This was an unique store in the fact that it sells lots of different kinds of items and it was interesting to see what kind of things they sold. Didn't have much interaction with staff there but there was an older blond haired woman who I overheard being very rude to another customer who was simply asking about the price of something. Anyway, they carry a pretty big supply of college sports items and they also sell things like flags and pet items. Need a ceramic skull? This is the place for you! It was just such a strange collection of things for sale that it just didn't make sense to me. Prices seemed a little overpriced but I guess it's to be expected since Mount Dora is a bit of a touristy town. Don't know if I'd go out of my way to come here, there are so many more interesting stores to spend your money in! read more

This a really cool gift shop in downtown Mount Dora. They have several rooms filled with sports team items, flags for your yard, and other assorted gift items. They sell dog themed household goods, bracelets, T shirts, a large selection of greeting cards, hats, coasters, and dish towels. They were also selling masks in case you needed one although hardly anyone in Mount Dora was wearing them. They were also selling $1 bottles of water for those in need a cheap drink while shopping the downtown area. Ashley's Corner carries a lot of items emblazoned with local college sports teams. I really liked the UCF items which included purses, bags, license plate tags, Christmas ornaments, lanyards, jewelry, glasses, key chains, wind chimes, beer bottle cozis, and even over sized underwear. I would have purchased something for my daughter but prices were steep and i wasn't sure what she would have liked best. If you need a gift you can find something for anyone here and you are most likely going to want to pick up a gift for yourself too. read more

Really nice, clean shop in Mt. Dora near The lakeside Inn. There are a lot of college themed gifts, a wall of Masks (during the time of covid), and a lot of unique gift items, which is pretty cool, since getting the right thing is really hard some times. I did not experience any rude staff, the one lady I encountered was friendly and warm. She was responsive to the questions I asked and I gave her one of my kindness rocks to place in her store to hide or give as she sees fit. read more

Not impressed at at all because Im not into logos for any college. I don't do any free adverting except for Yelp. Basically this is what you see in the store stuff for people who need to remember what college they went to. Also this store sells cheap costume jewelry and a bunch of tourist memorabilia. The owner is a racist, rude and disrespectful individual. She should not have a business. I was out with my family who was visiting from Mexico on vacation and Mount Dora was the perfect place to take them. They wanted to get little items to take back with them and we went into this store. The owner began to talk German and stated "do you know what I'm saying" and she began to ask my visitors that they needed to speak English and that this was America. It was the word experience I've ever had. I've lived in Mount Dora for 6 years and I am a part of the Mount Dora Chamber and I am very disappointed that in this time a day a business owner would be so rude, racist, and just flat out nasty. read more

This is my to go place for my sports fan husband, Florida Gator soon, and UVA daughter! Gifts I've not seen elsewhere. Their chimes and mobile garden thingamajigs! Wow! Their owls alone are tremendous. Great place for thank you, office, fun and cheer up gifts! Wine glass and beer carriers, door mats, cards, and garden flags out the wazoo! Allow time to go through the entire selection and don't forget to get the screen savers, really practical and lovely! read more

Walked in ready to buy my son lots of college themed gifts. The blonde woman behind the counter seemed nice, we started talking about masks. I told her that 2 months ago I had already had Covid. She said "get away from me" and "even the word sounds scary" so I left. It was hurtful and embarrassing. She didn't say just kidding or smile or laugh! I thought about calling the news. read more

I am a local and will never shop here again.....owner is a terrible person and not nice at all. We try to give money to help local business and they tell my wife she cant but a sticker for 4$ unless she spends 5$ for debit card...do not buy from this place...we went to Amazon and got it for same price...no problem....when your over price shops close in Mount Dora you will know why.. read more

Both the owner and the woman that was working there about 30 minutes ago had horrible attitudes. We asked to buy a water because we were at the farmers market just before and it was hot out. She asked us one or two so I stopped to ask my partner if he wanted one as well and she decided to try an interrupt us by saying "one or two, one or two, one or two" loudly as I was trying to find out if he wanted one. Extremely awful customer service. Such a shame! We went into here after eating in the area. The store caught our attention with all the cute football stuff they had. When going to pay, I thought I had saw that the coffee cup I wanted to purchase was on sale. So, when I mentioned it to the lady, she said that I saw wrong. So, I went to go double check, just to be safe and as I realized it was one shelf and not the whole section (my mistake on my part) I turned around to her standing out from behind the counter saying "what does that sign say? Nope" and did this 4 times pointing to each section in a nasty tone. So by that point, I told her to forget it, that I wasn't making a purchase anymore. If my MIL hadn't made a purchase before I did, she would of walked out as well with how rude this lady was. read more

I have never been treated so rudely in any retail establishment. I will never set foot in this store again. The employees were very helpful and nice every time I have been in the store, but the owner is terribly rude and basically called me a liar in front of an entire store full of people, over an error in her own inventory records. read more

I too have had incredibly rude experiences at this shop. All three times were by the cashier. I recently purchased a $30 NFL beverage item. The first I used it it had a horrific rattle within the insulation. We went back and explained to the cashier that I simply wanted to exchange it and she shrugged her shoulders and lifted her hands as to suggest oh well. I was floored! I asked her if she was kidding and she said no returns/no exchanges. I had not retained my receipt and asked her to please call the owner because I had spent $130 on my last visit and had planned to buy other things because they really do have adorable things in he store. She finally agreed to the even exchange and despite my better judgement I started to shop for the things I wanted to purchase. She continued to be rude and the situation escalated and I told her that every time I visited that store I found her to be incredibly rude. She asked when and I recited the times one of which was when she refused to let my two year old daughter (who was being potty trained) use their restroom. It was during the art festival so I assumed they wouldn't allow non patrons but 1. this was a toddler ans 2. I spent over $150 in their store. She cited insurance reasons, fine. During this year's show she was rude again and lied to the owner about some she had communicated to me. Yesterday, as I said things escalated and she became defensive when I attempted to give her feedback. My husband became angry and cursed at her which admittedly was inappropriate but she is truly a piece of work. When I asked her if she had read the store's reviews online she said, "No, why would I, I'm not the owner". At that point, I refused to support the store any further and put things down to leave. I won't provide her name but it begins with the letter "A" and my four year old who was upset she wasn't getting a little toy cried and asked me why the lady was being so rude to us! I really do try to support small business but will never spend another penny in this store. read more

Had an incredibly rude experience today walking by this shop. My friend and I were walking past the door as two other ladies were walking out of the store. We had to pause moment to let them walk out, because we have manners. The owner, or possibly the manager, literally yelled at us "CLOSED"!!! And slammed the door and locked it. We had no intention of walking into the store anyway but now we will really never go in there. This is certainly not the way to do business! read more

As the lack of stars indicate, I had a terrible experience in this store and I want to let any unsuspecting future potential customers know. My husband and I found Mount Dora to be a darling town with lots of interesting shops and eateries and Ashley's appeared to be a fun shop too ... until I had an employee treat me like rubbish. Here's what happened so you can decide if you want to be subjected to the same cruel treatment that I received yesterday. A store employee and two other women (I have no idea if these were employees, the manager, the owner or other customers) knew how upset I was when I left and none of them bothered to apologize or accept responsibility, when clearly they made a terrible error in judgment. I picked up six packages of cocktail napkins and one "red solo cup" themed glass that was on a shelf back in a back corner of the shop. At least two shelves were marked 40% off and I thought it would make a funny hostess gift. When I waited for an employee to complete the transaction, I mentioned the 40% off and showed her where I got it. She informed me that it was not 40% off. Even though the item was originally only $11.99, I didn't really think I needed it that badly. I made this error -- and please know that it was my error -- as the item was on a back shelf in a corner and since two of the shelves were marked 40% off, I thought this was too. I explained that I did not want the item and went back up to the counter to pay for the cocktail napkins. A few minutes later, I over heard a woman (in the direction as the same back corner) say, "Can you believe she only wanted to pay $5.00 for this?" It was painfully obvious that she was talking about me -- instead of just coming to the counter and waiting on me. I left the cocktail napkins on the counter, went back to the spot where the three women were walking to the front of the store and asked if she was talking about me. The employee answered, "She was talking to me." I answered her back with something like "I can't believe you just said that," and the three women just looked at me as I turned to leave the store. This treatment was just rude and completely uncalled for. My guess is they knew exactly what had been said and when caught saying it -- just stared at me and came up with anything that would shift the blame to ANYONE other than themselves. The store lost the sale of approximately $28.00 in cocktail napkins and, of course, the red solo cup item what would have been $7.23 -- NOT $5.00. The worst of it is -- the store has lost all integrity with me (and I hope anyone who reads this review.) While I can't describe how upset the actions of this employee and the other two women made me feel, I can tell you that I won't subject myself to this behavior ever again and I hope they will re-think their attitudes as it could happen to any one of them at another store and I am assuming they will feel as badly as I did. When I left the store, I shared what happened with my husband so we ended the shopping in Mount Dora and enjoyed a fabulous Cuban meal not to far away from Ashley's. Just thought you should know about this especially when there are so many cute, fun and friendly shops, why would you take a chance on this one? Thank you. read more
