Also love how knowledgeable and respectful the doctors are. I usually come in with a list of questions, and they always help me understand what's going on so I don't have more concerns later. We normally see Dr. Paxton, but we also have come in for emergency visits when he's not in office. Very impressed each time. When we moved further from their office, we tried a couple other practices near us and didn't like those as much. We felt either under prepared at visits because they didn't have the pre-visit questionnaire, or frustrated at the office being behind schedule - turns out it's because the doctors like to chat a bit with patients during appointments, which some people like but I'd rather get through it quickly. I was given an IV and also something for nausea. I was given a double dose of something that I didn't recognize. It totally knocked me out. I vaguely remember trying to talk and was unable to. I had no control. I felt heavily drugged. I was not coherent at all. Didn't even know where I was. Then in that state...they sent me home before I was able to function on my own. I don't remember even getting into the wheel chair let alone having my husband help put me into the car. The next thing I remember was waking up at 3:00 in the afternoon in my bed still feeling not quite there. I slept off and on all day. To be honest this experience scared me because I was not conscience enough to function on my own. They should have NEVER released me until I was fully awake and able to talk. I am a PhD physicist and I don't often meet…read morepeople who I can immediately tell are smarter than me, but this is definitely the case with Dr. Stoddard. I watched him instruct a medical student and he described the reasons why he was doing everything he did. It was incredible. From pain-free infections to the way he wrapped the bandages everything was very well thought through. Dr. Stoddard did same-day x-rays and diagnosed a difficult to see bone condition (arthritis) in my left foot that other doctors had missed, and he performed a same-day cortisone injection. I had two follow-up in-office surgeries that went very well and I now have no more toenail fungus! We discussed everything from quantum mechanics and relativity to some of the pioneering surgical techniques he is working on. I recommend Sundance foot and ankle to everyone that I meet who needs foot help. Number one for a doctor is competence, but if you can also get excellence, humility and kindness, then look no further.
