People have asked many times, where should I buy all the Indian spices and fresh herbs like…read morecoriander and mint from? I am quite surprised to see no one has the idea of a lovely indian grocery store keeps different Indian vegetables, variety of all the spices, curry pastes, Indian Paneer , variety of poppadums...Hmm yummy and lot more to explore. As an Indian chef, I would like to highly recommend this store where I buy all my groceries from. Those who love to cook curry and try indian cuisine, this is a best place to buy the ingredients at so reasonable cost. Fresh coriander leaves or mint will cost 70 cents a bunch. Yess crazy isn't it? Normally if you go a regular store like Rewe, Edeka etc. a few sprigs bunch will cost u around 3€. If you are experimenting with the Indian food and don't want to buy the 1/2 kg packets of spices, here is the deal. You can buy all variety of small packets of spices for about 1.50€ each. Isn't that great! Ambience is so nice. Right in the city center and accessible through public transport tram no 20, 21 and get down at Karlstrasse. Just 50 meters from there. Right opposite Kare( furnishing store). Try it and keep loving and cooking indian cuisines ;-)

Whereas I was always treated well in local german stores, this visit to the Indian store gave me a rude shock. The surprise didnt end there- the maggi that I bought from this store was priced in INR and clearly marked as " only for sale in India, Nepal and Bhutan". Clearly not ethical business practices i suppose! Perhaps the person at the store needs to do some soul searching to understand if this is how he wants India to be perceived. Even worse, he didnt even give me a bill to understand how the cost was itemized. Never going back!

This is the largest Asian market I have seen/been to in Munich…read more I have found basically everything I need for creating (almost) any Asian-inspiried dish! The produce is reasonably priced, and they sell things from galanga root to celery, to tomatoes, carrots, onions - you name it. The shelves are fully stocked with products, and their selection of sauces makes my eyes get as wide as saucers. Their frozen food section is also pretty impressive - but I would also say relatively standard for Asian markets in the area. Not only do they sell Asian groceries, but magazines and things of that nature. I'm not too sure about the types or quality of the magazines as I am not Asian, nor do I read any type of Asian languages. Rosenheimerplatz is like a mecca of Asian shops and eateries. I was very constructive and suggested to look back the video recording, which is very reasonable and a fast solution, because it will be fairly easy to tell 25€ and 5€ from the video recording. But the shop owner were extremely unfriendly and aggressive against my suggestion. To me this is difficult to understand, because usually people want to solve the misunderstanding. This alerted me, and I called the police. But of course after the police came, the police cannot do to much. Eventually, I was still not able to get my money back.... Of course calling the police is not just for 20€, but there is sufficient reason to suspect this shop owner often does this trick to their customers. I have never received such terrible customer service anywhere in Germany! They know exactly the police can do nothing them. Be careful if you shop there !!
