I purchased a battery for our loveseat that we also purchased from Ashley Furniture. They are under new ownership and new management. My wife and I needed a battery due to health problems making it difficult to get out of the chair at those times when the power goes out. The new manager Drex sold my wife and me a defective Enouvation battery that Enouvation sold Ashley Furniture back in 2001. I had to call the manufacturer because I tried to get a refund after two failed attempts with two different batteries and was told that the batteries were sold as-is. Of course, the paperwork said that there was a 5 year service agreement. In any event, I would love to speak directly to the owner. He or she should know how the new manager treats long time customers. If Drex was my employee, he would have a short time to get his act together or he would be gone. I highly recommend the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney General's office for this business when it comes to complaints because management doesn't listen. read more

We bought 4 Sommerford Dining Chairs. When we put them together 3 out of the 4 were not level. We contacted the company and thought the legs were drilled wrong so after sending them pictures to confirm our complaint new legs were ordered for the chairs. After receiving the legs and replacing the legs it was determined that was not the problem but the base of the chairs were drilled wrong and the new legs were still not level. Now a few weeks have passed and again contacting the company explaining the problem, the chairs have been discontinued. They won't refund my money but if I donate the chairs and prove it to them they will then and only then, refund my money. read more

I stopped in today to look at an electric chair. Xavier helped us quickly, answered our questions, explained options then left us to think it over and discuss. Decided to stop in with my son the other night after work, and did not enjoy my experience. I know furniture store employees work on commission, and usually keep an eye out for any possible sale, but this was awful! The salesman who greeted us when we entered the store never left us alone; every time we thought we were alone and could discuss the furniture in private, there was the salesman hovering nearby, listening to our conversation, staring at us, making us feel very uncomfortable. The store is not small, and we took the time to walk through the whole thing, all the while the salesman following so close behind. There were two pieces I seriously thought about collecting, but probably won't go back for a second look because the first trip was so uncomfortable. read more

I really need new furniture in a bad way but these people made me feel way to uncomfortable to purchase! They stalked me throughout the whole store. Overheard my conversation with my husband and interrupted our private discussion to offer their opinion. This was a horrible experience from the get go! We ordered a adjustable bed and was delivered a standard bed with not lifts. The first time around. Took and extra week to get the correct bed. They sold us a mattres cover and talked so highly about how we needed it. Once the bed was here they told us the cover was on back order for over three weeks. They instructed us to lay on towels to protect the mattres. On top of that they sold us a cheaper bed that was suppose to have all the bells and whistles and then delivered it lacking one feature. When I went to the store they told me that I was wrong that they had never said such a thing and that I could pay the difference and a restocking fee to get the other bed. I declined that idea and went about our business. A year later we decided to give them a second chance because they had a good sale going on. We purchased a couch, two recliners., a end table and a coffee table. We were told it should be in the following Thursday. We opted to pick up our furniture ourself. When I called the following Thursday they told me that the recliners were in the warehouse in college station and the couch would be there that day and that the tables would be there in a week or so. I asked if they could go ahead and bring the sofa and recliners to Lufkin so we could have something to sit on after two weeks of no furniture. They agreed and said it would be there to pick up on the following Thursday. So a week later I called to check the status of our furniture and they informed me that all my furniture had just got to the warehouse in college station that day so it would be another week on the next Thursday before we could pick up our furniture. I was ticked off by this point. I spoke with the salesperson and he and his manager were going to have the furniture delivered to our house at no charge that Saturday. I agreed and they promised all the furniture would be here. The warehouse called an hour later and once again they guaranteed it would ALL be delivered that day. So now here we are on that day and they delivered TWO of FIVE items. A recliner and A end table which were BOTH damaged! We Refused the two items and I went to the store to cancel our order which they did without giving me a huge hassel. Just beware if you purchase from this company! On top of all that the salesperson was very unprofessional. He greeted us and we spoke briefly and we went about browsing. We know another salesperson there personally and spoke with him for a little while. The first salesperson pulled him to the side and got snippy with him. We left with the intent of returning the following day to purchase our furniture. That salesperson came up to us and the first thing he said was that him and our friend were going to split the commission which we thought was odd. We told him that he met with us first it should be his sale. Later after we were looked around a bit more he waited for me to walk off to look at something and he pulled my wife to the side up to his manager and told his manager that my wife had something to tell him. This was very awkward for her and I wasn't happy about it. The manager took him to the back and proceeded to yell at him and tell him that he should never do such a thing. After he got in trouble he came back to proceed with the sale. While he was talking with us he was putting down his manager and the other employees stating that he brought over a million dollars of sales with him from Ivan Smith and he was basically better than any other salesperson in the store. He also proceeded to show us pictures on his cell phone of some glass sales trophies trying to validate himself as a great salesperson. The whole experience was horrible and I will never be back! ***************************** Edit as of 7/6/15 ***************************** One of the owners of the company called me today and left a lengthy voice mail. He was sincere about the whole ordeal and really seemed upset about our experience. He left me his personal cell number so that I could call him if I had any questions or wanted to voice my experience further. I was more than likely a little hasty with the initial review. My biggest issues was the Salesperson and the warehouse not following through with their guarantee. In the voice message the owner stated that the person I spoke about was no longer with the company. I appreciated his call, however, we still have no desire to do business with them. read more

I purchased my first piece from Ashley in December of 2013. The delivery was a fiasco, as one of the pieces was a Christmas present and did not arrive until after even though I was promised it would be there in time. I decided to go back because the furniture is decent quality for the price, and until our children get older we just do not want to spend a ton of money on furniture. I ordered my furniture two weeks prior to moving into our new house. We have been in the house for over two weeks and all of it still has not arrived. Two out of the four dining room chairs that have arrived are quite wobbly. My daughter's beds came in and the delivery men informed me that parts were missing so they could not assemble the beds. Both of the boxes the beds came in were missing the same piece, which proves poor quality control. The men left the beds partially assembled, and piled the rest of the parts into my closet. I was told the parts would be sent to me. l called to check on the status, and no one had been made aware of my situation. The lady, Rita in customer service told me she would call me back when she found out the status, but I never heard from her. When I called to speak with a manager (I had been told earlier in the day that the manager was busy and would return my phone call), the person I spoke with told me the manager was on a cruise and would not be back for a week. After speaking with her, I was told that the pieces would take approximately two weeks to get here. Obviously this store has never heard of rushing something to satisfy a displeased customer. I asked if I could get an instruction manual since obviously I'm going to be expected to complete the assembly of these beds. She said, "of course, we'll get it for you." Then I asked if some of the balance was going to be returned due to all of the problems. She said she'll have to speak to the manager. STAY AWAY. The furniture might be decently price and made, but it's not worth the hassle of dealing with this particular store. Completely unprofessional! read more
