This is actually one of my favorite furniture stores. It's by far the largest one I've been to in the greater Birmingham area, and it came with a super relaxing environment too. Their living room sets were what I focused on, and they had so many kinds of sofas from super affordable but also uncomfortable to higher end reclining leather ones. There were a couple of leather sofas I was really interested in buying. However, some of their stationary fabric sofas I could def live without. Some were pretty, but felt like a very thin pillow once I actually sat down. Not very supportive, and you can feel the woodwork. Every time I came here, I never experienced overly pushy nor completely negligent salespeople. They always seemed to be just the right amount of helpful but not annoying either lol. I received a phone call voice message from someone named Lulu and she will not call me or discuss my problems, she just keeps texting me. I went in the store on 11/11/22 and was "assisted" by Chris. After browsing the store for a bit, I found a beautiful dining set - a solid marble table and six chairs marked down on clearance. I immediately told Chris I wanted to go ahead and get it before anyone else does. So he took the price tag off the table and explained to me that the delivery was averaging about 7 to 10 business days. I said that was fine. He had a tablet in his hand and proceeded to complete a Customer Information form with my name, address, phone number, email address, etc. Chris escorted me to another section of the store to wait while he placed a call and got everything ready for my purchase. Since he didn't specify, I assumed he was trying to get me a delivery date and time. I was at the store for about 90 minutes. Chris advised that "they" weren't picking up and he was waiting for them to call him back. He said if I wanted to I could leave and he would call me upon hearing back, and that I could come back down to the store to pay for my order. (Why he didn't just go ahead and take my payment, I have no idea. I was not even using financing.) Well, I never heard back from him on Friday. I never heard back from him on Monday. So I called on Tuesday saying I wanted to check on my furniture and that a friend was going to help me pick it up that afternoon. Chris was off work, but another associate tried looking up my furniture using my name. My information was NOWHERE in their system. The furniture I was calling about had definitely been sold - but to SOMEONE ELSE. After the fact that I went in and tried to purchase it myself. How ridiculous! It feels like that scene in "Pretty Woman" where they won't allow her to shop because they feel she isn't good enough, but they are willing to sell to other customers. You sold MY furniture to another person! SO THEN - I get a call back a little later from the "manager" named Jessica. After explaining ALL of this to her in great detail, all she can say are these two things: 1) We can't do anything about it because our store policy is that we can't issue a refund on clearance items, and the other person has already paid for the furniture. 2) We will talk to Chris about this to make sure it doesn't happen again. Then, she proceeds to explain to me that they can't "HOLD" furniture for people until they get ready to buy it. I said I never asked him to HOLD the furniture for me - I was ready to purchase it at that moment. So I'm thinking: 1) Why can't you issue a refund to that person if they were charged for furniture that someone else was already buying? 2) Why is Chris still going to be employed there? 3) Why didn't she have Chris call me to apologize directly? But, I digress... Jessica then states she will call around to other locations to see if they have that exact dining set and could sell it to me. I agreed that would be fine. She advised that she would call me back with further details that evening BEFORE the store closed for the day. (And proceeded to brag about how good her customer service is and how she was making me her first priority.) SHE GAVE ME HER CELL NUMBER to be able to contact her if needed. About two and a half hours after the store closed, I still had not received a call from her. So I texted, "Were you able to find out anything else today?" She NEVER replied. Then I texted her the next morning to let her know I was not happy with her "customer service." She had the audacity to text back saying, "I'm sorry, I am off work today." WHAT?? She continued in text that she would have someone else at the store CALL me ASAP. It's been over 48 hours and I still have heard NOTHING from anyone. I should also mention that I asked for the phone number of someone higher up, such as a regional manager or headquarters. She stated she would provide that information when she talked to me later. So that last time we talked, INSTEAD of giving ME the information like I asked, she told me that SHE had EMAILED the higher ups for me and they would reach out to me soon. Of course I NEVER heard from anyone - but I also don't know if she even actually corresponded with them. She was probably just trying to keep me from contacting them. So, my experience ONE WEEK later? My furniture is set to be delivered to a Mr. Shipp. I've still not heard from Jessica, a representative of the company, nor Chris. And I apparently don't exist to them. I will NEVER spend a dime at an Ashley's store, EVER. Why would I purchase from a place that cares NOTHING about customers and NOTHING about customer satisfaction? Why would I purchase from a furniture store that steals one customer's furniture to sell it to another customer? I am done. I will be contacting the corporate office myself, & the news station. We paid $500 for delivery and assembly plus the trash being taken. On top of the sales associate telling us that the third party would even help us move our old furniture. They declined, so we moved them. They then proceeded to tell us they couldn't move our furniture inside because it's already touched the ground. So, we called the store. Vance was supposed to call me back over two weeks ago and is always off work or out when I call. It's not so much that they didn't move our old furniture. It's that we were told so many things to make a sale and then paid $500 and all they did was leave our white linen couch on our lawn. read more

No honest customer service! The salesman will lie about delivery just to make a sell. Then when you cancel you will be charged a 10% cancelation fee. Yes its in the contract but management should be held accountable for what their employees are telling customers. Store manager was very rude and wouldn't acknowledge the fact that I was lied to by his employee. I would rather sit on the floor than to purchase anything from Ashley! Terrible experience, they refused to deliver because there was a possible 2 hours of snow that never happened. They shut down entirely for weeks, I couldn't call because so many needed to talk to them. My sales associate, Kayte, blew me off with a shrug, there's nothing she could do, too bad for you. After weeks & much escalation & holds and dropped calls, they finally guaranteed shipment, but called back to say they lost 1/2 my order. Kayte said that's just too bad, I guess you have to wait & yes the replacement piece might or might not match. She had no memory of me, no desire to help and, frankly, no interest in my problem. When I went into the store to cancel my order, she sat to the side playing with her phone. I know there were many customers in need, but she couldn't be bothered. Store managers told me it was too hard to follow up with betrayed customers!! Talk about an entitlement generation!! Now, Kayte texts me regularly, offering to sell me furniture, I have repeatedly asked her to stop. So, she obviously doesn't care enough to even read a short text. On Sunday, February 14, 2021, I purchased a bed, dresser and mattress from this location. I was given a quote of approximately 8-12 weeks for delivery due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Exactly 10 weeks later, I reached out to this location via telephone for and up. I never received a single phone call to update me on my status which I find very unacceptable. I spoke with a representative and the stated that my bed and mattress was in for awhile, but they were still waiting on my dresser. I requested that my bed could at least be delivered, so I could stop sleeping on the floor. After my bed was delivered I waited for the 12th week to pass and decided to call back to the store because I guess it's not common practice to reach out to your paying customers to update them. After speaking with a representative I was quoted another 4-6 weeks for my dresser. I expressed how disappointed I was I'm not at least being contacted with an update and here I am almost 3 weeks later and I have yet to receive a call. This is very unacceptable and I will never buy furniture from them again. I'm not giving them 10%, so I guess I'll just have to wait. I ordered a bedroom set in April and before I ordered it, it said it would be here by the beginning of May. Then after I ordered it, the delivery date said it would be here in the middle of June. I purchased a couch and love seat three months ago. They sent the wrong color and I reached out to them the very next day and I still do not have the correct items delivered or the incorrect items picked up. I have been calling almost everyday and or messaging them. I have been lied to numerous times and placed on hold for 20-30 minutes over and over again only to eventually be disconnected or told to leave a message. If they promise their supervisor will call you the next day do not believe them. I really am at a lose as to what to do at this point. They have already received my payment. If anyone has suggestions as to how to correct the problem please help. And for the record I am not someone who blows up on the phone at them. I stopped by this store on a Wednesday afternoon. The store didn't seem busy, but the employees did. No one in this huge store offered help to me. A man up front welcomed me in, but proceeded to work on his tablet. The other lady up front was talking away on her cell phone. A simple "Can we help you?" or "I'll be right with you, ma'am" would've done wonders. I continued knowing those two people would not get my sale. I've worked in furniture before, most is commissioned based. Obviously this store wasn't. No one wanted to make a sell. I walked around & by the time I got to the back desk there were two other women. One in the very front of the desk, the other in the back. Again, nothing said. They're phone conversations were first priority. Not even a simple friendly smile. I finally made my way all around the store, & while I noticed things I was interested in, I didn't not make a purchase due to lack of good customer service. The prices seemed high, but marked out (a red "X" through the price). I noticed sale signs, but was unsure how much to take of the mark priced. Confused & frustrated, I left disappointed not being able to get more information on the products that caught my attention. Happy I didn't spend a penny at a place that doesn't put paying customers first. The only upside to this store was how clean & maintained it was. This place is a rip-off. My husband and I thought about getting in on their "Alabama 15-0 and it's free" deal so we stopped by. We picked out a couch that we liked. It was pricey but seemed nice. I decided to look for reviews on the couch on the internet when I discover that the couch is $1200 cheaper on Ashley's website than in the store!! They would honor that price but you couldn't get in on the 15-0 deal. So it looks like they are doubling the prices on their stuff to make even more off this deal. They get their money either way so why double the price. I was floored!! We were going to buy two couches but not with prices inflated like that. They just lost a ~$4000 sale.You also had to purchase delivery (no big deal) and the protection plan (yet more money in their pocket). Needless to say I'll buy my furniture from somewhere else that doesn't rip-off their customers. The sales lady wasn't that pleasant either. This was the worst experience ever initially I went into the store to buy a dining room set. I had a sales lady name Patrice I was then told that the item was on hold for a customer who is doing a return I told her that was fine but in the meantime just for her to call me back to let me know what the situation was with a customer. I waited a week and a half no phone call I called left several messages with no response , that's because I really want the furniture I went to the store and was told that the furniture was already sold and they had another item on the floor which was only the table and not the whole set that they were trying to sell the table had a deep scratch mark on it and they still wanted $1500 for that particular table. You would think they would mark it down since it was discontinued. We proceeded to look at other furniture's with a new sales person and finally picked out a living room set and a dining room set since both me and my husband had accounts I got one item he got another item they then wanted to charge each one of us a delivery fee for having the furniture come to the house at the same time on the same truck and still want it each one of us to pay a separate delivery cost taxes and everything instead of combining them together needless to say they did combine both orders together with one delivery. Furniture was supposed to be delivered on 2 February , which we have little to no contact with the delivery team wants this delivery guys got here they were rude and didn't have no bedside manner's they smelled of weed and when they bought the sofa out from the truck it was not in the back box no paper wrapping or anything they proceed to bring the sofa in the house and as they were bringing it into the house I told him that the item was damaged they didn't say anything or respond and we sat in the chair prior to them leaving the house and found that the chair was indeed bit I proceeded to call the warehouse to let them know that the delivery was acceptable and we would not take the delivery because I had already signed the paper prior to them leaving and not only did that they only delivered one piece to a three-piece sofa in no dining room table no one had an explanation of why only one item came to the house no courtesy call to say that there was only going to be one item being delivered or nothing once I called the delivery team they told me that their systems have been down so knowing that their systems have been down for a week they should've informed the customer to let their customers know that I am very dissatisfied with Ashley Furniture and this is my first and my last time I will be doing business with them. So I FINALLY got the delivery and.... the sofa had several defects and was rejected immediately. Then later I noticed a defect in the loveseat and called customer care the same day. They agreed to replace it too. Well the replacement sofa was delivered 4 days later and I discovered a defect in it too. So now I'm waiting on a replacement loveseat AND a second replacement sofa. I don't see how they stay in business if this is how they do business. I guess I must be the unluckiest customer they have to not be able to get upholstered items without a defect. Based on my experience with Ashley, I would not recommend purchasing anything from them. My question for Ashley is - who is in charge of ensuring the quality of items produced? They need to be terminated. The items should be inspected BEFORE they are wrapped for shipment, since their explanation is they dont remove upholstered items from their packaging until they deliver to the home. I would give them a zero if it would allow me to. I ordered Queen size mattresses from them on 8/31/2020, I was told by the sales person that it would take 3-5 weeks for delivery. At 5 wks I was told that they didn't know where they were and would call me when they came in and were ready for delivery. At 6 wks and 7 wks, I was told the same story. At 8 weeks, I went into the store and requested the order be cancelled and my down payment be refunded. The manager said she had to get approval and would call me as soon as she got it. The next morning around noon, I called again and was told the manager had gone to lunch. 1 hr later she was still at lunch, Finally around 2:30 she answered my call, said she had been trying to reach me because she needed to know why I was cancelling my order. I again told her why. She then said she had to email her manager and find out how much they were going to charge me for cancelling my order. I told her that there shouldn't be any charge since they breached the contract. I am still waiting for a response. read more

Too bad I can't give ZERO stars! My dad purchased a console with a fireplace insert in JANUARY for my sister. I asked him why the fireplace portion hadn't been installed and he told me Ashley has been giving him the run around. I started calling in JUNE thinking he was just not clear. NOPE! This had been the WORST experience EVER! I am out of the country so I can't drop in (believe me, otherwise I would have). I have called, texted, sent pictures, called corporate, all to no avail. Every time I'm told someone will call back in 1-2 business days. It never happens. The last time I called they LIED and said "we called you to schedule an appointment, but no one answered." No missed calls on my phone, no voice message to tell me to call back. Just outright LIED! It's so ridiculous that all these reviews are saying the same thing which makes it clear they have no interest in improving. Stay away from this store!! This has turned into a nightmare!!! We purchased 16 items and almost 2 months later we have received a grand total of 2. They are your best friend when you're in the store shopping, but after you purchase and call to inquire about your delivery, you suddenly become a huge nuisance. Last week (about a month and a half after spending almost $5k on furniture in this store) we called for a status update on the rest of our order. We were finally told that most of it would be delivered today, 4/14. I got no call yesterday about a delivery window, so I call the store right when they open today and I'm told we're "the first stop on the truck today." Then, less than an hour later, they call back and say they can't deliver today, offer no explanation or recourse, and are extremely rude. In fact, when I asked for an explanation about the discrepancy between what I was now being told and what I was told 50 minutes ago, the representative said nothing for a few moments and then shouted for her manager. I could hear them briefly talk about me, then I was placed on hold without notice. A few minutes later a guy picked up and had no idea who I was or why I was calling. Turns out they transferred me to the Hoover store. (This guy, in turn, got me off the phone by saying he was going to investigate, but of course he never called back.) After I finally got them back on the phone later in the day, they are now claiming I will get some items delivered in three days. We'll see! Meanwhile, we've had to purchase some cheap furniture from Wal Mart just to have something to sit on. After reading other reviews for this store and Ashley Furniture overall, it seems like our experience is par for the course, and unfortunately once you sign the contract and give them money there is very little you can do. They have a strict no cancellation, no refund policy. No matter what estimate for delivery they give you at time of purchase, they can stretch it out and play games for as long as they want. And apparently they frequently do. These are shady business practices at best, and I hope a consumer advocate group investigates this company. I will certainly be filing complaints. Avoid this place. They will present with what appears to be excellent service, but when it's time for the kind of customer service that matters the most they flake and disappear. We purchased a sectional here that came in many separate pieces. It was a cool sectional because each individual seat was not attached and it gave endless options on design. It also made it really easy to move it around the living room. We fell in love with the floor model and purchased same day. They ordered a new one and we waited a couple of weeks for it to arrive from their warehouse and to be delivered. The pieces that arrived had an issue: the feet were different and did not match. There were two different designs of feet and one set was black and one set was a dark brown. So two different styles and two different colors on a $1,600 sectional, and yes, it was visible. Here is where they failed us. They never fixed the problem. I called over and over I sent in pictures. I was told they were ordering the feet to match up. No one ever reached out to me. And worse, they stopped talking to me. When I would call they would tell me the CS person was with a client and would call me back. They didn't. They totally ghosted me. I live in Cullman so it's not exactly easy to go in. But I did! I made a special trip and was told the feet were on order. More calls and nothing. I gave up and vowed never to buy another Ashley Furniture item again. Now they just opened a store in Cullman. Beware. read more

I ended up having to take the floor model chest of drawer, it was reduced $250.00, which did make up "a little" for having to take a floor model, then, the mattress that was delivered to me had a large tear in the material, and two puncture holes in it. Not at all happy with that; however, I will say one thing, the two guys that made my delivery, and set up, were extremely polite, very courteous, and very good. Carl Williams, the driver, and evidently the leader, was nothing short of excellent. Very well spoken, very professional, took special care while bring the furniture into the house, very good employee. Bryan Mccombs was probably the assistant, and, had only been with the delivery service for a month or so, he was also very polite and courteous, and, was learning from a good teacher, Carl. Our Sales person, Karara, was very nice, extremely pleasant, and very helpful, and, the I have no problem with the store manager at all, again, he was pleasant and very helpful. I do have a problem with Ashley Furniture, and the way they deal with customer service, and their lack of having complete sets of furniture, and having to get the customer to accept floor models, and, even worse, not having undamaged mattresses to deliver with a bedroom set!! Hard to imagine a furniture retail store that doesn't have their product ready for delivery, undamaged, and complete, after 3 weeks to get it ready! I would compare this to a car dealership that takes 3 weeks to get your car in, then, the tires on the car are all flat, and they have no tires to replace the damaged tires, and tell you it will take about 2 weeks to get tires!!! Not a good buying experience at all, I do not think right now, at this point, I would recommend a friend to purchase from Ashley Furniture. read more

I am very disappointed in this store. I am honestly surprised that it is still open. I recently moved to this area and found a new place to stay. I went in the store to basically furnish multiple parts of my home. I was told by my sales agent that scheduling the delivery of my furniture would be easy but that has proved to be a terrible lie. I found out almost a month after purchasing that the delivery department only delivers to my area on Tuesday's. I specifically told my salesperson about my complex schedule and that a Friday to Sunday delivery would work best. Turns out Tuesdays are the only days that they come to my area!!!!! I took off work one Tuesday after speaking to the scheduling department with promises of fitting me in and they call me on that Tuesday to tell me that the next Tuesday available was in two weeks. Are you serious? I contacted the store twice. No one that can help me ever seems to be in or someone will call me back. They never call. I am in the process of pursuing a formal complaint and work to get my deposit back. I really just want them to keep that terrible furniture and give me my money back. A month and a half later and I still have no couch. This is terrible. Please read this and go somewhere else. No customer service. They do not tell you that they will not stand behind the furniture and that it is not returnable. You only find this out when you have a problem. We picked up our furniture from the warehouse. Since we had thoroughly inspected the item in the store we recognized the piece once we unpacked it from the box. They would not let us pick it up from the store without paying and additional 20 percent on top of the ridiculous high price we paid for the piece. They appear to have sent it to the warehouse for us to pick up up there. When we got it out the box the floor levelers were disintegrated. When I tried to simply get the screw floor levelers I was told they did not have any. I was also told no refunds no returns. This is stated on the receipt that you get when you pay. But you don't read it until you get it and have problems. The staff there is full of lies just so you will buy it. I went back into the store and sure enough the floor sample that we had looked at a week earlier was gone and in its place the same style piece with missing hardware. Don't bother.
