks over to Edinburgh, this station is the jewel in the town. Its buildings are from the Victorian age along with the bridge, and all are in good conditioned. What is even more impressive though is its appearance. The station is surrounded by flowery areas and the buildings have flourishing hanging baskets. The beauty of the station is also aided by its cleanliness. The staff are very friendly and helpful, whilst also being the ones who maintain the presentation of this station (It really is comparable to the railway station in the Harry Potter books)! Worth a visit, and it is only a twenty minute train ride from Edinburgh, no hassle, go on, pay it a visit!
