Who would have thought one could find very, very good Vietnamese pho in Aachen, Germany??? We had…read morejust arrived into town by train, hopped on a bus, and made a bee-line to the restaurant over cobblestone streets with our bags before even stopping at the hotel. It was completely worth it. The soup was legit, filled with generous cuts (not slices) of beef (or duck, in our son's case) and vegetables. We liked not having to add our own green vegetables and waiting for it to fully cook in the hot soup, because they added them in for us. Personally, I found the broth a little on the sweet side, but would give their pho 9/10. Skip the coffee, which isn't actual Vietnamese coffee, which may not be something they can get. We notice they don't have a beef ball option for their pho. Again, it may not be something they can get. Finally, our waiter is a lovely graduate student at the university from Bangladesh working on his master's degree. He told us that it's exam time for university students this month!

The vegetarian potstickers were my favorite, everything was cooked well, fresh, hot, and we were never left waiting between each order. Also had some pork with sticky rice wrapped in a banana leaf, and crispy noodles with vegetables. The service was very friendly and the food was great. We paid €32 for 4 plates and 3 drinks, which overall I felt to be a decent price.

Tang Wang, unassuming from the outside, is an establishment of authentic, tasty Szechuan cuisine. The baked fish that we so wanted was two river fishes crispy fried sitting atop a pile of potato, rice cake, lotus root, cauliflower and other vegetables. Other highlights include the green crunchy vegetables ( I can much on that all day) and the spicy tripe dishes. They also have fried sesame balls that we ordered to round out our spicy meal. Freshly fried, the balls were crispy and the red bean filling nice and sweet.

I hoped for the best and ordered beef noodle soup with green veggies, but what I got was almost black, cold and tough sliced meat, sliced tomatoes, instant noodles and hot oil water. I couldn't eat more than a few bites. :( I just wanted to pay and leave, but then I noticed that they charged me twice for my single order of green tea. And my server didn't seem to speak German or English. There are so many delicious options in the area - just steer clear of this place.
