We had them out a second time to fix our washing machine and it was great! The third time was to fix our cooktop burner, they came out 3 times because they kept getting the wrong part (for 2 months!) and then preceded to charge us 3 trip fees at I believe, was their trip charge at that time, $40 and it wasn't our fault they had to come out 3 times or that it took 2 months for a simple repair! Then, we gave them another chance and we were going to have them fix another burner on our cooktop. They were supposed to come out between 2-4 today and guess what, No Show! I called them just now and they said all their service guys were gone for the day and didn't know what happened! Then I even spoke to James to whom my husband had spoken with and he claimed he had no idea what I was talking about. Then my husband called him and suddenly he remembered! Now I have to be around for another 2 hour window to wait for them again! What is wrong with this company? This will be the last time we use them! My husband went over there to ask some questions about their bill and their service. On top of them putting in a whole new burner, which it didn't need replacing, there was a tiny part that needed to be replaced. My husband literally took a photo and spoke to a technician about what needed to be replaced and he agreed! When we got the bill, the part was $170! The labor was $40 and then there was the trip charge for $90! We live 10 minutes from this place! $299 total. For a 15 minute job! They said to him that they don't know what happened, a common response from them. They took a whole $45 dollars off with no apology on their lack of business sense or caring about their customers taking time off work waiting for a no show!. How does this place stay open? I called into Portland and they are cheaper than this place and we will be having someone from Portland from now on! BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS!

The other afternoon, my mate and I had the day to kill and the Sunny weather inspired a nice walk about Astoria. It was fun stopping in to some of the little shops that we have only seen from behind closed and locked doors or from the road as we drive by en route to other pressing matters. Many of the places that we strolled into, gave us the sad, but usual coastal customer service treatment of ignoring / half-assed enthusiasm / or annoyance that we dare disturb their lack of working. I am proud to report that none of those places made a penny from us just on principal. Posey-Reed was a totally different story indeed. The wonderful lady that owns the shop was friendly, talkative, personable, intelligent, and really enjoys her business. We spent almost an hour in there just chatting and though we didn't "need" anything at all, we were sure to make a few purchases to be good neighbours and reward a business that cares. She obviously isn't going to retire on our $50 dollar contribution, but at least we know it is going to a good place. Nice and deceptively large selection of collectables, antiques, decor, furniture, vintage clothing, and art work. Many toys, books, and even sheet music await you, ALL at modest prices. She will bargain with you on some of the items as well. For those of you into vintage clothing, I highly recommend checking out her selection that is very well organized, eclectic, and at decent prices. I still had sticker shock from another vintage clothing place in town, but Posey-Reed restored my faith in quality and pricing. Do the community a favour and give some business locally. I shopped the store; it is mostly clothing. Some goods in the back. Prices for things that are actually new/unused were high. I thought prices for actual used stuff was 'in the ballpark' but higher than I'd hoped. Checkout was quick and easy. I bought myself a used 3-iron for golf. I was interested in the accusations of excessive CEO pay, so did some research. Goodwill is run independently, this one is GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE COLUMBIA WILLAMETTE. If Goodwill wanted to dispense these accusations of high pay they should just publish compensation in their annual report; yet they dont. One needs to go googling; internet searches showed Michal Miller made better than $600k, and Catherine Hannam well over $400k. So I'm inclined to agree with these excessive pay accusations. Not what I would view as in-line with their mission.
