Despite all the negative reviews, I decided to try this place out. I was very happy with the store and staff. I didn't feel rushed at all and the lady who helped me was wonderful and really let me take my time. read more

I just purchased a new bed frame and adjustable base for my memory foam mattress. I love both, but honestly I want my review to reflect my customer service experience for this transaction. I've had some pretty bad luck with other companies lately, so I particularly appreciate when I get great service. It started in the store with my sales person. Top notch service! My delivery came exactly when expected (actually got us in a little early) Chris and Alex installed everything quickly, and carefully. They cleaned all their debris and left no trace they had been here. They were incredibly courteous and professional. What a breath of fresh air! Finally a company that cares about how they treat their customers. I thought it had become a lost art. So KUDOS to Ashley. You have definitely secured a life long customer from here on out! read more

We are amazed at the lack of customer service at this store. We are planning on purchasing over $8,000 in furniture. We noticed that the online prices differed quite a bit from the local store. When we asked that they match online pricing we were advised by the sales representative, Sarah, that her manager would only price match some of the pieces we wanted to buy. Why pay more when you can order on-line? Before you purchase at this store, check Ashley's website! You may be better off purchasing directly on-line. read more

I was in the market for a new sofa so I went to Ashley HomeStore. I spent some time looking around and found something that I liked: comfortable, nice color, good price. I decided to do the next step in the process which would be to find a sales associate, point to the sofa I like and purchase, say something like "Me want that" and hand them my credit card. I think they would frown on me just taking the sofa out of the store. Some sort of financial transaction would need to take place. Ok, fine, no problem, I can do that. I began to search for a sales associate to help me. This is where the plan fell apart. I COULD NOT FIND ONE SALESPERSON WHO WOULD HELP, LET ALONE ACKNOWLEDGE MY PRESENCE!!! It's not that they were too busy or under staffed. There were plenty of people on the floor and they would approach other customers, ask them if they wanted help, but every one passed me by. This can't be right? Am I just imagining this? I did shower that morning, and I used deodorant so I don't think there was an offending odor. I decided to put my theory to the test. I walked around the store to see what would happen Salesmen were passing me by, not saying anything, then I hear them offering help to other people. I hung out in an area near where a group of sales associates were hanging out, talking. Nope nothing, no offer to help. Perhaps it was my mistake, I should've been flashing dollar bills in my hand. Then the kicker: At the front of the store is a saleslady, and a little further back 2 or 3 salesman are hanging out. The saleslady greets a family as they come in, "Can I help you?" No they're just looking right now. She greets another family, asks if they need help. "No, thanks" Meanwhile, I'm casually looking at the floor displays. I look up at her, she looks for a minute, then looks away!!??? WTF? I left the store, with a not so friendly wave. Why did this happen? Why was I treated so crappily? Here is my theory: Sales people work on commission. They target families, the more children, the better. They might buy several items or bigger items like sectionals. More money for sales people. They target young couples, who appear to be rich. They might just be moving to a new home and will be looking to furnish entire homes. Older people who appear to be rich are also a good target. You know who they don't waste their time with? Single guys who are just dressed casually. No signs of a family, no outward signs of being rich. "Eh...why waste my time?" says greedy salesman, "If they do find something they like, they'll probably just buy buy a small sofa or a chair. Probably an inexpensive one, too! That's less money for me. He'll probably need to get financing, and he's probably a bad credit risk." Well, I'm not a credit risk. it would've been an easy sale. 15 minutes tops. I know what I wanted. I would've put it on my credit card. And you'd get your commission, Greedy Salesman. But that's OK, judging by the lousy reviews other people have given this place, I don't think I missed much. read more

My husband and I shopped all day in the furniture capital and finally chose a sectional at Ashley. We did this 2/13/15. We told them we would pick it up but they said it wouldn't be at the store until 2/28. That was too long for us. They then proceeded to tell us that if we paid for shipping and had it delivered that we could get it by February 19th. This made next to no sense to my husband and I but we agreed anyway as we were finishing up the paperwork they told us it would actually not be to us until February 23rd. They said that they would take $50 off the shipping for us. They told me they guaranteed it would be here on the 23rd as we explained that was the only way we could justify paying for the delivery if it was just going to be 5 more days and we would be able to pick it up. I called today February 20th to confirm the delivery date is February 23rd and was actually laughed at by the first woman that I talked to. She explained that there was no way we would get our furniture on the 23rd and it wasn't even scheduled to be delivered until March 17th. We were irate. No one even called to tell us and we were duped into paying for delivery just so that we could get it by the 23rd. When I called the manager of the store he said he doesn't know how we could have ever even been quoted the 23rd because there were 17 people ahead of us for the same couch in the supply warehouse was really backed up. Needless to say we cancelled our order for their horrible business in the only reason it gets one star is because they credited our money back. Stay away from this store! read more

Horrible customer service! I wish I had read these reviews before we decided to buy from them. We ordered a sectional couch in January from the Raleigh store and had our delivery scheduled for 2/14. After not hearing anything I called on 2/13 to inquire about delivery time and was told one of the pieces was on back order. They didn't bother to communicate that to me. Then delivery was scheduled again, but when it came time they were only going to deliver 3 of 4 pieces. Not acceptable. Then the snow delayed our next delivery even though we were scheduled on a Saturday and the snow was gone. By the time they rescheduled one of the pieces was damaged so they had to delay again. I think we scheduled 3 more times and every time they would come up with an excuse that there was a manufacturing delay on one of the pieces, something was damaged, etc. But never the same piece. So where were the pieces that were previously ready disappearing to? Nobody can answer that. The manager at the store just blamed the warehouse and wouldn't do anything to help. The warehouse apologizes and says we have to contact the store. I finally cancelled the order today. The manager, Lee, seemed relieved to not have to deal with it anymore. That makes me feel much better about my decision. read more

I had a pleasant time shopping at Ashley and purchasing my furniture. The sales associate, Dan who worked with me, was informative, polite and not pushy. So why only 3 stars? The delivery process was abysmal. I received no notification from anyone about my upcoming delivery. I had to call and confirm the delivery myself and the first time I called the person on the other end treated me like I was an annoyance. Around 30 minutes prior to the movers arriving I received a call from a recorded voice telling me that the movers were coming which sounded both very impersonal and kind of scary. Why not have the movers call? The movers came and they were both nice guys, however one piece of my furniture, the entertainment center, arrived unassembled. I then spent a lot of time on the phone with Ashley customer service and they advised me to either wait 2 weeks for a technician to come to assemble it - turns out they actually don't do that - or refuse the delivery and wait for another. Having read on this site about the horrors of how long a re-delivery takes I decided to accept the delivery and assemble the entertainment center myself which took a few hours to do. Ashley Furniture agreed to refund my delivery cost. Ashley Furniture very much needs to get their act together on delivering furniture as that's a big part of the customer service experience! read more

ABSOLUTE CROOKS! I wish I could give zero stars because they are worthless individuals. NEVER purchase a single item from there. You will thank me later. I purchased a couch from them.. don't get me wrong.. absolutely beautiful furniture. I love my couch. But unfortunately the company's customer service does not follow suit. First of all, I bought my couch in 2014. I was told upon signing I am on the 3 yr no interest promotion. AWESOME! Right? Next... a year passes by. I am on my final payment.. Got it down to roughly $80. My bill comes... $290?! What?! I call customer service.. "No ma'am if you read your bill you were on a 12 month promotion" NOOO it says 3 years. She explains that that's not what I signed for. Whatever - so if I pay this $290 I will be done with you all correct?! She agreed and I paid under the impression that I was done with them. Why is it a month later and I receive ANOTHER bill from them for $290 stating that since I did not pay by the 9th of January I accrued interest. WHAT DO YOU MEAN. The last lady I spoke with said if I paid it off I am DONE! No Ma'am you are not. Lawyers will be involved if I receive ONE MORE BILL from them in March. read more

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE!!! Take all these warnings seriously. My wife and I recently purchased a dinning room table and 8 chairs. They were delivered at different days and all had issues. The fabric was torn (under the "protective" plastic, chairs were broken, screws missing and stripped, chairs were not level, areas were chipped and missing finish, etc... We informed Ashley Furniture the exact day each piece of furniture was delivered. We gave them LOTS of chances to make it right. When they discovered the furniture could not be repaired they told me we had already passed the date of return and their store policy was not to offer a refund. I hit the ceiling!!! Were they serious??? OMG!!! We gave THEM TIME to fix the carp. It is against my policy to buy junk furniture at retail price. After lots of threats, getting VERY ugly on multiple phone calls/emails (which they NEVER respond) and actually driving to the store on Glenwood Ave in Raleigh, I finally got them to pick up the junk and refund my money. I wouldn't recommend Ashley Furniture if they gave me the furniture. Take take these reviews serious. read more

JUST DONT DO IT! We purchased a 3 piece set and not 10 minutes after the driver left I noticed one side of the loveseat seamed a bit off. I called customer service and was told I would have to wait 2 weeks before someone could come and take a look. After the terrible way I have been treated I have asked that their cheap furniture be picked up immediately. Their customer service is horrible, no respect for their customers. I live in Raleigh, NC, I pass 10 furniture stores before getting to my house why would I wait 2 weeks to have someone look at my furniture and decide if it needs to be fixed? Fixed!? I have had this crap in my house less than 2 hours and already it needs to be fixed. I believe in businesses like relationships you see the best in the beginning. IF THIS IS YOUR BEST, PICK UP YOUR CHEAP FURNITURE AND GOOD RIDENCE! I am sure the 3 stores next door will have better respect for my money. read more

I really hope someone reads this, this was my 4th time trying to get this table and stools delivered, I finally had to take off work today because this is the only day they are in my area. First off, my appointment was 10:00am -1:00pm, I got a call they will be at my house in 20 minutes at 8:15am. This is the same thing that happened last time they tried to deliver, I had someone at my house at my scheduled time 10-1pm, but they cam at 8:30am. So, on this delivery, as stated, I took the day off work. The delivery guy come in and sets the barstools and tables up. The table was wobbling really bad, so I stated it needs to be fixed it can't be wobbling, we can't eat on it like that, he states, it supposed to be like that, I responded no, its not, it wasn't like that in the store, so he and his partner added more screws(which I'm not sure why all the screws were not already assembled on it)it still wasn't stable, he states again, this is just the way it comes, I said no way, I can't keep it wobbling like that, it looks raggedy,he says you can return it, its your choice, I told him, I'm tired of having all these issues with Ashley delivery, he states, I hate Ashley furniture, it a piece of "SH*T", I could not believe it, its the company that you are working for. I explained I'm not talking about the furniture itself, just the delivery and assembly guys, its horrible! first off my appointment was 10am-1pm and you are here at 8:30am, I'm lucky I decided to take off work or I would have missed you again!. He stated "yeah yeah, it was our fault, it was our fault" shaking his head with a nasty attitude, I said you are telling me the table can't be fixed and suddenly your partner tightens the screws and its fixed! I was so fed up, where was the customer service. I know for a fact I will never, ever get anything from Ashley Furniture ever again. I had been trying to get this delivered since June. I tried cancelling but you wanted to charge me a 10% restocking fee because of your delivery guys not coming my scheduled time. This experience has been horrible, I wish I had ready these reviews first! read more

So far I'm having a terrible experience with this company. It seems that they charge a ridiculous amount of money for delivery but then expect you to accept the delivery at their leisure. I had a delivery time scheduled and as you know, life happens, so i couldn't be home at that scheduled time. Then as it happens, nobody will or can be available at my home during the times they claim to be there to deliver. First problem, they won't adjust delivery times to help the customer, but they will make you wait an additional 2 weeks for a weekend delivery. Already inconvenient. Then now they call to inform me that they are cancelling my delivery this weekend and I'll have to wait another week. Then once again, nobody is willing to help you or adjust anything to provide quality service to the customer. Apparently you pay for a delivery, wait a month and then still get told they refuse to deliver at the customer's leisure, even though that's what the customer pays them for. Terrible service. I do not recommend Ashley to anyone. Time to move on to all other review options for my region. read more

Today my husband, my 8 month old son, and I went to this store. At first we were just browsing for furniture. Tara, the saleswoman, came up to us, explained how everything worked and offered us our space. She checked in on us frequently to answer our questions. She was so informative, I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She showed us all our options throughout the store. At first we chose one sofa and a loveseat she ran all the number without hesitation. We changed our mind to the sectional and she was great about it. Interacting with our baby and us. It was a wonderful experience. We are receiving our sectional shortly, but we have already decided if we are going to purchase anything else we are going to go see Tara , she was awesome. Not pushy at all, but informative enough to make us want to buy something. Thank you so much. We appreciate great customer service more than anything! read more

Its sad that I have to a make a review this bad about a store I love. Every room in our house has ashley furniture pieces in it. I love the store and the furniture quality. Recently I went in to add two pieces to our home. Once I got there they let me know that I would have a promo of 1 year no interest but that i couldn't use the wells fargo account that I have because they dont work with wells fargo. So i applied with TD bank and got approved for way more then wells. After 2 billing cycles I HATE TD BANK That was the worse mistake they have ever made. Customer service is rude, they wouldnt allow me to make additional payments or set up and auto payment of more then the minimal balance. Whats the point of getting the interest free. its like they want to make you pay interest forever. Because of them having this bank I will either buy furniture from another store or straight out. i plan on paying the full balance next month after the late fee which they charged is reversed because I paid too many payments (3) in one bill cycle. read more

Aboslute junk! Bought a couch, loveseat, and a coffee table set from Ashley Furniture homestore a year ago. The couch cushins are deflated and sunken in. I have a few stains on my couches from my toddler and called to utilize the Ashley Assurance Protection Plan which the sales representaive sold me on top of what I paid for the furniture. This protection plan was to cover stains and any damage to the furniture for the first five years. He also pointed out since I had a toddler, getting the plan made so much sense. The Ashley Assurance people also known as GBS Warranty Services, are clueless, rude and unprofessional. They were unable to locate me by my name, by my phone number, or by my sales order number as if I never even purchased the furniture from them at all. I will not be a repeat customer of Ashley Furniture. Do youself a favor and spend the extra couple hundred dollars for a quality piece of furniture that will last decades. Lesson learned! read more

Will never buy from Ashley again. Bought a desk and office chair set from this location the week after Christmas. It all was delivered 1/14/17. Unfortunately we only thought to look at the desk for damages before the delivery guys left, not the chair. Turns out to be broken and the adjusting mechanism doesn't work, so it won't adjust up or down. Called later that day for them to come back, but they said it was too late and they'd have to send the parts to our house and then a technician would come out to repair. Called 1/27 to ask where the part was and they said it would ship in a couple days and arrive by 2/3. Now it is 2/7 and still don't have the part. Called again today to check the status and now one part is shipping 2/14 and the second part (which I'm just now learning about) is back ordered until March! How is this more efficient than just replacing the chair? Yes, we should have thought to check the chair before the delivery guys left, but they should have thought to check it over as well. That's just common courtesy. The sales folks are so quick to take your money in the store and then the follow up customer serious is downright horrendous. Stay away. We will be requesting a refund and purchasing furniture elsewhere from now on. read more

I purchased a trundle bed with two tempurpedic mattresses and spent well over $2000.00 on this bed. Once I purchased the bed they said they would contact me with a delivery date. They did not contact me and after three days I called and left a message as I was unable to get a live person on the phone. This continued for over a week until I was able to get in contact with someone who set up a time to deliver the bed, with my eight year old asking everyday if his bed was coming that day. Due to weather (which I realize they cannot control) they called and stated that the day would need to be changed and to call back the next day. The same issue as before occurred. Finally 5 weeks after I had purchased the bed the bed was delivered. The set up crew was nice and finished quickly. Four months later my sons lower bunk broke while he was sleeping in it. I contacted Ashely furniture back and was advised I needed to speak with a different department and was transferred to the never listened to black hole voicemail (which probably still has all of my previous messages) and left messages on four different occassions. When I finally spoke with someone she said she was sorry and went on to schedule delivery of the parts which in turn would require me calling back and requesting set up when the large boxes finally arrived on my front porch. I spent the next three weeks attempting to make contact with the special delivery department to have the bed set up. When I called the sales floor and insisted on talking to someone in shipping and delivery I was put through to the voicemail once again. So I called back and stated I would stay on the phone until they could help me. Finally I was able to talk to someone. I explained what was going on and did not even receive and apology for all of the inconvience or the fact that my son had a faulty bed. She set up a time for delivery on the following week and stated I would be called Monday with a delivery time for Tuesday.. I guess people don't make plans ahead of time. So I set aside my day and no one called so I contacted Ashley Furniture once again to no avail. So Tuesday I waited until 10:01 and began my calling. Evidently I was not assigned a delivery time for Tuesday. The employee said yeah I'm sorry about that and stated I would have a set up crew the next day and I would be contacted shortly about the time. Of course... I wasn't. I will say the set up crew did call the day of delivery and let me know they would be at my house in ten minutes while I was at the doctors office. The only positives I can say is the sale person was nice as was the second set up crew. read more

I've been to Ashley Furniture a few times over the past few months and before tonight I would have rated my experiences at a B ... Wasn't great, wasn't awful. But tonight I had the pleasure of working with sales associate Mike Caldwell and he was exceptional. Very attentive, informative and helpful. He answered every question I had and went out of his way to make sure I was completely satisfied. I was buying furniture for multiple rooms so I ended up being there for about 2.5 hours and he didn't make me feel rushed nor like I was an inconvenience to him. I thanked him so many times for his help and patience -- He was so good I even asked if there was someway I could rate him/do a survey because I truly felt he deserved it. I read some reviews before going to Ashley Furniture and was a tad bid hesitant especially after reading all the reviews about how bad the delivery is. Without me even having to ask him, Mike told me that a few months ago the people who handle all the stock went on strike which made for an unsuccessful delivery process. I appreciated his openness and honesty without me having to ask. As far as the delivery process goes, I do plan on writing a separate review as a follow up... But for now I just want to recognize Mike for his exceptional customer service!! read more
