I went to the Aspen Dental in Quincy from A recommendation from 1800 Dentist. It was like going to a car dealership , trying to up sell me. I went for their free consultation and then to schedule a cleaning. Went I was done they provided me with an estimate of 1,695( roughly) to finance my cleaning. I called twice with no call back to explain the costs and why I couldn't just get the $168 cleaning. I told them prior I did not have dental insurance. Finally calling the main Aspen number the woman connected me to their office. She said that there was no $168 cleaning and that they would not do a basic cleaning for me, then hung up. I had a consultation regarding work I was considering. I have a dental insurance from my job that covers up to a certain amount. The work I was considering cost a whole lot more.( The most important word is considering)They offered a care credit which I was approved just in case I decided to pursue the treatment. I received the credit card. I called to get the details of the card why did Aspen already charged the card $2,416. For services not render yet!!!! I called them they said I signed a contract agreeing to the service. I am scratching my head still there was no services just a conversation and for that my employee Delta dental will pay. When I called the person they sounded very annoyed. Stated they would refund the card 7 to 10 working days they waited a day to charge me and they still have not refunded they are serious robbers!! read more

Just completed a treatment journey of dental care today. Permanent partial done and in place. The staff at Aspen Dental in Quincy were terrific from day one. I always felt well treated and heard. Everyone was great about answering questions and always took time to explain to me what was going on. Danuta and Dr. Peterson and everyone on the team couldn't have been nicer or more invested in a high quality experience. Thanks to everyone there! I didnt have dental insurance in 2014, hadn't been keeping up with my dental hygiene and hadn't had my teeth cleaned in 3 years. I went in sometime in Feb of 2014 since they were advertising free xrays. The place was packed with employees. I was evaluated, then xrayed, then someone else measured my gums. After my gums were measured, someone else devised a treatment plan of a Deep Cleaning which would take 4 sessions and cost a few grand. I was appalled. I just wanted to pay for a cleaning. I gave up. I got insurance that summer, saw a dentist, had my teeth cleaned and xrayed. They also measured my gums and said I definitely did not need a deep cleaning. I just had alot of calculus to remove and a regular cleaning was just fine. It all felt like a sales job at Aspen. I would never recommend them. read more

Run, do not walk, away from this dental practice. I'm not their normal patient. I go to the dentist regularly, every 6 months. (From the new patient materials, it seems they cater to uninsured people that haven't been to a dentist in years.) Unfortunately, my dental insurance changed and no longer covered the dentist I used to visit, so I wound up as a new patient here today. I will not be returning. I came to the 3 PM appointment a 1/2 hour early to give me time to fill out new patient forms. There's no receptionist there but a sign that says sign in and have a seat. At 3 PM, I'm greeted by a receptionist with forms to fill out and "I'm sorry. We were at lunch." Once I was seen,they took 4 different types of x-rays. The kind where you bite down on the painful thing that cuts the roof of your mouth 3 times: first red, then yellow, then blue plastic parts. Then, they make you stand in an x-ray machine that goes around your head. Already felt a bit excessive. The X-ray tech tries to get me to agree to an expensive, not covered by insurance, oral cancer screening with some kind of special light but I decline. Then, I waited for another 40 minutes in the dentists chair, only to have a hygienist painfully poke at my gums. I've never felt such pain at the dentist before, and it wasn't even a cleaning! The dentist comes in and looks at my x-rays only, not my teeth, to say I have both gum disease and cavities. WHAT?! As I mentioned before, I've been seeing a dentist every 6 months for 32 years and have never heard that my gums have a problem, nor am I having any pain from the supposed cavity. He points at the X-ray and says, "see this black spot". I honestly don't see what he's talking about and say, "no, I don't see." I complained to the dentist that the hygienist hurt me & say I've never had that happen before but he looked at me like I was crazy. Then, they try to have me go without a cleaning. That was my whole reason for making the appointment!!! They tell me to take a seat up front and they'd try to fit a cleaning in. Then, they ask me to sit at their billing center and tell me they've scheduled me for filling the cavity, a cleaning, and gum work - and hand me a bill. Wait a minute, I say. I'm not coming back & we didn't even discuss what appointment times could work for my schedule. Reluctantly, I'm told to come back in 20 minutes and they'll fit me in for a cleaning. But first, they ask me to call my dental insurance to list them as my dental provider. I do but end up taking the call outside and telling the insurance rep that I just want to pay for today and I will call to change the dentist before my next appointment because I will not be coming back. Finally, they tell me to come back for the cleaning. It's the same hygienist from before and she has zero bedside manner. She doesn't tell me what she's about to do. She asks if I want topical or injection Novocaine. For a cleaning?! I say topical but think "Whatever you billed my insurance for please. I've already paid the rest of the bill out of pocket!" Even with the Novocaine, it's the most painful cleaning I've ever had. Then she sprays something (not water) that manages to get under my glasses and in my eye. When I can talk again, I ask her what went in my eye and she tells me "just antibiotic, nothing to worry about." Um, lady, I'm worried when anything other than eye drops goes in my eye! Finally, after telling me to rinse with something for a minute and spit it out she says "No eating or drinking anything for a half hour. That was fluoride." Others have said in their reviews that the place feels more like a used car lot than a healthcare provider and I agree. read more

I haven't had my teeth cleaned in 2020 after my appointments were cancelled. I have had healthy teeth and no history of cavities or gingivitis. Today I went for my appointment and I requested a cleaning only, no xrays. They refused to see me. They told me I have to get X-rays every year, which I have not done, just regular cleanings. They said because 2020 I didn't have an appointment, I now needed the X-ray. I kindly asked if I could skip the X-ray until next appointment and just get the cleaning, but they refused to treat me. The person on the phone said I had to go in and sign a waiver. Which then I did. But they only gave me one X-ray when I PAID FOR THREE! and told me there was only one in the system. 1 star might be for them putting great effort to threaten me with my teeth conditions in a likely professional way and made me feel like the end of the world if I don't follow there $6000 treatment plan. I got 2 bad wisdom teeth that needs extraction asap and I was fascinated by them offering free first exam. I'm a student who had limited fund and my 2 teeth are getting worse day by day so I got really stressed out. The first exam comes out I had periodontal problem and some other teeth need root canal, and all 4 wisdom teeth need to be extracted at the same time not 2. I got so nervous because I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to dental works. Months later I got all prepared for 2 teeth extraction of $2000, I called them back to schedule a surgery day, they told me there's only one day in a month that the oral surgeon will be here to do it. I though of trying to arrange my schedule to do it anyway NOW, they started telling me that I need to do deep cleaning in both teeth before I do the extraction, and each deep cleaning tooth costs $1700. I couldn't help myself from being a rude person anymore at this point. I raised my voice over the phone "What? So I have to pay $5000 before I see the surgeon? Are you kidding me??". The lady then said "Yes, or you'll have to do root canal for all teeth around the extraction area". This freaked me out another time. I regretted for not checking around at the beginning. Other places quoted me only $200-$400/tooth. WORST DENTIST EVER!! They will try to suck out your pocket with unnecessary procedures prior to what you really need! read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars only because I was coming here faithfully since 2005 and have had little issues up until recently. Went in for a cleaning after receiving routine care for the last few years and seriously felt hustled like I was at a used car dealership. Told I had periodontal disease and needed perio scaling, was hustled to take a fluoride treatment NOT covered by my insurance, ushered through a financing plan without a moment to really process what was going on. I quit smoking recently, have had no major indicators of periodontal disease, what gives?? Just went for a second opinion and was told I can just manage this at home and do not need to drop $800 AFTER insurance on all these expensive procedures. They always throw in the " the third party finance option" &" it's up to you" jargon like a car dealership and once you call them with any issues they get very stank. Claudia's bad attitude stinks up the place more than her cigarettes, along with the other front desk girl. Office Manager, Claudia, & her administrative team are not very professional and it all stems from Claudia's bad attitude and lack of professionalism. They don't return calls when they commit to doing so and half the time they do not identify themselves when they answer the phone. "Tay" is particularly guilty of this and only gives that nickname when asked her name. It took them 9 months to properly bill my insurance for a cleaning this year. I had to follow up 9 times after my insurance carrier confirmed that they had never received the March 2021 bill although the office had properly billed them for a Jan 2021 appointment I had. I spoke with Claudia, lastly, who assured me it would be taken care of after she finally picked up the phone herself and learned that her attempt to bill my insurance never went through because of a technical issue Aspen was having with sqitching their billing office/technology. She left me a message stating that she would follow up and not to worry. 2 months later, I got a letter from Collections without Aspen EVER billing ME for the correct amount, after my insurance paid its portion. This office also overestimates how much the patient owes and KEEPS the OVERPAID portion without telling you! Then, when you show up for your next visit they tell you, "you have a credit of $217 on your account. Would you like to apply it to this appointment?" What gives them the authority to hold our money? Seems criminal to me!!!! I was a patient there for about 7 years and have FINALLY moved on. Their technology is out-dated and I had pain from a permanent crown that they put in, for over a year. Each time I visited about it I was told that my margins were perfect and that the integrity of the crown was great. I finally went to a different dentist and not only did they identify the opening in the contact with their 3rd x-ray, but they replaced the crown within 3 hours! Permanently! Aspen would make you believe that is an impossible feat! At Aspen Dental I had to wait a minimum of 2 weeks anytime I needed a crown. My new dentist scoffed at the work Aspen did (saying that my crown just looked like a box and had been way to big and that the natural tooth underneath hadn't been shaved down enough which was the cause of my increased pain and discomfort. (I felt all of those things and had communicated them to Aspen prior to getting the 2nd opinion.) The crown I got before that one has now cracked, twice, and rather than be accountable and replace it, they told me that the integrity of the crown, overall, is fine and did nothing. That was the 2nd crown I had replaced by my new dentist who could also see that there was a compromised margin and that the crown was not "fine". Even the Hygienist there tries to pressure and guilt you into doing things for pre-periodontal issues but gives no positive feedback . It was an outside Hygienist (helping the Quincy branch that day) who actually complimented me and told me that what i was doing was working and that my teeth and gums were doing better. When I asked Asta why she didn't give positive feedback she said that she only mentions what needs to be addressed (aka what will make them more $$) rather than following up on her suggestions and telling the patient that the changes being implemented are working when my own efforts show improvements. If you have insurance, RUN from this place. There are better dentists in the Greater Boston area. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED... RUN!!! read more

I recently visited Aspen Dental Quincy and upon first impressions I was very impressed from the front desk staff to the dentist. Everyone was very kind and showed a tremendous amount of compassion. I knew what I was going in for and what to expect as far as cost. I have very good dental insurance which covered 50% of the cost and had done research on the services I would need so the pricing/cost for me was not an issue. Dr. Pedersen was great, she was very knowledgeable about my procedures and explained everything in detail. During the procedure she was very attentive to me needs and showed a tremendous amount of compassion for the pain I was in. Emma the hygienist held me hand throughout the entire procedure and did her best to make me as comfortable as possible. All in all the service I received was 5 stars. Why I gave a 2 star rating: - The facility is very open with no private rooms and one does not have the privilege of having their personal dental information discussed in private. The practice does not have any type of HIPPA precautions at all or at least non were used. While I was in one chair the office manager was in the next cube speaking with someone about their financial problems which I found to be very uncomfortable and they weren't even speaking to me. - The facility itself is state of the art which appears to have all the up to date dentistry equipment however I found it not too be very clean. The trash bins were overflowing, and the machines in the rooms were dirty as if they had not been wiped down or cleaned in sometime.The hand mirror I was given to look into was spotted and dirty and even the dentist acknowledged the dirty mirror. When I went to the sink to rinse out my mouth the sink knobs was filthy with what looked to be caked up soap or some type of cleaning residue. - Lastly there was a lot of moving around in the office, I felt people were walking by to see me as again the rooms are not private and anyone at anytime sees, hears and knows all your business. Again aside from the cosmetic cleanliness issues the dental service received was excellent!!! read more

A little over a month ago Aspen Dental got me in for an emergency visit for unbearable wisdom tooth pain. After an examination and X-rays revealed an infection, I was scheduled for an extraction over a month later, and told to get a water pik. I was also scheduled for a regular tooth cleaning today. The pain got worse in my wisdom teeth and I ended up at South Shore Oral Surgery (FIVE STARS THERE, BTW), I was prescribed an antibiotic and had emergency surgery the following week. Although, I was disappointed with that first visit at Aspen Dental, and would NEVER recommend them for oral surgery, I decided to keep my regular cleaning scheduled for today. The office is closer to home, and I assumed a big chain dentist couldn't possibly mess up a regular teeth cleaning. My appointment was scheduled for 3 o'clock and I ended up leaving at 5 pm without being seen. I had to pay out of pocket for ANOTHER round of x-rays and I was told after a hour and a half wait in an exam room that they weren't able to do my cleaning because they didn't have the time. I wish I had read reviews for this Aspen Dental before I went. It turns out that an eerie amount of these posts could have been made by me, for I had the exact same experience. I went in for a cleaning, was told I had to do x-rays and all manner of other checkups, and after almost two hours was finally told I couldn't even get the cleaning done. Evidently I have serious gum disease, and the only option is a two thousand dollar plan. I literally just came in for a cleaning, which never happened. Also, I was the guinea pig for a trainee, which was moderately painful, but that's not the issue. I would have preferred being asked beforehand. I am now going to another dentist, and since I already used my x-rays on this place, I had to get copies. Sending them over would have taken 10 days, so I had to go in person to get hard copies. Over the phone they had said I had to come back to sign for them, but when I showed up they just handed them to me without any sort of official verification it was me. It felt like when you go to the mechanics to get your snow tires put on, and they tell you your entire engine is bad and on top of that, they won't do your tires. Stay away, and put in the effort to find a real dentist. I wish I had. The only plus I can possibly think of is that several of the receptionists are quite nice. If I could have given this place zero I would have, and even the receptionists couldn't pull it to one. read more

I would give the place Zero if I could but I will keep up with the one star reviews. I went here for almost two years and I am now on the great search for a real dentist. Things that put me over the edge(the big ones, since there are many): ~ when I got my wisdom teeth pulled I was given a Vicodin script. 2 days later I have a migraine and a hivey rash all over my arms and back. When I ask about it on my follow up you tell me you will contact the oral surgeon and have them get back to me. The RECEPTIONIST tells me I should call my doctor. THE RECEPTIONIST!! Thanks girl, you may be the best employee there. ~ the rotating staff, I never trust a place that can't keep employees. With the first few I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but then I noticed ( as my visits became less frequent) the staff was NEVER the same. ~ screwing with my $$, I pay you when I visit, I have insurance. You after a year plus of taking care of my teeth the my plan doesn't cover my visits. OK, quick call to my (very helpful) insurance company that you are full of it. THEN!! I start getting bills and calls from a collection agency. For the first time ever in my life the fact I keep all my receipts for things came in VERY helpful ~cancelling appointments. I have been going to Aspen dental here in North Quincy for as long as I can remember. It is a very well run and managed facility. The staff is great. I have never had trouble getting appointments for my regular 6 monthly cleaning or the one off fillings' procedures and such. The offices are very clean and very well maintained. The equipment is state of the art and the patient's get to enjoy a personal TV in front of their chair while the hygienist / dentist is working on their teeth. Over the years, the main doctors have changed but everyone in this facility is great - from the front desk staff, to the doctors to the hygienists. I have never been afraid of dental procedures. And this facility makes my bi annual visits very stress free. Though slightly on the expensive side if you have to do any specialized treatment / procedures from what I have heard from friends and family who go to other places, but I honestly haven't gone shopping some place else because I never had the need to. If you have the right healthcare plan, I would definitely recommend this branch in North Quincy. read more

I was kept waiting for more than 30 min from my appointment time . The receptionist was not friendly at all . Great experience overall. Front desk staff was great, dental hygienist was great and dentist was great. I had trouble finding a dentist that could get me an appt in a decent amount of time. I was able to get an appt with a cleaning that day. When I arrived I was having trouble updating my primary care dentist with my insurance and the gentleman at the front desk told me to head back to my cleaning and xrays while he handled it for me and called my insurance company. The dental hygienist was very gentle with my teeth and very personable and friendly and did a good cleaning. Dentist had great bedside manor and left me with a good feeling. I have not been able to find a good dentist to the area and I finally found this one. I will keep Aspen of Quincy my dentist know matter how far of drive it is. read more

They went over the plan and i had to leave for business reasons and didn't talk to the office manager. She called the day after had to leave a message for me ---and i couldn't reach her since then. If I could rank them zero stars, I would. First off, let's start with the initial appointment, which was an emergency appointment. I was told I might need a root canal but I might not, and to go home and try Aleve and an antibiotic. I did, and the pain became worse. I called a week and a half later on Friday 3/1. They first told me "nobody here does those, you'll have to call the Boston office". Then about an hour later they called and said they could do it if I paid over the phone, right then and there. I'm a student without dental insurance and I told them it would take me a few days to free my schedule and get the money. They told me to call back on Monday at 10 with a credit card and they'd book my appointment for Monday 3/4. I did. When I called, the snarky receptionist said "oh the doctors on vacation for the week. Call another office". So I called the Dedham office. The Dedham office informed me that only the surgeon/specialist can do these procdefurws. Interestingly enough, they had me scheduled for Dr. Pederson, a general dentist, not Dr. Lee, a surgeon. Luckily enough, I found a real dentist who was willing to see me at a private practice. He had regard for his patients and suggested I get all of my dental records sent to him. I called my previous dentist, who said he could email them today. I called Aspen and was told An email takes 2-3 weeks but I could go pick them up. I went to pick them up, they literally made photocopies of my x-rays. What good is that? I left and called, and the receptionist who might just be the most uneducated, unprofessional person in the world yelled at me when I asked for them on a disk. She also insisted I should learn how to use a phone, and that she called me on Friday and I didn't answer despite the fact that My call log shows I spoke to her. When my partner took the phone and requested a digital copy because I am dying in pain, and have been struggling thanks to their lack of diagnosis she said "I don't have time for you two bitches" and kept yelling. So my partner told her off. Needless to say, if you want your money stolen, if you want to be treated rudely and unethically, and if you want a misdiagnosis, go here! Also I politely asked for the manager to call me, to which the uneducated receptionist I am the manager. So I'm sure the doctor who owns the place would be happy to know that! read more

I went in for some tooth pain, which I knew was going to lead me to getting my 4 wisdom teeth pulled out. I went in and they rushed me through wanted me to sign up for credit through them. I ended up going through with Aspen, and the day of my appointment I had to be driven to Raynham to have my teeth extracted. The procedure went good, and I was in some pain which is normal. What I didn't like, is the price, once I got the bill, I realized I could've found a place that was a lot cheaper. Another thing I didn't like at all, is that they didn't schedule a follow up appointment, to see how my teeth where healing. They never checked. this place is horrible! joe had three teeth pulled this morning and dr. butcher lee. .the oral surgeon was rough and didn't care about his patients. .he just gave him on the way out a piece of paper and some guaze. .no explanations on how it went..no follow up appointment for patients. ..i would think that an oral surgeon would want to see his patients for a follow up to check his work and to see if it's healing right or if there is any concerns..this place is dirty ! the office people are rude and only care about decorating and talking amung themselves...i can only hope i can spare one person from the very bad experience we had..please seek another dental office were they have compassion and people skills! do not go here under any circumstances! read more

Felt like a car dealer shop rather than a dentist office. Will Never Ever walk into that office again, even if it becomes a pet store.

less than 1 star, i wish no star. we should have the option to give no star with business that try to scam ppl for $$$. My husband and I go there for appt, i told them i want cleaning, they did not schedule me cleaning at all and just give us exams. Next thing the hygienist told me i have periodontal disease where they measure how many mm of space inside your gum. But the dentist said i have good teeth, how does that possible i got gum disease?? My husband got charge for over $2600 for deep scale cleaning and my cost over $1000. I was like: no thank you and they wont allow me to do regular cleaning that cover by delta. I saw tuft dental, both hygienist and dentist said i got good strong teeth, just need regular 6mos cleaning. Plz dont go there, you will be regret and dont say i didnot warn you!!! read more

I wish I can give this place a Zero star too. The office manager was rude. All the front desk people were trying to sell you expensive dental treatments. I read all the other reviews from yelp after I have been a Aspen dental patient. I can't agree anymore that they run their office like a business trying to maximize their revenue no matter how the patients feel. the dentist was ok. I have a very good dental insurance. They charged me $594.25 which I should have paid only $88. That's a different of $506.25!!! I called my dental insurance and the representative Ann was surprised that Aspen dental overcharged me that much too. I changed my dental office to another one in the area right away and asked Aspen dental to send over my current X-Ray pictures to the new Dental office. They said I have to pay $20 for that!! I said no way! Everyone please stay away from this dental office! read more

This place is good, it seems they use the most modern methods with new dentists. I do wish they would be willing to just give you a cleaning without pushing for a scaling or deep cleaning for big money. Otherwise, the care is good and the staff are friendly, especially Danuta and Doctor Roohi a dentist. Going back to continue treatment and will report further later. read more
