I purchased a couch and chair from the Ashley store in New Rochelle. The salesman offered me an option to get a protection plan. I wasn't interested. He wrote up the sale and told me that he threw the protection plan in for free. I didn't question it because it had a 00 cost on the receipt. When I got home I reviewed the bill and realized he had actually added the plan to the cost and overcharged me the extra $200. I called and he tried to tell me the furniture was more money than was listed on the price tags. When I told him that was ludicrous, he said he'd have the charges reversed. A month later, it's still on my bill. Beware of this store! Check your receipt carefully!Don't shop here! read more

This store, in particular, has the worst customer service... reps that do no give you their last names or allow you to speak to the manager. When you finally get to the manager... he is dismissive, and in my case, called over the sales rep and said "you deal with her!" I called over to the NJ Customer service number, corporate, etc... all of which told me these stores are franchised and Ashley corporate has no say in the way the stores are run. My furniture, which is still no delivered, has now gone on sale... and they WILL NOT honor the pricing. I told them to take back the half that was delivered and refund my money... and they said "its in your house, its no longer our problem!" Who says this to a customer?? i went to ashley homestore in new rochelle to look for a double recliner for my den and when it was all said and done , i got two single recliners which will work with a little furniture rearranging. no pushy salesperson , no pushing to buy, plenty of space and freedom to roam around and checkout all the furniture and other homegoods freely. 2 recliners with extended warranty, delivery fees and taxes with a total of 1900 bucks . was able to get the delivery date that works for me and ashley homestore send back the needed insurer form to my building management in a snap. overall i can say that ashley homestore has a good selection of quality furniture at prices that are more then reasonable. read more

A nightmare experience. I purchased a living room sofa set and dining room set for my apartment last week. My wife and I were encouraged to purchase a matching ottoman, which ended up being way oversized for my space. No returns accepted once the delivery was signed off. Wish that information was shared with me. The chair in the living room set also has a defect which a technician has to see and evaluate. But the windows they give me for the technician's visit are so broad that they conflict with both my me and my wife's work schedule. Wish they would just exchange the piece rather than try to fix a broken unit. Out of frustration, I went to the store to cancel the upcoming order for the dining room set. Sadly, the majority of the funds returned were applied to my finance and not to my credit card which I also used for my order. What an awful, pain-filled experience. Never again read more

So for starters, I want to say there items here are breath taking and beautiful with awesome quality. I happened to stumble upon this location while visiting the area. Every few years, I have a new taste or style. So I stopped in to browse and get an idea of how I would like to decorate my place. I was going for a modern chic look. I am very big on customer service. If I walk into an establishment and I am not greeted or hear something along the lines of "Is there anything, I may help you with today?" I will become turned off and no longer interested to spend my money at that establishment. Fast forward .... I walked into Ashley Home Store and I was greeted by a young lady named Casandra. First impression is the last impression. By her greeting alone, I was sold. Lol. A huge brownie point, we were about the same age so I knew she would definitely be able to help me with my vision of what I was looking for. So said, so done. I went from browsing to actually purchasing my bedroom set that day. This sales woman was phenomenal, I mean one of the best service I have received. Her knowledge on the company product showed, that she knew her stuff. Her personality alone, showed that she enjoyed what she do. The sales rep was overly enthusiastic, to the point of almost fake, that should have sent up warning bells, the other reps stood around mumbling about the rep that was helping me, second warning I ignored, I called next day to make a change to a $20K cash order and they were not the most professional on the phone, that was my third warning I should have taken but I didn't!!! So, a few weeks later I get my delivery and a lamp is broken, and the legs on my sectional are off, and a draw on one of the bureaus I bought is broken. So, I call Customer service to get this rectified because of course I bought the thousand-dollar warranty that I was told covers everything 100%, and that was an ordeal!! Customer service said I needed to call store for lamp, store said I need to call customer service and back and forth we go and to this day I still have a broken lamp. I was told a rep would come out on a certain day and then I was told they would reschedule him because I needed to wait for a part. On the canceled day the unexpected rep came out to service the sectional and tells me there's nothing he can do, "it's a big piece and it's off a little" as if that should pacify me!!! My fiance purchased his bedroom furniture here. He was initially happy with it until the dresser started to have issues opening and closing. The alignment was off. He missed the year warranty cut off (although the product started falling apart within a few months from purchase). They told him he had to pay to fix the dresser which he refused. When the repair technician removed the upholstery I was shocked not only that the arm of a brand-new chair was clearly broken, but also at the horrible quality of workmanship and the material used in the chair. I GOT RIPPED OFF - I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER WITH A CIRCULAR SAW, A SHEET OF PLYWOOD FROM HOME DEPOT, AND FABRIC/BATTING FROM MICHAELS!!!!! Ashley Furniture's Customer Service also had the gall to tell me they wouldn't take this piece back because it was already delivered. I still have unanswered voicemails from the CEO's Executive Assistant who I was told by Ashley Customer Service would be sure to get back to me. CAUTION EVERYONE! We were buying a bed for my mother. The assistant selling manager Mr. Quiles, M. at the Mew Rochelle location was very unorganized. We put an order together and got a fair number but did not make the purchase on the first day. But we did promise to return and keep in touch via text, Which we did. He promised to have all the paperwork ready to go when we come back, all we needed to do was pay. I showed up alone just to make the payment but he completely lost the order as well as confused our order with someone else. So I then had to return a third time to bring my mother to confirm the mattress type. He suggested I came in on a Wednesday during an event to get a better deal. Which was not the case at all. The price was higher. He stated the typical sales men line "prices went up" I was confused about how today is a sale but it still came out more. I then asked to knock off $75 off the price and I would pay and go. Was no shacking him even after having me show up a third time l, bring my elderly mother out again because he failed to save an order. He also claimed the number we told him he gave us was wrong, as if we were lying. Stated there was no way. But the price difference was about $200 and all we asked for was a kick off of $75. For that we walked out. We went to another location in the Bronx and placed our order there instead for the same exact items. Mr. Quiles was very stern and seemed very upset. He seem to become slightly agitated about us asking for the $75 discount. We were all for an honest sale as we did come back a third time, staying loyal to him getting his sale. But that was clearly not appreciated as we do have other locations closer to us that we ended up going to regardless. Which I ended up going back to them again the same week for another order I placed under my account for someone else. It's an easy You scratch my back I'll scratch yours. This was my first and last time coming to this store. I went to this store because I was passing by and wanted to give it a try. I went for a simple wall art & a blanket, when the guy who was helping me was about to finish my transaction called the manager ( an old woman), before she leave she gave me that look like I owe her something (this was not the first time she did that while I was walking through the store) . First of all I went to BUY not to ask her to pay for my stuffs. Second, I was very patient and didn't make any problems because the wall art that I decide to buy there was damage in every corner. The response that I got was that it was not their fault but the one who was in charge to fixed them on the wall. Third, the guy who was helping me out before selling me the wall art, was asking what type of car I have. He needed to make sure that the wall art was going to fit into my car before he can give to me. Me and husband find a solution and after explaining to him that I would take it on top of my car they decided to sell to me. Probably this guy asked that because at first I went for another wall art but I ended up with a bigger one. But still the WORST experience ever just for a simple wall art. read more

I have had a horrible experience with an individual that I originally gave an awesome review for. The The bed and adjustable base were $2600. The bed is the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on and also I was not told about an extra $89 for a special mattress cover. When you call the store there's only one number and then they try and connect it to your local store or the store and purchase from and they just disconnect the call. Very bad business practices. Top line: I was appalled at the lack of service and questionable business practices. A few weekends ago, I visited my friend in Westchester who asked me to come and look at a sofa that she was considering for purchase. I went to the store with her and thought it was a nice sofa for the price. I asked a question about the $35 consultation fee to measure the hallway/door space to see if the couch would be deliverable. The sales associate shot me a very nasty look and said it wasn't negotiable. Despite the poor service and attitude, my friend thought the price was very reasonable and bought the sofa, contingent upon it being deliverable to her apartment building. The sales rep was unhelpful and curt. In fact, seemed that she would much prefer hanging out with her friends then completing the sale; she kept us waiting an inordinately long period of time while she wrote up the paperwork. My friend set up an appointment for the following Wednesday to have the service come and take measurements. Side note: I was surprised that Ashley Furniture charged her for the full amount of the service AND the sofa on the spot, without knowing if the sofa would fit. Most reputable furniture places would wait or take a deposit. My trusting friend used her debit card and they took the money out immediately. There was also some kind of a promotion going on for an extra percentage off of purchase and my friend said another sales associate asked her sales rep if my friend qualified .... my friend's rep shot her a look and said no. My friend thought something didn't seem right but just wanted to get out of the store at this point. Fast forward to Wednesday: The measuring service was scheduled from noon to 4 pm .... my friend asked her father to wait at her apartment ... surprise! No one showed. Her father left. Her neighbor got home from work after 5 pm and let the Ashley people in ... they eyeballed the hallway and measured with their arm width ... said .... nope, won't fit. A very good use of $35. Her neighbor witnessed this and said the Ashley employees were very unprofessional. My friend called the Ashley customer service line and the manager was apologetic, waived the fee and offered to send out another specialist to measure. Fast forward to following Tuesday: My friend took time off of work to meet with this guy today and after his visit, called me in a rage. The new specialist measured and said it would not fit. When my friend asked questions about possible solutions, he was very rude and treated her like an idiot. Needless to say, she is calling Ashley to get a refund .... update to be provided on how smoothly that process will go. All in all, the furniture at Ashley is cheap and probably a good value but I'll never know because I will never buy it based on the poor service, discourteous staff and an overwhelming feeling that I am being scammed. UPDATE: My friend called Ashley Furniture for her refund because they didn't process it immediately and was told she had to come into the store to get it! WOW! Superior customer service .... NOT! And on a very funny note .... she got a call on the following Friday to schedule delivery for her sofa that would NOT fit in her hallway. Ashley Furniture .... get your act together!!! read more

I purchased furniture from Ashley's about four years ago. I paid for a 5 year warranty. Recently, some of my furniture began to break down. Drawers weren't closing properly, mechanisms were malfunctioning and the base of one drawer was actually falling down. The draws endure normal wear or are used infrequently. When I called about the problems, I was told that there was nothing they could do because it was not covered in the expensive warranty they were so eager to sell me. Ashley's Furniture is supposedly known for high quality and good customer service; however, the breakdown of my furniture suggests otherwise. I'm disappointed with the customer service and care, especially with regards to this issue. I believe one's money would best be spent at other, more affordable furniture stores. To me, the quality is no different, but you can save money by going to their competitors. I feel I paid top dollar for mediocre quality. I would not buy anything from here again, nor recommend Ashley's Furniture to others. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE....RUN AWAY NOW~ Purchased two couches and had them delivered. Before the delivery i called and rescheduled due to my elevator not working the reschedule cost me $108 EXTRA. Second, time they came the elevator did not fit the pieces the delivery man didnt want to take them apart and left. To have it delivered again with a special guy who can take them apart sent me back another $218. So, its been 2 months and i have not gotten my pieces because every time you reschedule it pushed you back another 3 weeks or so. In addition, the ladies on the phone are very rude and i seriously have been on hold now all together for 5 hrs. When i pass by this place to go to COSTCO i CRINGE....i hate it. We found the customer service to be abysmal. We were overcharged for a recliner and, when we tried to get the overcharge refunded, we were confronted by unhelpful and uninterested staff. The manager in New Rochelle then called us, was rude and hung up. We ultimately had to cancel the entire order and get our money back. The store itself has a very friendly staff. Although at times you can feel like their time is not totally being dedicated to you because they do have to tend to other clients. If this was a department store where people are buying multiple items like shirts and pants, then that's acceptable. However you're committing to spending thousands of dollars, so they can commit to spending a little more time. I loved my furniture after I finally got it. I was initially impressed when I was going to get my furniture in just a week. To save you from the long story, there was a ton of miscommunication on their part and half of my items were on backorder which I wasn't informed of until after they ran my credit, started a credit line, and charged me for the furniture. I got my bed and the fireplace in a week and the other pieces of furniture came nearly 2-3 weeks later. What I found most unpleasant is that this store failed to do a follow up call or email to see how my experience or delivery was. The shipment center did some of the work in trying to keep me updated. However, I had to do most of the investigative work to figure out what was going on with my furniture. Although expensive, Macy's makes it protocol that employees follow up with their clients that make big ticket purchases (I used to work for Macy's and if you're not getting a call then it's a problem). The follow-up goes along way and helps customers feel they made the right decision in purchasing an expensive item. I won't take away from the friendly manner in which they greet you. At the end it felt as if maybe they were just trying to close the sale and not being genuine with their intentions. I just moved recently and needed new furniture for my apartment. I had bought a bed set at another store but after buying it, I found it out it was back ordered for two months, so I cancelled my order and came to Ashley in hopes that they would have nice furniture readily available. I ended up buying a 7 Piece bed room set that I really liked, as well as a sectional sofa, a coffee table, a tv stand, a desk, accent chair, and a drop leaf table with two chairs. I took my time picking the furniture I wanted, coming back on two separate weekends, and the sales associate Rosemary was very helpful. In the store, she came to check on me and point me in the right direction. She was fantastic and was not pushy. After ordering the first half of my furniture, I was able to secure a delivery date for 3 days later, it was a week day. The second half of my furniture was delivered 2 days later - They happened to have a Saturday opening. The way it works is that you choose one day for the delivery, and they call you ahead of time with a four hour window. For the first delivery, they came at the middle of the four hour window, and for the second one they came in the beginning of the window. They assembled the bedroom set inside the bed room and everything looked good, no scratches or anything. They also took the packaging materials and garbage away with them and didn't leave a mess behind. I liked the quality of my bed set a lot, as well as the couch and the other wood pieces. The chaise for my sectional was out of stock for a month and a half, but I liked the sofa so much I ordered it anyway, and they will be shipping that piece out tomorrow. One month after my move and so far, I'm very happy with my furniture. Last week I received a post card from my sales associate Rosemary, checking in to see how my move went and that she enjoyed helping me with the furniture She was fantastic and I will be recommending her to everyone I know who is looking to buy furniture. I'm surprised at the bad reviews, but I guess this place has changed from the time some of these reviews have been written. I made an order on August 24th, the salesman said that the order will be delivered to my apt in two weeks. I ordered a bedroom set that I really liked, living room set (complete one) and a counter table with four stools. I got really good discount but only one year of financing. I also paid 25% of the total price in cash. Anyway, I received a phone call the next morning to tell me that the order will be delivered on the 23 of September ! I accepted that and got over it. However, Ashley called me five days before the delivery date to confirm the process. I got so excited etc. surprisingly, they called me again one day before the delivery date to let me know that the order is not going to be delivered on the 23 ! I was like WTH ! WHY? the lady said that one lamp wasn't working ! I was like really !? screw the lamp I don't wanna it. Then she said, there's another missed item in your order! I was like what is it? you just said it was only the lamp ! she said your queen head board was damaged and we must order another one ! I got really upset and said: "I didn't even order a queen size bed" ! "I ordered a king size bedroom set!" she said someone will call you tomorrow from the customer service and will let you know. They called me two days after to tell me that my order will be delivered on the October 14th ! I told them who's responsible on this now? they said we can give you a free five years warranty on all of your items. I accepted that because I had no other choice, plus I was planning to purchase that warrant which would probably cost around $300. However, I have no experience with how good their furniture is because I never got my order yet. Everything started out so wonderful. The sales rep who sold us our furniture was friendly and helpful. The problem was with the delivery. 48 hours before, we confirmed the delivery, the day before they told us the hours of delivery, the morning of they told us the delivery was 10 minutes away. The problem, we only received the recliner and not the sofa. As the delivery men were walking away, I asked where my sofa was. They said, "sorry, it's not in stock." How could it not be in stock when we paid for the furniture and delivery and they assured delivery. When I spoke the representative she just said sorry, it would be in stock maybe this week or next. I didn't pay for it to be delivered possibly or possibly not next week, I expect it when I paid for it. I had already gotten rid of my other living room set so now I have one chair for everyone to share. I guess we'll just take turns sitting. I sent an email after I got off the phone with the representative, I'm still waiting for even an acknowledgement that my email was received. This is not how you do customer service. I wasn't asking for a miracle, I didn't know it was so difficult to get what you paid for. This was my first shopping experience with Ashley and it most likely will be my last. I already told one of my coworkers about this and they said they were happy I told them so they don't buy from Ashley. I will certainly make sure I tell as many people as I can not to buy from Ashley. You pay thousands of dollars for their furniture and after they have your money they do what they want. Don't buy from Ashley Furniture! Save your money and go elsewhere where they care that you actually get your furniture when you pay for it. read more
