Nicki's bid was mid-range in price, but her previous experience in medicine led her to consider a lot of factors the other bidders didn't. Throughout the project, Nicki would often seek second opinions, and she stayed in constant communication. She was always upbeat and took the time to chat with the gentleman, who really enjoyed her visits. With all our change orders, she was very frank about how much the overruns would be. When it became apparent that our plan to use temporary ramps on the porch was not going to work, we asked Nicki if she could add a concrete wheelchair ramp to the design. She came out the next day to be sure she understood what we were intending, sent her crew to prep the site the next, and had everything done in time for a single concrete pour. Her workers have an eye for aesthetic contouring. What I expected to look like a DMV alternate for the I-26 connector ended up looking like a Donald Ross golf course. It is also more functional than what we had envisioned. Now, I can't wait to show off the sleek and elegant concrete work to everyone who visits.
