They school PE kit and accessories such as school bags. Alongside school uniform Jo Brand Junior sells occasion wear with formal dresses for girls and suits and waistcoats for boys. Although there are a rather daunting number of school uniforms to choose from, the shop is laid out in an organised way and all the products are clearly visible. The woman who works there seems friendly and helpful so you can expect good customer service if requiring help with sizes/styles. All parents of school-age children in Meanwood must be very grateful for the existence of this little shop so they don't have to travel further afield to get their kids kitted out for school.

It has school uniforms for a huge range of local schools (including some that appear to wear maroon blazers and little straw hats...so jealous!) as well as generic uniform staples. They also sell brownie and cubs uniforms and P.E. kit including gym skirts, shorts polo shirts, plimsolls and gym bags. Other items include wellies, flasks, school bags and coats. If you want a one stop shop to get your kids school gear sorted, this is your place. She returned and slammed the blazer on on the rack in front of us. Later we were trying on other clothes and the Manager came to me and told me I had been reported by the girl who brought the blazer as being disrespectful. I said I did not understand as I had only asked the girl to bring the right size a 33 not a 34. The whole Incident was less than 5 seconds and it was four words " no it's a 33". But she insisted I was disrespectful. We finished our shopping and I paid for our items and asked to speak to the Manager again because I wanted to write to the owner as I had shopped there for years. She returned and told me she owned the shop and she was not interested in my comments and when my wife protested we were asked to leave the shop or they would call the police. So I would not recommend this shop.

Within eight minutes the manager had come out of the shop photographed our car and uploaded it to a parking fine site. We were sent a £100 fine in the post a week later. We know the times because we have the till receipt and the fine time on the letter. Over the years we have spent a great deal on money in this shop on uniform for our four children. No more. We will contest the fine, but be warned this is not a customer friendly shop. There is another shop which does uniform in Harrogate, try that one first.

Would DEFINITELY recommend this shop as they have always stuck to their word and have never let me down. The service is excellent and the family that owns the business is the most humblest family I have ever met. My youngest daughter will be starting school soon and I can't wait for her to start as I know that I can always count on the uniform shop and I will definitely be staying with these guys until she's 16. They also gave my daughter a chocolate! :)

I've been shopping here for my child's school uniform and always found the staff helpful and never had any problems until I tried to return 3 jumpers today. When I unpacked them at home yesterday I noticed that the material had completely changed and they were a lot thicker. I returned to the shop to see if they had any jumpers in the previous, softer material but they didn't in my son's size and I was told they wouldn't be getting any more in. When I asked for a refund and showed my receipt I was told this wasn't policy (the owner pointed to a sign on the cash desk, I hadn't ever noticed this before) and that I should have checked the jumpers. I explained that I wasn't told that there were 2 different types of materials for the jumpers so I didn't know to check. After some to and fro and getting nowhere I ended up taking the jumpers. I got home and noticed on the Returns and Exchange Policy it says 'Exchanges and returns are not a problem. Ross's

Ross's supplies loads of schools uniforms as well as Brownies, Rainbows etc. There is one small secret here common along Middlesbrough locals and that's the plimosolls they sell. They are a big fashion hit among the people of Middlesbrough and you'll find boys and girls alike own at least one pair. Ross's stocks them and sell them for about £6 I think? Might be slightly more. If you're shopping for school uniform get it in the first week of the holidays if possible, leave it until the last week and the queue is out the door. As you can't pick the clothes off the rails you have to wait for the staff to get them out from behind the counter and so each customer spends about ten mintues on average with a member of staff. It's standard prices but can get expensive. The staff are really helpful and polite, I find they know their stuff pretty well. The shop is also quite small.

It is not as easy to get to as there is no parking nearby when you need to pop after school for that new school jumper. I have always found them to be well stocked on all but one occassion when I needed a new Business Jacket for my daughters school. It seemed to take ages to get the size and she had to wear a jacket falling to bits for a while! The staff are extremely well organised and know where everything is in the shop. It is not a pretty shop to be inside but I believe they dont need to sell themselves in pretty premises when they are the only shop to stock many school uniforms.I would prefer to keep the price down. One thing that amazes me is no matter what I have gone in for with my children , the staff know exactally what size I need by looking..how do they do this? Beware, at the end of the summer holidays you will queue outside the door , everybody including your neighbour will be there!
