I was in the store last week and purchased a sectional and a Dinette set totaling over $4000 and both were in stock. But then when I can in then following day to set a delivery date they upped the price by $1000 dollars they then proceeded to tell me it was going to take 12 to 16 weeks for deliver. This was the worsts service I have ever received from a furniture store. Be very careful dealing with the sales associate named Tessa. If you've ever been in need of furniture in a larger city, chances are you've heard of Ashley. It's a large chain of low/mid-range furniture for all your home decor needs. It has a very typical home furnishing story layout, which is to say, kind of confusing. They try to set it up by making mini rooms throughout the store and you end up having to wander the entire massive complex in order to see everything of one type. For example, if you are looking for a bed, you'll have to traverse the entire cosmos in order to see the offerings. I'm sure the idea behind this is that they are trying to get you to buy more than one thing but it ends up translating to wasting a lot of time. Ashley's furniture offerings aren't especially high quality but they do look nice. They are the type of pieces that will look good while they last but you should expect to replace them in a few short years. For most people this is fine. A lot of us can't afford to drop the cash required to get high end furniture. Their "leather" offerings are especially low quality (don't trust me on this, go touch and smell it and then do the same thing at Arhaus or Restoration Hardware). The salesmen are a bit pushy so I'm assuming they work on commission. If you tell them that you aren't buying and are just looking then you'll probably never see them again. I find this type of salesmanship very obnoxious and shortsighted. I suppose Ashley is the right kind of store for a lot of people. I have purchased a few things from them in the past... but I'll admit that I always did it with a lump in my throat. In the end, you get what you pay for. read more

I wish that there was a rating of less than 1. I purchased furniture for my daughter's first home as a housewarming gift from Ashley's on Richmond Avenue around august 2020 - they were set to close in October and were advised that the furniture would be available within that time frame. Then began the issues...once they had closed my daughter was told that the furniture was on backorder, and they refused to deliver the pieces that they did have in stock since it had to be "delivered as one order". fast forward to June when my daughter notices that the dining room table's "wood trim was all scratches, despite having a runner covering it. We went to the store and were given the telephone # for customer service, we took a look at the same table and that was also scratched up too, the numbers provided were the wrong numbers - after attempting to get a resolution I have been told by customer service at both Ashley's and GBS (the company who provides the so called "protection service" that since we did not file a claim within 30 days of noticing the damage we can't file a claim...Ashley's who is the manufacturer of the table says that we had to report the damage within 48 t 72 hours of DELIVERY!!! Shredding the credit card from this store and regret purchasing thousands of dollars of furniture. I can only hope that the rest of the furniture does not fall apart - the furniture is less than one year old!! Save your money do NOT shop for furniture at Ashley's. read more

Ordering furniture from Ashley has been a nightmare. I had damaged furniture delivered. I was told all pieces would come together, but when crew showed up to deliver they told me there were missing a piece due to back order. No one informed me. Replacement delivery dates were rescheduled numerous times, often without letting me know. I was told I could have pieces picked up if I was not happy. I have requested items to be picked up since the set isn't complete. I cannot get anyone from the local Athens store, customer service, or management to solve this problem. Management from the store told me the only way to get help would be to write a review. Seriously?! Come Ashley. You can do better. Terrible experience. Terrible customer service. Worse communication. South bend /Mishawaka IN store location is HORRIBLE I ordered my furniture in March 2021 and here we are June 2021 and I still haven't heard from the store . Me as a customer had to reach out to them to get an update and each time I did I got not one , not two NOT three but FOUR different delivery dates. the fourth time I called the manager MarIssa " was to busy to talk to me" and sent me a text message two days later which I did not reply back too because I never got a verbal apology from her. I understand a pandemic is happening but customers come first and the manager or someone in the store should be making phone call to their customers giving them updates and apologizing for such a long wait. If I could give zero stars, i would do just that. I purchased 14k worth of furniture with the exten6warranty four years ago and every piece of furniture has issues. My sofa fabric is falling apart. All of the "wood" furniture has the finish coming off. It all looks like crud. I am still within my expensive warranty time and they will not honor it. Worst experience of my life getting a $2,000 cash deposit back 6 hours after I put it down and was told it would be no problem getting my CASH back free of charge until Monday, and that it would be "put in the notes". 6 hours later I am told that it will be 7-14 days and that it has to go through their billing department. We reported it within 24 hours of receipt and request they come get the furniture. Customer service was non-existent. Total silence. Had to drive to the store in another city only to have the store manager tell us this was a "corporate issue". Finally, we heard from someone who was going to "take care of us" but had to send a repair tech out first. Ray at the lansing location (sales rep) very nice and polite,didnt pressure us at all and that was about the only pro to our visit and purchase. Being told our furniture was in we made the drive(over a hour) all to find out that after 3 calls to confirm it was there it turns out it wasnt. Was told we could follow them to get from other location or deliver it it for free without set up. Now the GM reached out and was nice to try and accommodate for the massive inconvenience however after havin issues after and leavin a specific number to call back he proceeded to call my wife. The delivery guy claimed he was the manager and was less then professional. We at this point are waiting to see how the delivery goes but will never be a return customer to Ashley stores. Please forgive me as I am not sure if you are the correct individual, however, it is my hope as a company brand that you will be able to support as well. On April 20, 2021, I ordered a dining room table for my family to be delivered May 4,2021 between the hours of 3:00-7:00pm. I made the necessary arrangements to ensure I would be present at home to receive the delivery. On May 4, 2021 at 6:28pm I contacted Customer Service to get an estimated time of arrival as I have not heard from Ashley's all day. To my surprise the representative contacted dispatched and informed me that my delivery was rescheduled for May 9th without alerting me of the change and/or checking to see if that date was convenient for me. For the past two weeks my family has suffered loss of three family members. Which two funerals are held this coming weekend. Additionally, it is Mother's Day so unfortunately my family and I will not be home. I informed the representative and she contacted dispatch and was told that the Month of May is booked and I have to hope to be squeezed in. Now, I ordered my furniture two-three weeks ago and to be told that my order was rescheduled because it could not fit on the truck is absurd and shows that Ashley's has no regard for their customers as I did not receive any form of notification. I am connecting with you as my last attempt to connect to receive my delivery before cancellation. My furniture should be delivered before the weekend. I would not recommend this store to anyone. Me and my wife went in looking for a Television stand for our new home in Parma. We knew exactly what we wanted and found exactly what we wanted for a decent price as well. The sales person told us that there were some items on the show room floor that were back ordered or were high demand products so delivery times may be a bit delayed. She took the item number and checked the status on our particular piece of furniture we wanted and found that it was not back ordered or a high demand product which she said was a good thing cause we would get it faster. On our warranty and delivery agreement which once signed is a contract that they have a copy of, there is a printed portion saying that estimated furniture delivery time is 12-18 weeks. Our sales person assured us that because our product was not back ordered or in high demand that our time would be 1-3 weeks minimum which she wrote in pencil at the top. This was back on December 30th 2021. It is now April 15th and I still do not have this piece of furniture and of course I am past the 4 week mark where if I now cancel my order I am out $700 and dealing with their customer service department is a joke. I have expressed my concerns and frustrations with this and all I am being told is the sales person should not have promised us that short delivery window. They have offered apology incentives like $50 off my order or a $75 gift card towards a future purchase but we will never be going back here again. read more

My husband and I will never be shopping at Ashley furniture again. We bought a pretty expensive sectional there and within weeks found it to be sunken in and not the quality that was displayed on the showroom floor. The sales people are pushy and they follow you around giving you no privacy while browsing. Our whole experience with Ashley has been horrible. I purchased a chase and a sofa from Ashley on January 27 2016. It was scheduled for delivery this morning. Since they will not take your old couches away we donated them to habitat for humanity they picked them up yesterday. When the furniture arrived this morning it was the wrong color. Now I have no furniture until the reorder comes in. They store will tell you there is nothing they can do you must call corporate. Corporate will give you the run around. There only resolution is give you a loner until yours comes in, but if it stains or has any hair its yours and you pay for both. I have a wife with long hair and a five-year-old daughter and two dogs. No matter how well you try to take care of it there's going to be hair. Buyer beware definitely read more

I understand the sales people probably get commission for helping shoppers but Shellie literally couldn't take a hint to leave me alone to browse for myself. I really have hesitated writing this review because I was hoping for a good outcome but unfortunately that was not the case. We purchased a sofa chase and love seat with a sales lady that was nice but very pushy. After much searching, we settled because the furniture looked good and met our price range. Our order took almost a month for delivery, which I actually anticipated. When it came, it was damaged. I came home 20-30 minutes after delivery because furniture was delivered out of window and I had to leave, so someone else had to let the delivery men in. I called within an hour but since after hours, they had to put a message in. Someone called me back and asked if I got the warranty. I said no and they advised they would Have to have someone take my upholstery apart and fix the dent. I agreed at first but after I spoke to someone, decided that was not satisfactory because no one even signed off on the original. Thankfully, a new order was put in. About a month later my new couch arrived, but it had a huge black stain on the arm. I let the delivery men know that I didn't want it and they put someone on the phone who offered to clean the piece. I wanted it to be replaced and not risking it not being cleaned right. So they sent that piece back and I rescheduled again for a new couch. A day or so before my 3rd delivery, I was advised that they had to delay another week or two because they didn't have any deliveries scheduled. The original order was placed in March and the 3rd couch was coming in June. It was frustrating to say the least. After spending over $1400, I was given a $50.00 Gift card to comp me for the inconvenience. Now, the couch that was replaced makes a strange noise when you put pressure on the arm. And I'm so afraid it will break like the other couches people have bought from Ashley (discovered after I read the reviews). Money is tight for my family and this is was not an easy thing to just hand over $1400 + dollars. Not to mention time taken off for work and our busy schedules for delivery after delivery. And now we have a couch that makes a popping sound when you lean too hard? This is a mess and no one has ever made it right. This actually makes me sick to my stomach. Great experience with salesman Darin M. We were out shopping around on Saturday looking for a new bed. Darin let us know he was there to help, but did not follow us around. When we did go to him for help, he took us to exactly what we were looking for and didn't pressure us into anything. We ended up buying the whole bedroom set instead of just the bed when we learned about the 72 month no interest promotion. I can only describe what happened yesterday at the Brooklyn Ashley Furniture store as astonishing. I walked in knowing exactly what coffee table I wanted to buy and ready to buy it. For a sales person it doesn't get much easier than that which is why I can only describe the botchery of this sale by this sales person and the doubling down by his manager as "astonishing". Now I knew the coffee table was out of stock at the moment but Ashley has always been able to order the product (as long as it wasn't discontinued). I showed the gentleman the table I was looking for off of the Ashley Furniture website and he promptly looked into ordering it. He came back and said that he could order it but he couldn't sell it to me for the price listed on the website as they had to have it made. I should have also added that on the website directly under the price it says "Price Match Guaranteed". Before he could even tell me what my new higher price would be I pointed out the verbiage on the website and told him that I would not pay a dollar more than that. He then stumbled through explaining to me that all products have a tax associated with the sale as well as additional charges for shipping. After explaining I knew what sales tax was, I understand paying additional for delivery and I was referring to the pretax/predelivery price of the coffee table he continued to double down on not being able to match the price of the coffee table that was listed on their own website. He told me that I couldn't order the product online (as it was out of stock) and only get it through him/his store so "why would he sell it for that guaranteed price". I was shocked. It felt like a complete shake down. Never have I had to pay "more" than the asking price for a product. I was literally trying to negotiate the product price back down to what was displayed on their website! Knowing there were other Ashley Furniture stores and that this couldn't be typical with all of them I decided to leave empty handed. When I returned to my car I decided to quickly give the Fairlawn Ashley Furniture store a call as it is equally as far from where I live. I explained the same things to this salesperson that I initially explained to the Brooklyn Ashley Furniture saleperson and added if she were willing to sell me the coffee table for the price listed on the website then I would buy it. She sort of laughed and said of course as long as they could still get the product. In less than 10 minutes I purchased the coffee table over the phone from the Fairlawn store while sitting in the Brooklyn stores parking lot for the listed price that the Brooklyn store said they couldn't sell it to me for. Now read that last sentence again. I decided to go back into the Brooklyn Ashley Furniture store to explain what just happened to the manager so they can better assist their customers in the future. To my shock the manager actually doubled down on her employees sales tactics and told me that it was their store policy. I tried explaining that wasn't the case at the other Ashley stores and it cost them a sale in her own parking lot. She didn't seem to care. I informed her that I would never shop at her store again as I will just go to the other stores that don't randomly markup their products for ridiculous reasons. In the end this is my advice to future customers. By all means go to the Brooklyn Ashley furniture store to shop. Their sales team was friendly and knowledgeable about their products (my guess is they jusy suffer from poor management and leadership). But once you get to the point of buying the product go to (or call) a different Ashley store as the exact same product is literally cheaper. read more

I purchased a queen sized sleep sofa & love seat set a year ago. It started looking bad after 6 mos. The cushions are not holding up well, and the couch itself is totally uncomfortable to sit on. the cushions sink into the couch horribly. This is the shabbiest and cheapest quality furniture I have ever purchased. I am angry because I spent over $2250 on livingrm furniture and its not worth it. I will NEVER, EVER buy from Ashley again. The pullout bed is broken. It will cost $60/hr for tech to come out and make the repair once the mechanism has been ordered. Horrible Horrible furniture. I checked out a few weeks ago the new Ashley Furniture in Avon, Ohio. I helped my mother get a sofa bed she liked I They waived the delivery fee. My mother waited 2 weeks for the delivery once they got to her apartment they didn't bring the sofa in they just looked at the elevator and said the sofa bed won't fit. My mother asked if they are going to try the stairs the delivery people said we don't do stairs. Ashley Furniture called me and said my mother would have to get a smaller couch, I said that was the only one she liked so I want a refund back, the woman then said well you will still have to pay a 99.00 delivery fee since they made the attempt and it was out of their control since its a 3rd party delivery service, hell they didn't even take the sofa out of the truck. If this is a 3rd party delivery service how were they able to take off the delivery service fee when we purchased the sofa. Me and my girlfriend seen a bedroom set that we were planning on getting after this fiasco I'll never spend a cent on anything from Ashleys, I feel sorry for the people of Avon if this is the type of business Ashleys new store is going to offer. I guess next stop I'll see what Levin and Kronheim have to offer, and any other furniture place but these crooks, hope the 99.00 was worth it! Update: After yesterday's fiasco, today 8/17/18 after work I went to Ashley's for a refund the lady at the customer service desk called the corporate manager to speak with me, I told him the story in regards to the movers, upon which he said their movers are professionals and know what will fit and what will not and don't want to take a chance on damaging the product. ( now prior to coming to Ashley's I measured the elevator and looked at the stair way which was wide not narrow easy to bring the product up, when I came to Ashley's I measured the couch there was more than enough room to bring on elevator), he also said they are 3rd party and have to be paid. I told him that Courtney the sales person had waived the delivery fee when I purchased the item, he said he didn't know of any agreements from the sales rep, I also said there wasn't no delivery not even an attempt! I don't believe this is a 3rd party delivery service especially when they're driving an Ashley truck, this is just some shady way for the company to get around any unforeseen future problems and to also get a 99.00 fee no matter what. The corporate manager also said that their guys also do deliver up stairs up to 2 floors, now my mother lives on a 3rd floor, hmm isn't that convenient 2 floors, I also told him their delivery guys said they don't do stairs! Also if you notice this corporate person said our guys, hmm now didn't he tell me their delivery is 3rd party? It's a shame me and my mother comes to a business such as this to make what should've been a easy purchase and my mother ends up in tears. This store is an absolute joke and, honestly, if I could give 0 stars I would. When we initially ordered our furniture, we were told it would take approximately 2-4 weeks for pick-up (which already seemed like an excessive amount of time). After about 6 weeks and no furniture, we decided to call and see what the problem was. Apparently, they "lost" our furniture and to make up for it they were going to deliver it free of charge. However, this delivery also took its time to arrive. We ended up waiting a total of 8 weeks to receive our furniture, which was 2-4x longer than we were told. In addition, Ashley was running a promotion where you would receive a gift card if you opened up a credit line. We thought this was a great deal and figured we could just pay off the furniture ASAP. The gift card was initially supposed to be $75, but after the issue with deliver they promised to give us $125 instead. When the furniture arrived, I asked the delivery man if the total was $125 and he assured me it was. We later went to the store to check the value of it and were told it was only $75, which was the 2nd lie we received. The sales person we worked with conned us into purchasing the extended warranty. We were not told that it was through a 3rd party, but we were told that it covered animal damage, scratches, stains, etc. This seemed super appealing as accidents happen and furniture is not cheap. The 1st week into owning our dining room table we noticed how susceptible to scratches it was, as anything from a fork, salt & pepper shakers, and even a candle left scratches. This made the appearance of a brand new table look as if we had owned it for years. Seeing as I was upset, I decided to call the Customer Service about the scratches. I waited 45 minutes just to speak with someone and described what was going on. They said there was nothing they could do and transferred me to the extended warranty company. It was in this moment that I discovered the warranty was through Platinum Warranty Services. I described the same situation to the representative at Platinum Warranty and they claimed that because the furniture was still applicable for the 1st year manufacturer warranty they could not service my claim. As a result, I called back to Ashley, waited another 30 minutes, and was told I should have never been transferred to Platinum Warranty in the first place. They ended up setting up a time for a technician to come out. When the technician arrived he evaluated the table and said that Ashley would likely send somebody to repair the scratches or they would replace the table all together. However, 2-3 weeks had passed and I had not heard back about what action Ashley was going to take, so I decided to call. Again, there was a ridiculous wait time. When the representative finally answered she reviewed the files and claimed that they could no longer help me because I moved (which apparently voids the warranty and is something I WAS NEVER TOLD). She told me to call the extended warranty people once again. So there I was calling Platinum Services. This time they decided to set up a claim. They asked me if I owned an animal and if I thought they could contribute to the scratches, to both I naively replied yes. They continued to ask me questions about the extent of the damage and at the end of the conversation stated they could not repair or replace the table because they do not cover animal damages. I informed them that Ashley said otherwise when they sold me the warranty. They apologized and said they cannot control what Ashley says, but that they only cover animal urination/feces. They stated all of this was in their terms & conditions and I told them I never received a copy of this. They responded by stating they would expedite me them. For the 4th time, a few weeks later, I called Ashley and described all of the trouble I was having and they simply told me there was nothing to be done. I complained that I was misled and sold something other than what they described. I also stated that the quality of the furniture was terrible, to which the agent replied, "unfortunately, the quality of our furniture has gone down over they years but we still sell quality furniture". I suspect she thought this would make me feel better, when in fact it made me feel worse and entirely regret my decision to buy Ashley furniture. She stated she would assist me in convincing Platinum to cover the damages, so again I was transferred and told it was not covered due to the terms & conditions (which I had STILL not received). After nearly an hour, they referred me to the supervisor who said she would accept photos. I sent the photos and they reviewed them only to say they were surface scratches. The best part is the email ended up failing to send and they never received photos. If you enjoy being lied to, having non-quality furniture, and crappy warranties, then please do buy this furniture. I, however, will never buy from them again!! read more

My husband and I purchased a couch from Ashley thinking it would last us a while. We were wrong. In less than a year, the couch became increasingly uncomfortable. We had the extended warranty in which the sales woman said would basically give us a new couch if they couldn't fix something on our couch. We called the warranty company listed on our paperwork and we told them that the wooden part of the recliner on the back part of the couch was broken, they stated, "does it still recline?" We stated that it did. The woman for the warranty company stated that if it still reclines, there is nothing they can do for us! This is extremely frustrating being that we have a newborn and can't afford to spend money on a new couch. Be leary getting furniture and the warranty from this store. as much as I hate to be this person....customer service from Ashley furniture sucks. Once they get your sale don't ever expect any help from them on ANYTHING else. We had furniture delivered by Ashley Furniture and the truck left an ENORMOUS amount of BLACK OIL on our driveway and leaked all the way down the drive into the street. No help from Manager of the store. He said they have nothing to do with it. After being transferred around from person to person we finally got someone that I thought would be helpful. We sent photos of the drive, sent a receipt for having the drive pressured washed and then photos afterwards because the stains are still there. I thought the problem was nearly resolved because the person said they were willing to pay for the pressure washing. After not hearing anything back I once again called only to find that the truck used was rented from ENTERPRISE. So once again it seems Ashley is out of the picture and not willing to cooperate. So now dealing with ENTERPPISE is a whole separate deal. ENTERPRISE cannot complete their "investigation" without speaking to ASHLEY. So to get this straight, Ashley rents these trucks from ENTERPRISE and their is no communication between the two of them. I DO NOT recommend dealing with ASHLEY or ENTERPRISE. We visited Ashley last weekend to find several items. The consultant that helped us, JoAnn Fazio, was fantastic! When we told her we were looking for bedroom furniture in a particular color and style, she immediately showed us a set that fit our description that was on clearance in the back of the store. It was exactly what we were looking for, and we purchased it. She saved us a lot of time as we wouldn't have made it to the back of the store for quite some time. Additionally, we appreciated that she first showed us items that were on clearance, as she could have waited to show them them to us as a "last resort" in order to make a more profitable sale. JoAnn also helped us find a dining room table set that fit our needs. We ended up buying a particular table with only two chairs (vs. four), and she didn't try to convince us to buy something with all four chairs or that was more expensive. We were greeted by several other consultants while JoAnn was busy with other customers, as well, and they were all very helpful. While looking for a mattress at this store a lady that knew nothing about mattresses assisted me. like any other store she tried to get us to buy an expensive mattress that didn't meet our needs.. All in all she was not helpful. We did however have another sales man help us and we did end up buying a mattress. When informed on the pickup date we were surprised as it was 16 days. Since we dont know much about this we blew it off. We called again a couple days latter and was told it would be in by the 8th, 3 different times. We decided to change the pickup to a delivery as it would be easier. While speaking to the department the then told us this would not be in till the 19th. Enraged we asked them to look into this further and they ended up changing this date 3 more times.. This experience was just a headache. Maybe others will not have this problem but my point is these people are not helpful and seem like they lack communication and knowledge.. read more

Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. After purchasing a couch at the end of September to have for the upcoming holidays, our scheduled delivery date got pushed back into January 2016 and missed all the holidays we needed extra seating for. We received no explanation as to why the couch was delayed. After asking for a further reduction of the purchase price due to the extended lateness of the product and the fact they already had received full payment in September the best they could do was $50, which I felt was insulting. I now have $250 in Ashley furniture gift cards that I will probably not use because of the bad taste this experience left for me. Be very cautious when dealing with Ashley Furniture. read more

Very disappointed almost 2 month unable to deliver the first delivery schedule was just promise that never done although they confirmed the delivery date customer care and store is careless nobody want to resolve the issue they blame the factory no one want to take responsibility for the delay what should I do as customer? Ordered $15,000 of furniture in September. Delivery in October was horrible! Incorrect size mattress and box spring. No bed rails, no dresser mirror. Corrected order delivery was today. Couldn't locate hardware for bedrail and headboard/footboard!!!! Could not assemble! Now I have to wait for hardware to be mailed to me and schedule yet ANOTHER corrected order delivery!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! If you want to avoid a massive headache, DO NOT purchase your furniture here! My son will continue to sleep on the floor for who knows how long! read more
