    Beautiful lounge.

One of my favorite airline lounges! There is an outside terrace with tables where you can sit, breathe in the Swiss air (surprisingly clean for an airport), enjoy food and drink and watch the planes take off. They have fresh hot food and free (yes, no charge) alcoholic beverages. Fabulous coffee and hot chocolate machines. Bathrooms have a view too. The Senator lounge even has outdoor lounge chairs and umbrellas. Don't forget to try some Swiss airlines Swiss chocolate in the lounge. A mini Breitling display boutique is inside, too. Get to the airport a bit early to enjoy it. The staff is pleasant and nice, too.

Swiss airlines has one of their major hubs in Zurich. I had a three hour layover on my way back to Denver. There are 9, yes 9 not a typo, combination business class/ Senator lounges spread around the airport. This meant that my lounge never got crowded. Full bar (all free), breakfast, whiskey bar (all free) and great coffee machine. Cookies and Swiss chocolates for the taking. There is a sleeping area and a desk area for working. Everywhere the lounge was spotlessly clean. Plenty of power outlets. Free access if you have a domestic or international business class ticket. If you have gold status with United you get in for free. Free 24 hour pass to unsecured airport Wi-Fi (that's the only negative). Swiss sure knows how to pamper its premium customers. When I left Denver the United lounge was packed and dirty. Only the cheap wines and beers are free.

This time, I got to check out the Senator Lounge during lunch. It's noticeably nicer than the business lounge, with a long hallway from which you can watch the planes and a peaceful quiet section. The chickenball soup was perfect (sort of like matza ball soup but with tiny balls). There was a nice selection of salad with very fresh greens as well.

Great lounge with lots of seating. Free food wasn't anything to write home about, but numerous drink choices, and there was CHOCOLATE!

Too hot AC needs to be updated. Waiting for flight now and the windows are letting the sunshine in and it's at least 86 degrees or higher

The seats were comfortable, and there was plenty of seating. There's an outdoor terrace that overlooks the runway. I know what you're thinking. Nope, there's no smoking allowed on the terrace. I thought that was great. The breakfast was limited. I can only describe it as adequate. It was very basic in terms of taste. The chicken sausage was good. The eggs had a film of water mixed with egg at the bottom of the pan. Nothing really looked great, and nothing was truly warm. The coffee machine was broken. No one seemed happy about that. I guess we hit it on a bad day. There is a soft drink station with 2 liter bottles and a tiny bucket of ice cubes. Needless to say, the 3 ice cubes melted right away. Lol! However, it did cool off the Coke Zero. I'll give it that. I felt like I was in a different time dimension (England in the 1980s). It's what you'd expect from a pub, but not a premium lounge. Yep, Primeclass needs some work. Other than that, I found the Zurich Airport to be quite efficient. It's the lounge that needs to step it up to make it an even better experience. Go there to get away from the hustle & bustle of the terminal, but don't expect much in the way of food.

Checked back home already in case this happens and looked for an interesting Lounge. The Aspire Lounge looked the most interesting to us. So we headed there and paid the fee (we flew Economy). 48CHF per person was a fair deal. The Lounge has a nice size, not too big, not too small. And has a deck outside with great views over the airport and the airstrip. You can see some from inside as well. Staff was very friendly to us and entering the Lounge was a quick affair. Be aware that it depends how full and busy it is. You might be sent away as a walk-in in case the place is full. Which is understandable. There is a good number of magazins and newspapers, TV and free WiFi. But of course most come for the unlimited food and drinks. There were hot and cold dishes. Cheese and meat. Pasta and more. Some cakes and sweets. Snacks. Also different kind of bread, croissants. There was some liquor. White and Red Wine. Also good Prosecco. Beer, soda and water of course. Yes, we were in some Lounges with a bigger selection. But we just came to enjoy a bit of food and drink, to rest and relax a bit. And for that it was a fair deal offered here. We had a good time. And surely we'll be back again.

Not sure if it's just me but first time that no meat i.e. bacon or sausage for breakfast in any lounge that we've visited. We were expecting more since we're in Zurich. Take heed, American airports: no one will miss it if you turn off the blaring televisions set to CNN and treat the lounge experience like the Swiss do, once they step up their breakfast game.

Breakfast choice was minimum aside from some breakfast pastry. But at least the espresso machine made decent drinks. There is no separate wifi log in at the Lounge so you are still limit to the free 60 minute access from the Airport main wifi log in. That is just kind of disappointing! For such a big lounge, there is no washroom facilities. I would not recommend to pay a per stay charge but if it is include in your Priority Pass or other airline program then would be fine for a visit.

Louis R likes this review: "you know the old cliche about the swiss: Efficient, simple, and without flair or frill. Yep that's this lounge. It is called the panorama lounge and it does have beautiful views of the airport and the surrounding mountains. It is very quiet, very comfortable, and private. The bar is fully stocked and gratis. Many beers (I personally do not care for Swiss beer), wines, hard liquors etc. The food was very good. The small sandwiches one of pretzel bun cucumber and brie and the other a soft seed roll, butter, and ham were very good and fresh. The chocolate tort was also very good. The food changes hourly so there is nice variation." Louis R echos the same sentiments. Be like Louis R, travel the world.

The only downside: Seems like Hinz und Kunz have access these days, and the lounge was excessively crowded and less the stylish oasis of quietness.
