Lakeshore Oral Surgery in Chesterfield, Mi I just called the billing department over there to ask about this bill. To explain that I have been receiving these invoices with amount due being $0.00 until this week when I got an invoice for $795.00. Threatening collections. I swear I was nice and attempting to explain my confusion, and that I have the voicemail from Jan. 31, 2024 from LOS confirming my insurance determination to pay for my tooth attraction...WELL I was met with the most nasty, rude lady ever!! She said they have spoken to me several times and that I was rude and hung up on them. I told her there was NO way that was me! I have not spoken to them since the day I left their office. She says, and loudly, "She see's it in her notes right here that they have talked to me and that I hung up on them". So I ask her for the phone number they called, which she says "We have the right number!" She tells me that I was not insured at the time of the extraction, which I tell her that is impossible! I have never been without coverage! I had just used my insurance two days prior to the surgery, can she please read me the numbers she has for my insurance..again I am met with attitude and rudeness! Now I am just dumbfounded!! I mean why is this lady being so damn nasty to me?? I am not being rude or loud, I am trying to understand what the hell is happening. I mean they must have something wrote down wrong, flipped a number some where. I am just trying to help them fix whatever is wrong. She then tells me I will have to speak to her office manager, to which I agree. She then tells me she (the office manager) will have to call me back, she is out of the office today. Of course I want to check and make sure she has my correct phone number on file, after all i was just told they have talked to me several times and I hung up on them (all of which is not true, NOT ME)...and I swear on a stack on bibles this woman starts yelling at me that she has the correct number, me, "Can you please read it to me so I can verify?" Her, "I have caller id, we have to correct number" She says this loud and so super snarky. I have her on speaker phone, my son, who was across the room calls her a Bitch, she hears it and starts in with that...I ask for her name, she will not give it to me. She is still rambling on about being called a Bitch from my kid, not even me. I ask again for her name and she hung up on me. So I am left sitting here wondering what the hell just happened??? All I was trying to do was verify they had the correct numbers, that there has been a billing mix up on their end and help try to fix it..and I was met with the meanest, rudest person I have yet to encounter in my 57 years!!

    I was in pain. Extreme pain…read more My trusted dentist referred me to Bay Pointe because x-rays showed no abnormalities in a molar I suspected of being the problem. The team at Bay Pointe squeezed me into their schedule and was prepared to do an emergency root canal. Upon a very thorough investigation, it was determined a crack in my molar was the issue. (the use of a special dye made it visible) After sharing with me that a root canal would not solve my problem, they contacted a highly rated oral surgeon and made an appointment on my behalf (again, getting me 'squeezed into' a schedule). The next day I had the troublesome molar extracted. Every member of Bay Pointe's team was very kind, courteous, empathetic, and most of all, highly professional. Their knowledge and performance define 'excellence'.

They wanted me to pay almost twice as much as the out-of-pocket portion for the root canal. Suspecting something suspicious, I told them I had to go to the bank and get the money they were demanding. I was told that unless I paid them then and there, I wouldn't get the root canal, and my insurance and I would still be on the hook for the exam and x-rays. No root canal for me! My subsequent call to my insurance provider shed more light on the matter. They were trying to get more than one and a half times what they were supposed to charge!!! AMAZING!!!

    I am not sure if I will go here for my implant and possible sinus lift. My dentist recommended them…read morebut I am not sure for a couple of reasons. First, it started in the waiting room with loud, jungle music playing. It made me nauseous and put my nerves on edge. I was told that it couldn't be turned down because the system is all connected. Perhaps the young staff has never heard of radios. You can buy one for each room and put it at the volume and on the station that you like. Second, they automatically included the cost of prp in my estimate. I have had prp on my foot. I don't think it is worth the extra $600 but apparently patients aren't given a choice. I am going to my previous implant dentist for a consultation and see what they say. Money is definitely a consideration since I will be paying almost $6000.

If you read the reviews from the Gross Pointe location, this seems to be an unethical practice of theirs, and the owner uses the excuse that they're a growing company, so errors like this are basically normal! And this kind of response from an owner further explains the reason for the poor customer service and their unprofessionalism. They "claimed" that they couldn't do the surgery because she had small veins, so we were told that the surgery had to be done at a hospital. That was over two weeks ago. And I never heard anything from their office regarding rescheduling the surgery, yet they charged my credit card for the almost $2k payment. Due to Tonya's and Tammy's rudeness, lack of empathy and HORRIBLE customer service today, I requested a refund and I was told that I would NOT be getting a full refund AND I would have to wait weeks before my refund is processed!! Running away with my hard earned money is never an option, so I will be filing a claim with my credit card company, I'm submitting a case with the Better Business Bureau, I'm sending a letter the attorney generals office and I'm filing a complaint with our dental insurance company. Not everyone knows their consumer rights, but thankfully I do!! So let the legal proceedings begin! **BEFORE YOU BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH THIS OFFICE, do yourself a favor and read the negative reviews from their other offices...regretfully, I didn't read them until today, and now I'm paying for it!! Horrible business practices and even worse customer service!!
