Went for 1st visit to this new dentist--I wanted an oral exam and to have my teeth cleaned. I was…read morehaving no problems with my teeth. They did a full set of x-rays, did exam, and told me that I needed a root canal, a crown, and scaling and planning! All of this could be done for the reduced price of around $2700. They refused to clean my teeth or go any further unless I had all of this dental work done. Needless to say, since I had no symptoms of any problems and had been perfectly fine at my previous dentist 1 year ago, I asked for my x-rays so I could get another opinion. They refused to give me the originals (copies are pretty much worthless) and after a long, stressful discussion, they took an additional x-ray and gave it to me. I went to another dentist. I have no dental problems, I do not need a root canal, I do not need a crown, I do not need scaling and planning. I got my teeth cleaned, and I'm good to go! Birchwood Family Dentistry advertises "Let us give you something to smile about!" Well, I certainly did not leave there with a smile, but rather with frustration and high blood pressure. I rate this dentist poor, and recommend that you stay away.

I love Dr. Fraser and his staff. I've been coming here for a few years now, ever since I moved here…read morefrom CA. Husband and his family members have been going here for years, and everybody has said nothing but positive things. I'd give them five stars, but the scheduling and availability is pretty tricky. First off, they are open Monday-Thursday 7am-3pm. If you have an emergency, you can reach them after hours, but unless it's REALLY bad, you will have to wait until regular business hours to get your problem remedied. Even at times when you know you need to get a filling or something else, you have to come in and have it diagnosed and then come back another day to actually get the job done. It's not a huge deal, but considering that we live pretty far from the office, it is a bit cumbersome to travel back and forth on such short notice. Also, once you have an appointment, if you need to change it, their availability is pretty tough to have it switched because there are just so many patients that go to him. So, if you want to schedule an appointment, make sure you schedule at least 3-4 weeks in advance to a desired time frame. However, given all that, I still come back here for all my dental cleaning. Dr. Fraser himself is really warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. He is detailed, thorough in his exams, and gives you an honest opinion on everything under the sky (from teeth whitening, flossing technology, even future shortcuts to save you money). I also love the fact that he does an oral exam and checks your salivary glands, lymph nodes, and any abnormalities in your mouth. His team of hygienists are nice, professional, clean, and detailed as well. I've had over 4 of his hygienists work on me, and they all do a great job. They make you feel very comfortable too! :) Even though I have to drive about 70 miles to get my teeth cleaned twice a year here, it's totally worth it. I have yet to find someone who is just as thorough and approachable as Dr. Fraser. I really trust him and his staff, but I just wish scheduling was easier.
