We were on our way from ZRH to Bangkok. Check-in and security check were done really fast. So we had some time left. Checked back home already in case this happens and looked for an interesting Lounge. The Aspire Lounge looked the most interesting to us. So we headed there and paid the fee (we flew Economy). 48CHF per person was a fair deal. The Lounge has a nice size, not too big, not too small. And has a deck outside with great views over the airport and the airstrip. You can see some from inside as well. Staff was very friendly to us and entering the Lounge was a quick affair. Be aware that it depends how full and busy it is. You might be sent away as a walk-in in case the place is full. Which is understandable. There is a good number of magazins and newspapers, TV and free WiFi. But of course most come for the unlimited food and drinks. There were hot and cold dishes. Cheese and meat. Pasta and more. Some cakes and sweets. Snacks. Also different kind of bread, croissants. There was some liquor. White and Red Wine. Also good Prosecco. Beer, soda and water of course. Yes, we were in some Lounges with a bigger selection. But we just came to enjoy a bit of food and drink, to rest and relax a bit. And for that it was a fair deal offered here. We had a good time. Accessed the lounge with Priority Pass. We were there right after opening (515AM). Minimal breakfast selection for the exception of bread. Not sure if it's just me but first time that no meat i.e. bacon or sausage for breakfast in any lounge that we've visited. We were expecting more since we're in Zurich. One of the two priority pass lounges in the Gate E area at Zurich airport. it is near gate 52, near the Emirates lounge. You can take the elevator or use the stairs going up. Gate E are your Non-Schengen Flights. Checkin was easy, just a couple scans of boarding pass and you are set. Lounge size- I would say this felt like a smaller lounge, felt that it held perhaps 30-40 people, there is one large section for the lounge, not multiple rooms. There is an outdoor area that is gorgeous, but use is limited in colder months. Arrived at 10:45am to a relatively empty lounge, but left at 12 to a packed lounge. Seats are either small tables or small cubes, and a big section of cafeteria/dining room tables. Not where you'd go to take a good nap though. Restrooms are OUTSIDE the lounge and there are no showers. Food and drink: - 3 hot food items at lunch: tomato soup, mac and cheese with ham, rice and vegetarian curry Cold items: hummus, salad, corn salad, two types of sandwich, fruit, yogurt. There's whole fruit, nuts, snack mix, chocolate, and gummy bears. Drink: wine, espresso machine, still water, juice, sodas, hard liquor. No bartender. Doesn't appear there are take away containers or anything to support that. The food and drink area is small and the employees are always working to refresh, so it does lend to a wait/line. Employees do wheel carts around to try to clear plates and open up new spaces. Overall, much peaceful than being in the terminal. Because of the minimal food choices (if you're hungry go buy food), small lounge size, felt that this was a more average European lounge experience. Would still suggest that you go, just don't get your hopes up too too high. read more

We enjoyed a hot breakfast prepared by the chef then found two lounge booths next to one another in the quiet food-free and phone-free relaxing region that overlooked the runway. This lounge is better than most European lounges. We had a layover here on the way back to JFK and spent maybe about half an hour here. It was a Saturday at around noon, and it wasn't too crowded. For lunch, they had some German potato salad, pasta with marinara sauce, tomato soup, and vegetable curry for the main dishes. It's really just food to fill you up, and not food you'd enjoy - kind of like airplane food. While the food wasn't great, the views were. There's a covered platform with tables/seats outside if you want to bring your food/drink out there to eat, while you watch the planes take off, which was pretty cool. Overall, I would say 3 stars for the food, but 5 for the atmosphere. So if you don't plan to eat here and you're just getting drinks, this would be the perfect lounge for you. Smaller than other lounges we've been to, but it was still a step up from sitting at the gate. My favorite was the outside seating where you could get some fresh air. Watching the planes come and go with the Swiss Alps in the background was the best! Drinks are help yourself. Toilets are outside the lounge and around the corner, not the best. We had a quick stop here before our early flight. Plenty of seating available and super clean. Too early for beer, wine or other beverages which were available. We opted for cappuccino and water! Food was pretty terrible. Eggs were over cooked and clearly batch baked. Cereal sucked too and OJ was from concentrate. There are no showers and the restroom is located outside of the lounge, which is very close to the smokers lounge. The seating is very limited. There are multiple lounges in this gigantic Zürich airport. The specific one I went to was the Aspire Lounge near Gate E 52. Since this airport is huge, it did take a while to go from one gate to another. I specifically went to this one because it was near my E Gate. Since I have Priority Pass, I was able to go into this lounge. They're not that big, but they have a beautiful view of the airplanes and the Swiss Alps. I came here in the afternoon; so they were serving meatballs, potato fries, pasta & pumpkin soup. They all tasted good! They also had a variety of self-serve beverages. I would say their food & beverages were above average, but still limited. They also have outdoor seating, depending on the weather. The lounge wasn't big, but it was spacious. Unfortunately they don't have a restroom inside the lounge, but there is one located outside that's close by. This review is for the Aspire Lounge in Gate E. We had gone from the underground train and were on our way up when we saw the sign pointing Aspire Lounge and up we went! It's near where the Starbucks is. Going up, it was seamless getting in. Presenting a Priority Pass, and then they asked if we wanted a code for the Zurich Airport wifi. That was pleasant (I was wondering the day before why I wasn't connecting). The Lounge is very bright and lets the natural light give way. There are a decent amount of seats inside and there's even a deck outside if you want to plane spot. The other lounges have the same format and you'll be able to see everyone hehe. The food here is just alright. There's a sausage, some eggs, some salad, an assortment of bread. For lunch, they have some chicken tikki masala and rice, along with pumpkin soup - about three or four options for breakfast and lunch. The meat was dry and didn't really have too much flavor. The soup was the best part haha. They have an assortment of alcohol and drinks, which are all pour instead of canned. They do have a monitor/screen that tells you about the departures and we left a bit early when they said the US headed planes needed to head to the gate. read more

So I checked into this beauty, easy access via elevator on the third level if your flight is leaving from gate A or B..Extremely easy check in, $37 Euros will get you leather lounging seats where you can flat out lie down, or chill with your legs up, nice selection of food, swiss cheese and Turkey sandwiches, wine, beer, juices, cereal, fruit and munchies.. Nice jazz music in the background, ample amount of magazines, newspapers, and digital flight info monitor to keep track of ones flight... Louis R is a world traveler. He is. He often has a layover in the best international airports but he does not want to mingle with the common folk. Ergo, he chills at the exclusive lounges and drinks/eats/naps whenever he has said layovers. This lounge is not on par with the ANA lounge in Japan (Osaka and Tokyo) but it has enough amenities (beers/cocktails/sandwiches/hot food) to satisfy Louis R's requirements whilst in Switzerland. We had time to stop at Aspire Lounge before going to Primeclass in Terminal E. With priority pass, you can visit this lounge prior to your flight out of Zurich airport. We came around 3 PM on a Monday. Food was very limited - just fruit and salad. They had alcoholic and soft drinks and a coffee machine, that was it. Lounge is definitely on the smaller side but you have great views of the runway (along with an outdoor patio). If you're crunched on time, I would skip this lounge and go to Primeclass lounge. Aspire lounge on the gate E area is an incredible lounge. From the moment you enter, you feel separate from the airport. Many modern seating options, are quite comfortable. There is one area to get refreshments from, which include 2 hot selection items, one meat, and one vegetarian. There was a sort macaroni with ground beef, and a vegetable stroganoff. We tried both, which were quite flavorful. There is also a high selection of middle shelf alcohol, to serve many of your possible needs. September 19, 2017 I was so excited to layover in Zurich because I thought the airport was amazing. Upon arrival it was very easy transfer to my connection. I immediately found my new gate and checked in. At this time no one said there was a cutoff time to return to the gate, nor was it printed anywhere on my boarding pass. I checked into the Aspire lounge using my Gold status with Etihad. There were only about three of us in the lounge about 8am and my flight was departing at 11:20am. Next I spent some time catching up with emails and eating breakfast. I figured it was time to go, not noticing that my watch was 20 minutes behind. I briefly stopped by duty free and purchased a few bottles of wine then made my way to the gate, which was directly across the isle. Evidently I was five minutes late (11:05) and the gate was closed. However all the walkways and the plane were still connected with crew walking in and out of plane and the door was open. After they asked what color my bag was, they told me to retrieve it in lost and found, and then contact my travel provider and rebook. The plane did not depart for another 15 min... 11:35am. My original departure was scheduled for 11:20am. I have flown Etihad for years and have not had an issue. I've also been late and I was able to get on the flight without consequence. If you are flying Etihad in Zurich be aware that you may run into consequences...from the Aspire TE lounge did nothing to alert me upon checkin or when I was leaving the lounge of the policies, nor when I received my new boarding pass upon arrival from Etihad, nor was the time restriction printed anywhere on my boarding pass. The staff, a young man and young woman at the Aspire terminal E counter, who worked there all day, were not helpful and even rude when I returned after I had purchased a new ticket and they were not going to allow me entry using my gold Etihad status. I want to make sure all travelers are aware of this issue. I've traveled in many countries and many airlines and I have visited many lounges. The Aspire Terminal E lounge in Zurich has to be the last place on my list to visit again. As for the airport, please put your policies on all your boarding passes and make last calls for boarding flights. My wife and I used the Aspire Lounge today and were very disappointed with the way we were treated by the front desk attendant. The attendant was very rude and dismissive of us upon trying to check. It seemed that the simple task of checking in was a great pain for the attendant. We were quickly dismissed by the attendant and noticed her attitude completely switch with the next guest. I do not want to speculate but my wife and I are Indian and Puerto Rican, respectively, while the guest that was behind us was of European descent (Caucasian).
