Dr, Price was supposed to help my husband, now deceased, who had Parkinson's. My husband kept…read morecomplaining that his medication was wearing off. Price dismissed that. He made me cry when my vulnerable husband was lying there and Price actually, said, "I don't want you as a patient and no one else will either! " We were finally able to switch to another neurologist, who was also a motion specialist. That doctor put my husband on a different medication and the "wearing off" stopped. It was a normal condition in Parkinson's and Price had no knowledge at all about it. I recently needed a neurologist and my only request was that it wouldn't be Price! He plays in a band and a woman in my husband's Parkinson's support group jokingly said, "I'd like to bomb that bar where he is playing!" I also believe he is on the spectrum;probably Aspergers.

A truly bizarre experience that left me in tears of confusion after suffering from a seizure…read more When I mentioned to him that the Keppra I was prescribed was giving me every possible bad side effect and asked to be taken off of it, he snapped "YOUR TOO FAT. GO SEE A PSYCHIATRIST" and stormed out of the room. And his slovenly appearance is the rotten cherry on top Something ain't right with this guy, and he sure as hell doesn't need to be "treating" sensitive issues like strokes, seizures, etc, when people are in a fragile state and need good medical attention! And the poor office staff seems so embarrassed and weirded out by him as well. Stay away from this one. Is this guy really a doctor???? Seriously, WTF????

It's really tough when your first experience with a local Neurologist happens on an urgent basis…read more Why? Because if you're like me it would take a record breaking migraine headache sent from the bowels of hell that pitched tent in my brain then sent out scouts which set up camp in the rest of my body and refused to leave for nearly 10 days rendering me completely disabled and wishing for death. Migraine headaches are no joke and anyone who has a history of them or not yet suffers at their occurrence knows their ability to debilitate even the strongest person... So in my case I was at the mercy of my PCP as I was completely unable to do the research myself and select my own doc. I got Dr. Reza Ehyai located just down the street from my PCP Dr. Sockolov's office on Scripps Drive yet despite the fact that the horrific migraine headache had resulted in a loss of my vision and fixed and dilated pupil in my right eye his office refused to see me right away and I had to wait weeks to be seen. Once inside his office I realized it wasn't due to the over booked office or supply and demand that caused the delay in my appointment but was instead due to the way this doctor prefers to run his business. He even insists on doing his own dictation and transcription which causes a terrible delay in obtaining your treatment records as well as isn't truly patient centered care. This is a cheapskate tactic and a way to save money yet offers paying consumer patients the short end of the stick. I ended up having an MRI and MRA of my brain. That procedure went well enough as it was performed at an outside facility. He's not the rudest medical doctor I've ever encountered yet his bedside mannerisms as well true concern for this patient was lacking. One area that truly concerned and frightened me was that of his desire to prescribe blood pressure medication to me to treat my chronic migraines YET even though he had my current blood pressure reading taken inside his office on that day which was well below normal as I have lower blood pressure verses higher. He completely failed to catch that as he explained to me the three medications he was considering for my case; two of which were blood pressure meds. Had I not have been able to speak for myself nor bring to his attention the fact that giving me blood pressure medication which can also be used to treat chronic migraines when I already have low blood pressure naturally could have quite likely have killed me causing severely low blood pressure or at least I would have suffered other serious medical complications from taking the medications. Once I discussed this with him he agreed it wasn't going to be possible to use that type of medication and so strongly suggested the use of another medication which also treats seizures but works with migraines. Hell to the NO! The side effects and second hand potential for long term let alone short term side effects from seizure medication for me; aren't worth the risk by taking it when I have no history of seizures. True I am a nurse and have some knowledge of this stuff but what about the other poor people who don't? I guess I could go on and on but there's no need. I'm still in the market for his replacement but in the meantime felt I'd better put this experience out there in case it helps others.

My experiences (several visits) were wonderful. I found him to be very thoughtful, observant and…read morekind. Unlike many doctors he never rushed me. A fairly quiet and calm man Dr. Ehai asked the appropriate questions, listened to my answers, then ordered testing that should have been ordered by my primary care doctor. I highly recommend him as I believe him to be a considerate doctor who cares for his patients.
