Just a 10 minute walk to the town centre and the great pubs on offer, you feel very remote but with the bonus of having great amenities such a short walk away. There's also a big Coop and Tesco if you forget anything. Lodges are all self catering with extensive facilities. Owners are very friendly and will help you out if you want to go on a nice walk or see some lovely scenery. The only downside is there's no wifi available in the lodges. If they had this it would be awesome as mobile coverage is patchy.

The food is great (Indian). The rooms are good and reasonably large although a couple of the single rooms I didn't like because the bed was parallel to the door and you slept either facing the wall or facing the door with the light shining through the slight gap at the bottom - yes fussy but soon got to know which rooms to ask for! The decor of many of the rooms is different (different nice not different poor) - room 8!

It is ornate, really large and quite beautiful. The bad: not a single television works properly. The TV's are either missing an hdmi cable or missing a sky tv box altogether. The TV's that appear to be hooked up correctly, do not have working remotes. Easy to fix. The other big problem is that the next thermostat is programmed to constantly reset to a very low temperature during the day. The place is in Scotland. It needs heat. Coming back at night to a home at 15c or 62 Fahrenheit is a little tough. Fix these problems and it's the finest place I've ever been.

We arrived at 7pm for our £54 room. Great value. The guy on the desk was a really nice guy and welcomed us to the hotel and covered any questions we may have had. He also mentioned the goodnight guarantee. The room was spacious with a sofa and a nice comfy bed. Two extra pillows were supplied on top of the wardrobe just in case. I need two pillows so this was great. Coffee and tea facilities were provided as well as a hairdryer and a TV with digital Freeview. This meant I could watch the last in the series of Celebrity Juice chilled out in bed. In the morning, we handed back the key and was asked if everything was satisfactory. Of course it was and I would recommend anyone visiting the area to check out The Premier Inn for a comfortable base to explore.

A large carpeted stairway leads to the upstairs corridors through open hallways that look down on the living room/hall. It looked grand and cosy at the same time. It was really wonderful! The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was helpful and kind. The on-site dinner experience was exceptionnal. I can only describe the food as simple, hearty, dishes with a gourmet touch. Everything was delicious, without ostentation. A delighful experience throughout.

This is a basic travelers lodge that has seemingly had a complete refurb in the lobby and restaurant areas, but the room we were given did the job, but felt quite tired and old. There really was nothing special about this place, the walls were paper thin and we could hear our neighbours loud and clear all the time we were in the room the same time they were in theirs. Luckily, once sleepy time came, everyone seemed to quiet down. We had dinner here and some prosecco and the dinner was pretty tasty. Everything seemed fresh and cooked well. I went with the fish and chips, a hearty portion that my boyfriend helped me finish eating. He ordered the Balmoral Chicken which was chicken stuffed with haggis, wrapped in bacon. One of his favourite things to cook and eat. He was well chuffed. For dessert, I ordered the sticky toffee pudding which came with ice cream and he ordered the cheese board. Both very tasty. Breakfast the next morning was your bog standard fry up which filled us up and gave us energy for the fun day we had planned after we left the hotel. I wouldn't necessarily come running back here, but for what we paid, it was worth it.
