1 Star Terrible experience with Ashley Furniture - Barrie location I bought a sofa from Ashley Barrie in April, and it arrived damaged. I reported it right away and was told a ticket was created for repair or replacement. It's now been over 3 months, and nothing has been fixed. Every time I call, I'm told they're "waiting for a part" -- no updates, no accountability. I was also promised a discount during a promotional event, but it was never applied. After multiple follow-ups, they finally admitted it was missed but still haven't processed any refund. I've contacted customer service over 20 times with no resolution. I can't even return the sofa now because they've dragged it out so long. I'm stuck with a damaged product and zero support. Avoid Ashley Barrie unless you enjoy being ignored after spending your hard-earned money. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

Store staff friendly however getting your product a nightmare and getting damaged product even worse. 8 weeks at the least to receive new ones or have someone fix issue. Customer service 1-800 # refusal to forward calls to the manager. I've spent upwards of $20,000 at Ashley and was planning on buying 3 new bedroom sets mattresses included, sofas and more. FALSE ADVERTISING Bought a king and queen size of the same mattress from Ashley's Barrie store on March 24/22. Ashley's website clearly showed that delivery of this product to our postal code would be free.   See screen shot attached to prove it.   There are no asterisk or restrictions noted in this area of the page. Thus our surprise when the sales rep informed us that shipping would be $100 plus tax for dropping the products at our door.   We never got an adequate explanation as to why Ashley was not prepared to live up to its statements on the web.  Therefore we consider this deceptive advertising on Ashley's part, and ask that our $100 + tax be refunded. This is not the only issue we encountered.  When we arrived at the store, we showed the sales rep the product we wanted to buy, including the SKU #.   When we went to pay, I asked to see the sales order before I handed over my credit card.  Sure enough, the sales rep was about to sell me a completely different mattress.   They blamed it on store signage being mixed up!    Our confidence in Ashley's customer service was certainly shaken. I got texts and emails keeping me informed as to the delivery progress and the furniture actually came an hour before the 3 hour window we were given. Incredibly disappointed with the service at Ashley HomeStore Barrie and Ashley Customer Care. We purchased (2) pull-out sofas in early November and were promised delivery by December 6th. We received a phone call early December to arrange delivery. Later that day, we were told that call was in error. We were then told guaranteed delivery by Dec. 23. then that too did not happen. Then we were told possibly by mid January. All the while, they had our full payment. When it became evident that we were unlikely to get the sofas, we cancelled the order just prior to Christmas. It then took the company until January 10th to refund our money. Two months of run-arounds, promises, broken promises! We will never, ever again deal with this company. Buyer Beware!! read more

When first purchasing our sectional we were pleased with the service from Ashley. However less than a few months into our purchase and our couch is severely pilling and is not attractive. I took the cushions in to show my sales person and he directed me to call the customer care service as they don't deal with any complaints or issues at the store. Really ---customer care service couldn't care less that I was not pleased with the material pilling. She said is was normal to pill and I needed to buy a fabric shaver. I have owned several cloth couches and have NEVER needed a fabric shaver to make it look good!!! Apparently I was supposed to have been warned that the fabric might pill. Well if I had been told that up front I would not have bought the sectional as it's ugly!!! This is not good customer service and I will never shop at Ashley again and will tell friends and family to be aware they don't stand by their products. read more

If I had an opportunity to rate a 0(zero) I would. Service at the store was good. Once you leave the store don't expect any customer service. Customer care is unresponsive, they will disrespect you, they will lie to you and give you empty promises. First and last time to purchase from this franchise. First, I would like to start by saying my girlfriend and I love Ashley furniture's stylish designs, quality and affordable prices. However, their logistics and customer service department are atrocious. We purchased a 3-piece sectional couch for our basement a couple months ago and it finally arrived last weekend. When it arrived, we realized it wouldn't fit down our stairs (our fault). So instead, we were forced to remove our sliding glass door from our walkout basement. This took about 30-45 minutes. We then removed our old couch and carried our new couch around our house and into the basement. We removed the packaging only to discover the couch was facing the OPPOSITE direction! We specifically ordered the version with the chaise lounge on the LEFT and love seat on the RIGHT, due to the configuration of our basement! We reluctantly removed the "new couch" from our basement because we didn't want it to be damaged. We brought our old couch back inside and carried our new couch back around the house. Slipping and falling multiple times because it had started to snow. We then reassembled our sliding glass door (another 30-45 mins) and called Ashley to explain our frustration. The individual on the phone said he couldn't help us because the order was still "open" and asked us to call back tomorrow. What a joke. But ok, when we called the next day, we were informed that there was not even a ticket submitted. So, the first person literally did nothing. We frustratingly submitted a service ticket and were informed we'd be contacted within the next 2 days. We were not contacted. We called back after 2 days and was told by the third person that they had delivered the correct couch and that they simply did not understand our problem. We asked to speak with someone else only to meet more resistance, so we hung up. We called back and spoke with another individual (fourth person) who was more helpful, but again, they informed us that our ticket was still open, and they would be in touch soon. Fast forward - over a week has passed and we have still not received any calls or updates from Ashley. Our "new couch" is currently repackaged and taking up space in our main floor family room (see attached image) because we don't have anywhere else to put it. We called Ashley again today just to see if they can at least come and remove the couch so we can have our living space back. But they simply just created another service ticket with seemingly no urgency. We asked if they had a timeline, but they said they couldn't give us one. So, we are now stuck with a massive INCORRECT sectional taking up our entire living room while we wait to hear back. The best part is this is the second time Ashley has messed up an order for us. This customer service and response time is simply not acceptable. We would appreciate speaking with someone who will treat us like actual humans instead of another service ticket. HhI have purchased over $8,000 worth of furniture from Ashley and they were all delivered to my house on Dec 23rd, 2022.After a couple of days, I noticed that one of the tables (Serial #631313109289) was swellen and I contacted Ashley on Jan 3rd 2023 to inform them. They scheduled for a Pick Up to see if they can repair it, if not, to replace the table top.(This is what I was told by Ashley Customer Care Agent).They brought back the table on Jan 28th, 2023 with no repair or replacement done.I talked to one their customer care Agent, who was very rude speaking to me over the phone, interrupting me and not letting me to speak. I asked for the supervisor, she came on the phone saying that why I didn't report it within 48 hours, and I tried to explain her that it was Christmas holidays and then new Year holidays, and I called right after holidays on Jan 3rd, 2023, However, the problem happened after a couple of days. The wood started to swell and told them that I think it's because on the delivery day, it was snowing and delivery guys, had left my table, unboxed, exposed to snow and maybe that has caused for this to happen.The supervisor ignored all my explanation and said there is nothing she can do except for a $71 discount on this item which I don't accept.I don't want money back, I just need a table in perfect condition to be delivered correctly to my house.I couldn't believe the way I was spoke to by Ashley representatives on the phone. No customer service AT ALL !!!I DID NOT accept the delivery and returned the table back.I'm looking to get my Table replaced to a new one with NO DAMAGE as I DO HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY on it. I'm frustrated dealing with Ashley Customer Care. Not only they don't help, but they also treat you in a worst way possible as a customer!!! Basically, we, customers, are the ones spending our money there only to get such a rude service. Customer Care Representative, named Mike, was very rude on the phone saying that he's not going around circle with me when I asked that I want to speak with Arman, who is the ONLY manager Ashley has. When I insisted, he hung up the phone on me !!! That's how rude and bad the customer care team is. Do yourself a favor and don't buy anything from them. Do a little bit of a research and see how many bad reviews and complaints they have. I had gone into the location in barrie park place. Purchased a sectional couch and had it delivered. They called it the white glove service. These two young kids damaged my walls in 3 places and almost took down a light fixture in the process before realizing the couch would not fit. The delivery persons assured me that the store would take care of the damage. But after a few weeks the store management tells me the delivery kids said it was all existing damage. If you purchase anything from this store and have it delivered its in your best intrest to film them because they wont take responsibility for damaging your home.! Horrible place not the Ashley (Dufresne Group) quality of the past . Bought kitchen and dinette set within months began peeling, warping and fading. I also bought their 5 year warranty. They did not honor their one year manfactures warranty which promises to restore your item to showroom quality or it will be replaced. I also bought a four year seperate Ashley warranty. They claim my problem is that of a cosmetic nature and not a structural one so no coverage. They did not send anyone out. Just served them with small claims papers! Purchased bedroom furniture from this store with the overall 'buying' experience being very positive. However, and unfortunately it went down hill from there. We were told the delivery personnel would have coverings for their footwear, etc and that they would set up our furniture exactly where and how we wanted it. Wrong! Upon arrival I had to direct them to remove their footwear. When I asked about footwear coverings one chuckled. The manner in which they handled the furniture was awkward at best. Once all the furniture was in the house one representative remained to mount the mirror; the other rep disappeared. As he attempted to mount and secure the mirror it fell and if I hadn't been there to catch it there would have definitely been damage to the wall and mirror. Unacceptable. I noticed a scratch on one of the dressers and pointed it out to the Representative. He insisted it was not a scratch, but the pattern of the wood finish. Contacted customer service and arranged a mutually agreed time for a service technician to attend. A few days later a technician attended our residence, assessed the dresser in question and photographed both the scratch and the bottom drawer which was not shutting properly. He then sent the photos to his office? No repairs or adjustments made! A few days later I received a call from Customer Service to schedule another 'repair' appointment. A few more days later a 2nd service representative attended our residence. From first meeting this individual he left me feeling anything but confident. I explained the situation, defects and previous visit by another technician. This was clearly the first time he heard any part of this matter. He looked, took pictures and emailed them to his office and advised he couldn't do anything. That's twice. Unacceptable. Received a call from Customer Service last week advising a new drawer was being ordered and that once in, 2 - 4 weeks, they would schedule a time to pick up my dresser and take it back to their warehouse to repair the scratch which would take a week or so. Today I spoke with Customer Service who confirmed this is their procedure in relation to defective product. Based on my overall experience, the inconvenience, and the money spent, I could not in good conscience recommend Ashley Furniture. read more

We purchased a sectional from Ashley in Barrie and it was delivered on Dec. 13/21. The delivery truck backed over our new stone patio and damaged the stone and also created huge ruts in our lawn. We immediately called Ashley to report the damage and sent them pictures and a video. It is now the end of May, and despite numerous phone calls and emails to Guest Care, we have not received any compensation. At one point they told me that if I could get a quote from the landscaper who did the stonework, they would pay it. But when I got the quote, they said they needed two quotes. However, they keep saying they can't get a 2nd quote and have been saying this for months. And in the meantime, we are stuck with a mess. I have also tried calling the store, but no one answers the phone. The whole experience has been beyond frustrating and I will never shop there again. read more

BUYER BEWARE! July 16, 2017: After shopping for several months for a couch, we purchased the Karis sofa from the Barrie showroom. Our salesperson was personable, but was having issues with the computer system. We were not in a hurry, and it was newly opened, so we were patient with the delays. Eventually, everything was ordered; and we were to pick up our sofa August 22nd at the Vaughan showroom as requested by us. We were told this was no problem and it would be ready in 3-4 weeks which seemed to be perfect as we were travelling and did not require it until the end of August. August 22, 2017: After returning from travelling, I rented a U-Haul trailer that would be used to transport the sofa from Vaughan to our new home in London. As there was no further contact from Ashley HomeStore, I was under the impression that our sofa would be available in Vaughan as originally agreed upon. I arrived at the store at 6:30pm to be told the warehouse closed at 5:30pm and there was nothing they could do. I was never told the warehouse hours differed from the store hours. I was then informed that my sofa wasn't even IN the warehouse, and had been delayed until September 15th; a full 8 weeks after purchase. The manager(?) of the Vaughan store (Michelle) was sympathetic and offered free delivery and setup to our home in London on September 15th and that we would be contacted if anything changed. September 11, 2017: Now extremely distrustful of Ashley HomeStore, we called the Guest Care number to confirm we were still getting our couch on September 15th as we had not heard anything further. We were informed that our sofa was now showing an estimated arrival date (to their showroom) of September 16th, one day later than our delivery date. After pressing the representative for answers, we learned that a couch was RE-ORDERED on August 22nd. There is no explanation as to where our couch ordered July 16th is, and it is this second order that is now delayed. We were told that there was a miscommunication between the Barrie and Vaughan store, despite making our delivery arrangements very clear and having the Barrie sales rep (Dannette) agree that this was no problem. We are now expecting a call back on September 13th to verify if they can make the September 15th delivery date. IT HAS BEEN 2 MONTHS! The couch is fully paid for and still not in our home. Completely unacceptable from any retailer. We will never recommend or use this company ever again. read more

I purchased a bed at Ashley furniture in Barrie. Most of the reason we purchased here is because we have had trouble getting an existing piece of furniture out of the room. The sales person let me know that part of the service provide is they bring in the new furniture and will relocate another piece.The sales person made sure this was going to happen before I purchased because the item i needed moved,I explained was very heavy. The day of delivery you get a 3 hour window I had to have someone wait at my home because I work. The delivery people arrived and refused to relocate the furniture and said they only move head boards. I called and complained so they set my up for yet another 3 hour window for the delivery people to come back just to relocate my furniture as promised. Again I had to have someone come wait at my home. Again they refused to move it and said they only relocate Ashley furniture. I called again and complained. I was told they will come back out to take apart the wardrobe I said no i am not wasting another minute of my time and that I explained very clearly it is heavy and awkward and what sort of people do they have delivering furniture. My 65 year old uncle and a friend put the wardrobe upstairs but men that move furniture for a living refused. All they offered me was to return my delivery fee. It's been 5 days and I have not heard back from anyone, not even the sales rep. My entire house is furnished with Ashley furniture and I had planned to buy the dresser to go with the bed but I will not because this was all such a hassle and false advertising! We purchased 2 identical power reclining loveseats from the Barrie store back in November. After much searching for what we wanted, we were happy with what we had selected. Our salesperson, Deborah, was very helpful and patient throughout the process. The order time was quick (a week or 2 can't remember exactly) and the delivery process was amazing. Being able to track the delivery so you don't have to sit around waiting was very helpful. One of the loveseats had an issue with the usb port in the console. They were very professional in the system they use to report the issue and prepare for repairing it. Unfortunately a few attempts to repair the part were not successful but they did a good job of communicating to keep us informed. At last we went to the store to explain that we were growing tired of the attempt to repair as we all have busy lives and thought it would just be better if they would replace either the console piece that contains the usb or replace the loveseat. The people at the store, Lise and a gentleman I didn't get his name, agreed and made all the necessary arrangements for the replacement. I have read a few negative reviews about Ashley, I have come to the conclusion based on my own experience, that either those people have very high expectations or are just difficult people because everyone I have encountered both at the store and through their customer care number have been helpful, polite and accommodating. read more

I am completely mortified at how bad our experience has been with the Barrie location Ashley's! Six weeks ago I went with my mother, Marian Dawson (whom is 74 yrs old), while she bought a bed, high-end mattress and frame. We drove from Orillia to Barrie for this purchase. The salesman, Chris Stanich, assured us that delivery wasn't a problem as my mother drives a small Mazda 3. Several weeks later the mattress was the only item delivered. When my mother called to inquire where the frame was she was told it didn't arrive. She was then told they would call her when it arrived and she would have to come to Barrie and pick it up herself. Had she been given a choice before the mattress was delivered she would have had them wait until the entire bed was in to deliver. My mother has had two knee replacements and therefor wasn't able to use the mattress until there was a bed frame to put it on. When she voiced her concern about having to come and pick up the frame in her tiny car and reminded Chris that he had said delivery wouldn't be a problem, Chris (the same salesman), told her there was nothing he could do and she'd have to find a way to pick it up. Left with no other choice we borrowed a larger car and picked up the frame in Barrie. When we got it back to her house in Orillia and unpackaged it, half the frame was missing! My mother called Chris Stanich (salesman Ashley's Barrie location), he said that someone must have been missing this piece at the warehouse and to resolve someone else's issue, randomly taken it out of my mother's box! It's crazy to me that they would deliver an open box without checking it!? A couple weeks later the missing piece arrived at Ashley's. Again, he would NOT deliver this missing piece. The salesman has told my mother that she has to go back down and pick it up herself again! I'd also like to note that she paid the total amount on the first day when she ordered the bed. This is not acceptable. I have left a message myself at the Barrie location and I'm waiting for a response but I'm not too optimistic based on the conversations my mom has had with the store. When they guarantee delivery on the order, it means the whole order. Why should my mom have to drive down and pick up parts and pieces because they neglected to deliver the mattress and the frame in one run? The only acceptable response from Ashely's is that they agree to deliver the missing piece of the bed frame ASAP! read more

Frustrated, We bought a coffee table on Nov 24/18 from the Barrie Badboy Superstore during the Black Friday sale and were quite happy with the deal. On the sales agreement it showed an approximate delivery date of 3 weeks depending on weather. On leaving the store after paying in full the sales man said that he could not guaranty the 3 weeks due to the busy time of year.I asked if it would be there before New years and he felt that would not be a problem.I assumed it was only due to the delivery and not the manufacturing. It is now seven weeks later,January11/19. After a number of calls and much time spent on hold, and being told that they would call us,I again called 8 days back and was told 7-10 days for delivery, however, todays call gave the response that they couldn't give a date as they were backlogged! In calling the Manager at Badboy, he said he would put out an email to see where the table was at and let me know.I said I just wanted a refund as I had paid in full. I said I was not happy,and only wanted to be done with it.I was told that the agreement stated that ALL SALES ARE FINAL. The table purchased is a product of Ashley furniture which I believe is not far from the Badboy store so if only a matter of picking it up it would be no problem, so I guess it was not a product on Nov 24/18. when I paid in full for it yet is non refundable, go figure.(makes one wonder a bit about the original 3 weeks weather permitting stamp on the contract,(perhaps it should have read when they decide to build it we will come.) read more

Avoid this store at all costs. They will work hard to get the sale up front, but have no customer service skills to support you after the purchase is made. Purchased a couch, love seat, coffee table and end tables. The tables were on back order and we had to fight with them to get the couches delivered. Then when the tables arrived, the end tables were delivered out of box where everything else (including the matching coffee table) was boxed. The end tables were damaged and clearly someone else's returns. We had to wait for over two weeks to get replacements end tables sent. We provided clear instructions that the new tables needed to be in boxes. Guess what - 2nd set of tables delivered out of box with damages again; again trying to pass off someone else's returns. Phone the store at both instances, they say it's not our problem and to deal with someone in delivery. You have to fight with the staff to get through to the store manager Ryan. As the GM of the store, Ryan should set the example of what good customer service looks like. However, Ryan himself has a hard time returning promised phone calls or providing timely updates to resolve issues. I have even been told that running his sales floor was more important than returning customer calls. Currently have a call in with the Regional Manager, Anthony (416-509-1807) to try and get this resolved. As an organization, they seem to have a fundamental customer service gap. read more
