I took a chance and went and it was so worth it! I ended up needing a couple of cavities filled and two crowns. In the past, having crowns fitted and put on has been excruciatingly painful, sometimes for days afterward. I can honestly say I didn't feel a thing during or after the procedure. It was amazing. Dr. Mikitka is very no-nonsense. Don't get me wrong, he was polite. He just clearly knew what he was doing, didn't make a lot of small talk, and got the work done. The front office staff is wonderful, as well, especially Amanda. While the dentist probably won't ever be my favorite place to go, White Settlement Family Dentistry definitely gained a patient for life!

A tech came and took my x-rays. Afterwards the hygienist showed me the x-rays as she was going through them and explained everything she saw. I was a little floored when she told me I had not one but six cavities. I don't know that I've had six cavities my entire life let alone a six/eight month time frame between checkups. After my teeth were checked for cavities, a third person came in to explain the charges for my insurance. At this point I had been in their office for an hour. It was at that time I was told the hygienist (different from the one that checked for cavities) was unavailable and that I couldn't get the cleaning I scheduled or see the dentist and needed to make another appt. Right now I am torn. I am torn between thinking this is all a big fluke (because they have excellent reviews on here) and thinking this is a scam place. I have heard many, many, many commercials for Mint Dentistry and other "Dentist in a Box" spots, but was skeptical. They tout the thousands of positive reviews online, which is valid to a point, but I've never found positive reviews that helpful. Look at the negative ones. There, I saw mention of the cattle-call/sheep-herd approach that happens at the new chain places - very little personalized service and a quick, surface level check. No thank you. In contrast, the reviews for Arts District were almost universally positive and touted the amount of time and attention spect with patients. I can now attest this is absolute reality. My initial appointment went for approximately two hours. In that time, totally covered and zero cost to me via my Metlife insurance, I received x-rays, multiple photographic reviews of all teeth, a thorough two-pass cleaning with the scraper thing, a brushing with the nasty dental pumice paste, gum assessment and finally an assessment by the dentist. Despite my long absence from the dental game, there was no judgement at all. I had a couple of fillings (30 years old) which need replacement. I have a spot on my tongue (probably because I bit it myself) which they want to keep an eye on. No push for extra services, no pressure at all. Just a happy staff glad you are taking responsibility for your teeth.

I was able to book my appointment w ease with Professional Representative. Appointment time came, and I noticed Monarch got a remodel. They have new flooring, new chairs and decor. All the Patients that left seem to enjoy their visit. The Dental Assistant was nice and complimentary. The Dentist gave good advice and the Office Assistants worked really hard to get me an appointment sooner but, they were not able to do. The Hygeinist agreed to work a certain date that she normally doesn't so, I can get my teeth cleaned. That was so nice of her but, I wont be getting my cleaning within the 6 month time frame. Not cool. It's a little disappointing that I could not get my cleaning done in one visit, which I was expecting and would be the logical thing to do. All, I needed was a simple basic cleaning Unfortunately, I will have to make another trip and juggle more tasks that day just so, I can get my teeth cleaned. But, I'm just glad I don't have cavities! Terrible experience…read more I normally do not leave reviews, and I am usually willing to let a bad experience go without saying anything. However, this experience was significant enough that I feel it is important to share what happened. This was my first visit to Fort Worth Dental. No dental treatment was provided. I left the appointment without receiving the care I came in for, yet the practice still submitted a claim to my insurance. During the appointment, I was accused by the dentist Dr. Pham three separate times of drug use based on the condition of my teeth. I do not use drugs. I also do not believe the condition of my teeth was severe enough to warrant such an accusation, particularly from someone who had no knowledge of my dental history. What I found especially unprofessional and ignorant was that, after I corrected the accusation, it was repeated rather than acknowledged and moved past. As a patient, you have to trust your dental provider to listen to you, respect you, and approach your care professionally. I felt that trust was violated during my very first visit. Patients should be able to seek dental care without being subjected to unsupported accusations, particularly when those accusations are repeated after being corrected. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this practice to anyone who values being treated with basic respect, professionalism, and trust. The dentist was confidently incorrect and made the entire situation extremely unprofessional.
