Wow! I had an amazing experience here, enjoying an awesome fade as well as a hot towel razor shave. Ashton was professional, conversational, and gave me one of the best haircuts I've had. Starting with a skin fade, it progressed in 1/2 increments, and he gave me a more sophisticated look than what I had even asked for! The shave was awesome. I had a full beard, and he left my face as smooth as a baby bottom. It was relaxing, invigorating, and well worth it! Found a barber by the name of Kristina at Ashton's which is right by my house. Surprisingly they are open on Sundays and Mondays which is my days off. I booked her thru Booksy thru reviews and looking thru yelp of course. I found it funny to see her review the shop herself as an employee which made me feel like the shop will have a fun vibe for sure. To start it off the pups that greet you were amazing and it's so cute to see one command to go to their bed and both pups just lay there in their spot. Kristina was such a fun person to be around and I told her how I like my hair and she listened and was very gentle. There's barbers that are rough that really make you feel like they don't wanna cut your hair or they base it on speed. The 30-45 min went by so fast and the fade was awesome. I looked somewhat decent again. I'm excited to work with Kristina going forward to keep me looking somewhat young and fresh. Ashton the owner there is a cool guy too! Of all the barbers, Ashton is great but that Filipino girl is amazing. Hahahah All jokes aside, I will make a review. This classic barbershop has a feel like home. I am a barber here at Ashton's and I don't think I've ever worked at a place that has made me happier. Occasionally I'll bring my dog, she loves to play and if you're waiting for a cut, she's more than happy to help you pass the time. All the people that come here regularly have great energy and are so kind. We really do have the best clients. I've been working here for 2 years on and off and everyone that works here has a wonderful personality unique to themselves, there's no jealousy between barbers and clients, we all try to help each other out, and it's beautiful. I enjoy a nice relaxing shave, it's something every guy should have, however this was not the experience I wanted. Started with the call to see if they had openings. The girl moved the phone away from her face and then yelled to see had an opening. Ok, so what about the shave itself. Well that was pretty basic, was mostly a electric razor, a few hot towels and then the straight razor portion. What stood out for me was how the lady providing the service was talking to others in the shop and swearing and talking about how someone she knew "banked his seed" for later use. However she used different terms. Finding out at the end that it was cash only was a nice surprise. This would be a good thing to point out when you make the appointment. Overall, just not for me. So my boyfriend has been going to Sports Clips forever! 9 out of 10 times, his hair comes out terrible. It's either uneven or just not really cleaned up well. I always end up fixing it for him. I'm not a barber or anything but I can at least cut a straight line. Anyways, he had the worst haircut and I was finally able to get him to go to a proper barber shop. There were a few places that I looked at that were good options and close by our house but most of them didn't answer the phone. I noticed Ashton's and it was a little more of a drive than the other ones but my boyfriend was sold by the free beer. We gave them a call and someone actually answered the phone. Amanda was able to take him for a 2pm reservation. The people there were so nice. I was watching them cut the hair and both men's hair were turning out clean! My boyfriend always goes with a crew cut and his turned out awesome! Very cleanly done with a great fade. Definitely his new go-to barbershop. I highly recommend this place. I always go every two weeks for a cut and it's always consistent for me. They do allow walk ins, but I would recommend scheduling an appointment especially on a busy day like Saturday. I was in town for the Drake concert. My barber in Houston had the runs so he cancelled on me, but there's no way I was going to be in Vegas all weekend without a fresh cut. I read some reviews online and they all lead me to Ashton's Classic Barber Shop. Hell, Ashton himself works there so I made an appointment with the man whose name is on the building. I went in nervous because I've been getting cuts from the same barber of 6 years. This dude Ashton gave me a combover mid fade with a part line, faded my beard and straight razored everything. I normally don't want to give businesses bad reviews but this one warranted it. Gave this place 2 chances to cut my hair. 1st time - the guy in the first chair on the left was so interested in what was on the TV(medicinal marijuana) that he wasn't even really paying attention to my cut. Then he put in a hard part which I didn't ask for. Overall the cut was just sloppy and not what I was expecting. 2nd time - lucky me, I got the same guy. Thought let me give this guy a chance to redeem himself. NOPE. I told him what I wanted and he totally forgot to cut the top and only faded the sides. Then he decided he was going to line me up (which I hate and didn't ask for) and that was just crappy. Used the clippers but never cleaned it up with a razor. I was able to schedule an appointment within four hours from when I called which was great. I walked in and was quickly attended to and started right away. The process at this point was great. I then started getting my haircut and all the barbers were distracted by the TVs. Needless to say it was one of the longer haircuts I've ever had in my life. I was a bit nervous about seeing the quality when it was done, but I was surprised my haircut came out so well. I definitely think I'll be coming back here for haircuts as it's closer to my new place. The price is fair. It's $20 cash only for a men's haircut. Gave them a shot, but not again. The website said "Precision haircut, hot towel treatment, vibrating shoulder massage, straight razor neck clean-up" for $20. Yeah I hope you're not expecting any of those things. I went in and my hairstylist didn't really seem to care much at all. I only really wanted the sides of my head cleaned up, and I realize that I have to pay full price even if it is just a clean up, but what got me feeling robbed was that I didn't get ANY of the things the website advertised. No hot towel treatment, no shoulder massage, no straight razor neck clean up. Just a quick buzz and they charged me $20. But of course it's cash only so I had to use the ATM with a ridiculous $3 fee. Add tip to that and I'm coming out having paid a lot more than $20 for something any new hire at Great Clips could do. I expected better, that's why I come to barber shops like this. Took the hubby here to get his head shaved and beard trimmed. The guy(didn't get his name darn) did a great job. It was 20 bucks for head shave plus 5 for the beard trim. I dropped 20 bucks on the way out and the guy ran out after me to give it to me. Now that is a wow experience for you. We tried here twice. Never again. Unprofessional and bad cuts with two different hair stylists. The first time we came in, we didn't know how this place works if they take appointments or not. Because some places around here doesn't. We did a walk-in. They said the wait is 5 minutes. We ended up with this lady 5th chair from the front door, by the restroom. She was awful. She made my husband waited (20 minutes) for his haircut while she was on the phone chatting to where Barb went to her and told her someone is ready for his cut. It took her another 5 minutes to take him. Then in the middle of cutting his hair she was on the phone again chatting. This is very unprofessional. Her cut was awful, probably because she wasn't focus on cutting my husband's hair. It came out uneven. Stay clear from this lady. Second time now.....From reading the reviews, it's Barb who seems to do the best cuts here. I called in yesterday for a haircut with Barb. I spoke to Barb yesterday and I can't remember if she took my number down, but I don't think so. I would think most place will ask for your number if they don't have it on their caller ID. I was thinking nowadays, every business has caller ID. Anyways, we showed up at 2:55PM today for my husband's haircut appointment at 3:00 PM today with Barb. I was thinking how unprofessional it was that it's 3:05 PM and no Barb. Then this lady the 4th chair from the door said, "Whose up next at 3:10 PM?"
