Bought a 5k couch and paid the $500 for delivery since they didn't have the ottoman in stock and "could not ship it to this location for me to pick it up" Then they delivered all of the couch and loveseat but did not have the ottoman in stock yet so have to deliver it a second time. They would not work with us at all on timing the deliveries so Both times we are having to take off work to be there to sign because the route is "geographically routed" and "cannot be changed". So why did I pay $500 for a "flexible delivery" that is not flexible at all and is a bigger inconvenience then if they would have just let me pick it up. Awesome couch, horrible delivery service. Horrible store. It used to be decent but it has gone downhill. Customer service absolutely stinks. Bought several items of furniture. Didn't receive half the order, waited patiently for several months but would only occasionally receive bogus updates that they is an open order on the account then no additional information. Finally after several more months had to reach out and took several weeks to track order down to find out that item was discontinued. Then the store refused to refund a credit that should have come with the order. So don't shop here unless you mean to spend hours going through the buying process to then spend months without getting any real updates to end up never actually getting your actual order. I love Ashley's furniture and have bought from them for years but their communication is a 1, all communication if you call goes through a call center and the employees are inept. I bought furniture that was damaged and needed to return it. I called 5 different numbers trying to get someone at the local store in Joplin, Missouri. Just know, if you have an issue you will not be able to reach anyone locally. They knew the piece of furniture was damaged and the whole back was busted but they sold it anyways. I see now why the salesman was so adamant that I sign the "as in" paper. I spoke to the assistant manager on 10/18 at 2:31 PM, he was a rude POS, had an attitude, stated "there's nothing we can do it, it's as it". Most people would do anything to keep a customer of 10 years. How about maybe discount it a couple 100 more dollars or just let me return it so I can purchase a brand new one?? The assistant manager (Jesse) did nothing, he flat didn't care. The assistant manager is a POS. I then asked if I could speak to the manager, he purposely transferred me back to their customer support number knowing, I would get lost in the phone system and wouldn't be able to speak to the actual manager. The piece of furniture was large piece and was backed against a wall so there was no way to inspect it prior. Just know when you go to Ashley Joplin, Missouri, you better watch these people, they will purposely screw you over. If you notice after you place a bad Google review they will respond with thank you for your purchase and see you again soon. We bought a dinning table set in Feb 19' and are now going on our third table. It is a faulty piece of furniture, if any amount of moisture gets on the top surface of the table it will warp and bubble up. How are we suppose to eat and drink on this table? Called the store and was told all they can do is keep replacing it. So they will just replace it until the warranty runs out and then we're stuck with it? March 7, we paid for our couch in cash. We wait till March 17 for delivery. Get a call saying "sorry, it's broken". Rescheduled for March 25... come March 25, they say "sorry, were missing a piece. It's back ordered. We can deliver the rest of the couch tho". First of all, i don't want half of my damn couch. I want my entire couch. So they said, "we'll deliver it March 28". I have asked multiple times to pick up my bed from the store in town and all they say is I can drive to Springfield to pick it up. It has been "cancelled" for delivery twice now by staff not from lack of me speaking to someone confirming delivery. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY THE WARRANTY! My chair structure broke after a couple of years. First I was told several times I didn't buy the warranty, but I had. Then when they acknowledged I did in fact have it, the warranty covered only cosmetic and not the structure of the chair. So, I can spill paint on it, but they don't guarantee the structure of the chair! With the back of the $800 chair being broke, I would advise looking around other places with integrity. I purchased furniture that was "in stock" on Saturday 1/23/21. On Monday 1/25/21 I called and canceled a coffee table and a counter table after measuring. The couch and loveseat were to be delivered the next week- the date changed several times and it was finally delivered on 2/19/21. They also brought the items I had canceled- they marked them off of the sheet, took a picture and sent it in to FINALLY get my refund started. The next couple of weeks I was getting voicemails wanting to know when they could deliver my furniture! After numerous calls-Joplin and corporate both suck and are no help at all- my refund was supposed to be mailed on 3/2/21- today is 3/26/21 and no refund still. I spoke with corporate yesterday and she said a check for $785 was mailed in the 2nd and put in a "ticket". I called Joplin today and told them that the furniture alone was $799 + tax = $859. THREE MONTHS AND STILL NO TABLES!!! Bought a five piece sectional, three piece set of tables and a bed...salesman told us EVERYTHING would be delivered two weeks after sale. Two weeks came, delivery truck pulls up...driver hops out, "I'm here to deliver your bed". NO ONE ever called to let me know my sectional was on back order...after two months of my sectional being delivered ONE PIECE AT A TIME...I AM NOT JOKING...I STILL HAVE NO TABLES OR A DATE FOR DELIVERY OF SAID TABLES. On top of all this, the salesman said in-store during the time of sale, "we haul off old furniture just NOT BEDS because of bed bugs". Fine, great, now time comes and I have my old furniture to send back with the drivers and, "we don't accept old furniture...we CAN'T, we WILL GET FIRED!", so I call BRAD in my home during time of delivery and then he says, "we can't haul off old furniture ONLY USED BEDS IF WE HAVE TOO" this whole time the delivery team are shaking there heads arguing with him on speaker phone. However, all the furniture is mixed together regardless of prices, materials, colors, etc. My wife and I were shopping for a couch and needed a salesman to show us around the entire store. We literally had to walk from one side of the store all the way to every other corner of the store to look at different couches. Why not group everything together by category so it's easier to shop? sheesh. Prices range from affordable to pricey. Not much variety in style, it's mostly a 'mid-western' look, if you know what I mean. Customer service is good and they offer home delivery and setup. DON'T GO THERE. . We simply ordered two end tables from here. Check out was terrible the lady that was checking us out made three mistakes. While the saleman was trying to tell me about their rules. When our tables arrived four or six weeks later the drawers were all crooked. Of course they wanted to try and charge me for restocking and I said no way the lady that was helping me did take off the restocking fee which is stupid to begin with. Especially since they were made badly. I got a credit slip from them and was told by this lady that I could use it at any Ashley Furniture. Second lie. You have to use it in their store only. Because we drove to a different store in Wichita and they said we couldn't use it there. JOPLIN store ONLY. Oh yes I wouln't have them put your stuff together it cost I think around 30.00 a piece to have end table put together. I ask the man that does this what he had to put together on my table NOTHING REALLY UNPACKED AND SCREWED ON THE BALLS (FEET) OF THE TABLES AND HE DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE THE CROOKED DRAWERS. What a waste of time and money. My husband finally went back into the store and picked out some decorative thing for our credit. I wouln't recommend this store to anyone. I have a handicapped daughter that needed bedroom furniture. We went all over Joplin looking and didn't hardly get a glimpse from most sales associates. I decided that we would try Ashley at last resort. We walked to the back of the store and saw some items that we would have liked to purchase. Even thought they were busy, no one even looked up so say hello or that they would be with us shortly. We were cash paying customers it would have been a quick sale but only a customer said hello. As we were leaving, found out that that customer was the store designer. She said she was appalled that we weren't even greeted. She made me promise that I would return for another chance. The store manager greeted us with a huge apology and the "excuse" that his boss was in the store. I told him my money helped pay his salary too and he should have been second to the customer. I purchased a large secional along with their "Montage Warranty" on 11.29.13. and it was delivered on 12.10.13. I absolutly LOVE my couch and thought so highly of Ashley Furniture. I have raved about them for years! well I had to make a claim on my couch. i called the store in November to do so. The man gave me a phone number to GBS, a third party company that handles their warranty. I call, they cant find me in their system, i need my order number and they suggest calling the store. so i call the store, they say they will email me my invoice. cool. A week or so passes and nothing. i call the store back because i never got an email. They re-send it. I finally get it! I call GBS again and they again cant find me in their system... i have my order number! woo hoo! so they file my claim on my couch. The person who filed my claim said that she couldnt find me in their system because the salesman didnt register it at the time of sale but it was no biggy and i should hear from somebody soon about fixing the couch. so i go about my life, thinking of work, and christmas, and our 22 hour drive coming up quickly... i totally forget about my couch. So.. fast forward to monday oh ya... the couch...i call GBS back to ask whats up and why i never got a call? They AGAIN cannot find me in their program and AGAIN need the dang order number. I call back with the order number, the girl then tells me that GBS didnt start servicing ashley furniture untill 2016 and since my purchase was in 2013, i needed to call "montage" and gave me a different phone number. So... this is irritating. i call montage and they tell me i am now out of warranty. You have got to be kidding?! So i head to the store because this needs to be fixed and the store gave me the wrong phone number. Paris, the manager, "helped" me.... she tells me to call some customer team and hand me a pamplet. She says that they would be the ones to handle this. so i call and walk around the store. My husband and i are looking for a new bedroom suite... but i assure you, after this, i will never buy from here again. the woman on the customer response team says that she cant do anything. she even agreed that my situation is absurd and that its wrong and my warranty shoukd be honored but, her "hands were tied"... At this time, i straight hand my phone to Paris and let her talk to the woman. In the end, Paris says, "i dont know what you want me to do, im not going to your house to fix your couch"... Grade A customer service right there. She said that i could "take advantage" of the since you didnt use it, you get it back in store credit deal. But i dont want that. i would like my couch fixed because my claim was filed within my warranty period. This whole experience was super disappointing. As I have read through the reviews I have found a common thread with unhappy customers...the manager Chad. To keep from making this review extremely long I will skip most of the details. We ordered furniture and was told it had a 4 week guarantee. It's now been over 5 weeks and we have yet to receive our furniture. We had a phone conversation with the manager who was extremely rude and obnoxious. He told me that he had called and left me two messages but that is impossible as I do not have voice messaging on my phone. When I told him this, he got even more rude with me. We ended up having to go into the store after 5 weeks had passed and we still hadn't received our furniture. Chad was incredibly rude! I cannot believe the lack of customer service. I will not go into all of the details but I will say that I will never purchase from this store again.
