When we came home we found that they were short of the mark. Someone that we had never seen before came to ask us for final payment. We told him that it did not meet the specs that Max had written up and thought that it should be corrected or the price adjusted. He said that Max would call. Max never called but we came home one day to find them working on it. I walked to talk to Max but kept working feverishly and refused to acknowledge me. I went out 3 times. When they were done Max came to my door in an angry manner and demanded final payment. I asked if we could look over the project and he went into a tantrum. He angrily said that I had approved it when they got done, but I was not there at that time. I refused to pay until we went over the finished project. Max threatened to pull up the p[avers, and so I went into the house. He asked his help to pull up the pavers, and finally another man came to talk to me. He was rational, apologized for Max, and we looked at the final project. It was still short of the specs but close. I paid to get it over with. It was as if dealing a 4 year old throwing a tantrum.

Eric and crew are experts on native plants. The more I read about "lawns," the more I cringe every time I pass one on the road. Lawns, being non-native plants, they are animal-torturers -- ironically, lawns passively mow down animals. Think of lawns as efficient animal-disposal machines. Do the planet (and your neighborhood) a favor and make your land friendly to critters by insisting on native plants. Native plants and animals evolved together over millions of years, so when one's land doesn't have native plants, wildlife starves, all the way up and down the food-chain. Lawns are gasoline- and water-guzzlers. The lawn industry uses up a humongous amount of petroleum products merely in lawn-mowing. I am a "Gone the Lawn" person now. Lawns are appropriate ONLY under certain circumstances, like one is a croquet fanatic. I never knew that gardening was year-round. April is the month everyone waits for, but planning starts the previous autumn. Eric's physically-demanding season winds down in mid-November, so let him see your plot before the snows hide the land. Autumn is the best time to start brainstorming the design phase for the following April. Eric and crew are not only landscapers but artists.

Starting with Dan Thelen, he provided all options and cost of product details. There were no surprises. The install crew I understand has been with Total Exteriors from the start. The day of my roof installation Zion and the install crew showed up well before the planned start time and rocked it out. Their attention to detail, teamwork and final cleanup was more than what I expected and exceeded the experience that I had 23 years ago with a previous roofing company. The next day the crew returned for gutter and downspout installation. Also, I'd like to give a shout out to Jason who takes quality to the next level. Great job! My new roof looks great.

He informed me his company was replacing the roof on a couple of homes in my area due to a storm. I allowed Andrew access to my roof; he did a thorough job providing me with photographic documentation of hail damage, and helped walk me through the process of making a claim to my insurance company. When the Insurance Adjuster came to my home to see if insurance would pay for the damage, Andrew came along, too. He stayed with the Adjuster, pointing out all the areas with damage, until all the Adjuster's questions were satisfied. This may sound like no big deal, but it took the Adjuster a VERY long time, and Andrew remained professional and patient throughout the process. The Insurance Adjuster approved my house for a brand new roof. Andrew's team did an excellent job of tearing off and replacing my roof. They were courteous, hard-working, on-time, and did a excellent job cleaning up any mess they made. We had additional damage to our decking; Andrew and his team at Scandia worked hard with my insurance company to get that paid for as well. During the insurance approval process and contract signing, Andrew keep in touch regularly. He has excellent communication skills; he's definitely an all-around nice guy! My experience with Scandia Construction was great. I highly recommend them!

Unfortunately, we made the mistake of paying in full before the project was finished. Now, despite the vanity being included and already paid for, the contractor is refusing to come back and install it. This has left us with an incomplete project and additional stress trying to resolve something that should have been handled properly from the start. Overall, the lack of follow-through, poor communication, and refusal to complete agreed-upon work made this a frustrating and costly experience. We strongly advise others to be cautious and avoid paying in full before all work is completed to your satisfaction.
