The last physician I saw at the Adult Continuity Clinic was Dr. Brickman, who has positive reviews…read morefrom most patients, and who I did feel took the time to review my case and explain my continued care options. He has competency in the treatment area I am needed expertise in; I do not feel that the other medical professionals there do. The first resident I saw there never bothered to scan the prior medical records I had brought with me, nor note the file they had been discussed, nor did her attending physician, because Dr. Brickman saw nothing in my record to refer to during our conversation. I was not tested for Vitamin D when I stated prior deficiency issues, which go along with health issues I have had, and my level was low when tested on the second visit. The second visit, prior to seeing Dr. Brickman, a different attending physician told me my issues were likely due to menopause, when I had stated I had ongoing medical issues well before my present life stage. They of course wanted to refer me (in my experience, many GPs would rather treat a broken toe that a complex health issue), but I was trying to at least rule out certain things before a referral, to make sure I was seeing the correct specialist (s). And, the third time I went in, the front desk staff person did not know the difference between two medical specialties with "ology" at the end of their names, and when I told her, I got a blank "deer in the headlights" stare. I had noticed previously on their patient portal, there is no email address, and when I went in today, I also noticed no upload feature to send my medical documents to. In the day of hacking and phishing, it would be wise as well as convenient to have an upload feature on their patient portal, but instead you either have to mail in documentation or wait until your next visit and bring it with you (only for them to probably lose that or not scan it, too). I am neither impressed by their tech or their clinic administration. It is a shame, because I feel Dr. Brickman would be a good physician to see for local care if I can't make it to a specialist at the time, but there have been too many other issues.

this is for primary care. was told this is a teaching school, and prescriptions handled by Dr…read moreDavid Jenkinson. I had a prescription I take 1 tab once a day, prescribed 4 tabs a day, thank God I pay attention. I have a prescription that is controlled, he constantly sends a script for twice a day when I take 3. after calling and calling they will apologize and fix it, but then my insurance denies it because they continually make the same mistake. spoken to the office numerous times about these errors to be told they will work on it in the future, but the next month it's the same thing. Dr Jenkinson told me he can send whatever amount he feels to try to cover his tracks, then why do you fix it?? insurance tells me he's supposed to notify me of dosage changes as well. what is the point in having an attending physician that has to be consulted before you even leave and is responsible for writing scripts if the medical student I saw completes everything correctly and he doesn't pay any attention? Only been a patient for about 8 months. You have to call for days to get any kind of answers. Ive had to chase them pretty much every month about an issue and the staff is rude. Went in to speak directly to doctor and he discharged me for being belligerent towards his staff. Started disputing my dosage on a medication, but didn't bring it up when I've been seen? if that's how he felt, why would he be bringing it up after he prescribed for 8 months? Then, he sent in the script for the amount I've always received...Dr Jenkinson was cold, and could've cared less what his office had been doing. He told me he wrote the script for 3 months, I explained my insurance doesn't allow me to get 2 months at a time. He said, "oh well, I sent it" and refused to send it in as a 30 day. My pharmacy filled it for 30 days fortunately with 2 refills. Told me I need my psychiatrist because I told him this issue is effecting my mental health. my insurance is now investigating to see if this is an issue with facility, and was advised that circumstances can effect their relationships with doctors writing incorrect script. Insurance has reached out to Aiken Physician Alliance and they haven't answered.
