To my disappointment when my daughter went in they ended up saying it was only a consultation, I took off work to take care of her after her visit (wisdom teeth extraction). I believe they didn't do the procedure because front desk made a mistake in scheduling too late in the day because they were closing at 3p. Instead of taking accountability they blamed my daughter stating they NEED the referral and they also need more time to complete procedure. They did not offer to retrieve referral from referring practice and no one was in the front desk to make appointment for procedure so we left without any appointment. When I went it in for my wisdom teeth extraction it was consultation/procedure in one appointment. When my youngest daughter went it was also consultation/procedure and they did not need the referral form since it was already discussed in advance. This practice is inconsistent and needs to do better in communicating.

After years of looking for a surgeon to remove "Tori" (benign bone growths in the mouth) I found…read moreDr. Julia Jackson at Northern Virginia Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Assocs. Past dour warnings against the surgery immediately vanished after a consultatation with Dr. Jackson. That she loves Tori surgery (reduction) was a game changer. 5 stars for this surgeon who exudes knowledge/competency, positivity, interest, and kindness. Everything was explained in detail (including actual photos of before/after surgery) and the surgery was performed under local anesthetic. Dr. Jackson removed (reduced) 5 tori in an amazingly short time - about an hour. The entire time I was comfortable and because of her skill, I missed the opportunity to watch her do one Tori. Recovery time was a snap and I would do it all over again - as long as Dr. Jackson is the surgeon. She did a beautiful job. Upon leaving the office, the pleasant young woman smiled at me as I mumbled through a mouth full of gauze and said "We speak gauze here". I left laughing.

July 2022 - COVID Review:…read more I was referred by my general dentist to go to an oral surgeon to get a "growth" on my tongue checked out. Since it's on my tongue, I have to use my medical insurance instead of my dental. This was one of the offices in the area that took my insurance and they don't have an oral surgeon but a periodontist. I had been referred in May and didn't have an appointment scheduled til June. The periodontist only works on Thursdays and every other Friday. Days leading up to my appointment, I get a call from the office that he's unavailable and had to get rescheduled to a month later. I came in for my consult and was told he would do a biopsy to be safe and that it would take a week of recovery. I was scheduled for the end of July for the procedure, but then I needed to reschedule due to work. When I called, the next available appointment wasn't going to be until September since again, he only works 1-2 days a week and I had been needing this checked out since May. I decided to cancel the appointment altogether and schedule at an actual oral surgeon. The new oral surgeon gave me a better second opinion that it was just my tastebuds and "would be a waste" to get a biopsy done.

They're fine if you just need a cleaning/only see them every 6mo or so…read more But if you need them for anything else, it's like pulling teeth to get them to call/email you back or give you any information. Be ready to call at least once a week for any updates. Otherwise it'll be radio silence.

I have only been to Sudley Manor Dental Care one time so far, but i was very impressed with the…read morecare i received there. Dr. Cai was very gentle, calm, patient, and NON judgmental about the state my teeth are in. I have some heightened phobias revolving dental work, so needless to say i was very scared to go in. I embarrassingly hadn't seen a dentist since i was a child, so i have some extensive dental issues. Everyone there made sure i was comfortable and assured me that i was in good hands. Due to my crazy anxiety, i was panicking and crying thru most of my appointment. Dr. Cai really went out of his way to make sure i was okay, and he assured me thru the whole process that i was doing a great job. I cant thank him enough for doing his best to put me at ease. The actual facility is beautiful. Very modern with obvious attention to technological advances. Everything seemed high tech and state of the art. It doesn't have that super 'cold' vibe some medical offices have. Very warm and inviting. I've already told several people about Dr. Cai & his dental practice. Highly recommend. I can't speak for every patient as im sure its case by case, but since i don't have any dental insurance, they worked with me so that i could afford the work i desperately needed. I genuinely felt they cared about my health before making a buck. Dr. Cai personally called me himself 4 days after having 2 teeth extracted to check on me and make sure everything was healing as planned. His staff(especially Lisa i think her name is) was also very warm and helpful. I called the office multiple times before and after my procedure to ask questions and she was a delight every time. Never made me feel like one of "those" annoying patients. I think i have found my forever dentist. I really cant say enough nice things about this place. If you want a dentist that is kind, understanding, gentle, and good at what they do i highly recommend you give sudley manor dental care a try! Im optimistic that one day i can have the smile and oral health ive always dreamed of, thank you Dr. Cai !

The dentist, Dr. Kourosh Bazarjani, was rude, squeezed my face while performing a root canal, pulled on my hair and pinched my lips and cheeks with his instruments, and was incredibly condescending and dismissive to me. He outwardly showed frustration while working on my mouth, and even let out several loud sighs to let me know that he was having a tough time. Before the procedure, he asked me to raise my hand if I had pain. When I raised my hand several times, he dismissed me and pressed the drill into my tooth even harder. The office manager "had a talk with him", and he came back even more rude and aggressive. I will be reporting this doctor and the practice to the Virginia Dental Board.
