Two of us stopped at this store one evening with the purpose of shopping for furniture to be gifted to a parent and her child. Eventually we were greeted. We explained our mission and that we were on a budget. She told us to look around and if we saw anything of interest to let her know. We saw only one set. It was located at the far back of the store, positioned so you had to walk past all the more expensive displays both entering and leaving the store. All furniture pieces were ticketed with sale tags, but none stating the original price before pieces went on sale. I requested the original price information from the salesperson. She went back to the checkout area. We waiting on the showroom floor until it was obvious that she didn't intend to return (we watched her look in our direction every so often)so we left. The next evening we tried again. This time it was a male salesman. I asked him for the original price before the sale tag on the couch, chair, ottoman and coffee table. He said it is not Ashley's business model to discuss this, that they don't know the original price. I told him most people like to know they are getting a good deal for their money. He decided to debate. He was angry and I called him on it. They also charge $149 to deliver to a location three blocks away. He says they can charge that because it is a service.... I was kicked out of the store because I told them I had put up with their s*** for to evenings and it was a waste of my time. On the way out the salesman yelled, Have a nice day...ay in a perfect mocking tone. We took ourselves and our cash out and won't look back.....I would give less than a star if it was possible. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I needed a lift chair for my dad. I found one at the store and asked If I could buy it. They said that they couldn't. I asked them to see if there was a place in Minneapolis because my husband and son could pick it up and drive it up to GF. I waited patiently and had thanked her for trying to help out. She finally came back and said,"There is a district uti in center in Fridley." I asked what time it closed and she rolled her eyes at me and said, "I don't know 6-7." I looked at her and said thanks but you are rude and that we were done. If there is only one chair and 1 chair at the distribution center, why couldn't they just sell it and get that one for the floor model? We walked out and went to Home of Economy and bought a great chair and had EXCELLENT service. Shop local and you get what you pay for...good product and kindness. read more

The couches are complete GARBAGE. Whatever you do, do not buy the grey couch that is on the side of their delivery trucks. We were simply looking to spend our hard earned money on a good, or at least, decent couch. For our family, and no one will even sit on the couch because of how disgusting the fabric texture has become. We purchased their "warranty" as well. The couch has deteriorated before our eyes in less than a year. All they have done is say they will replace the cushions which is just replacing it with the same crappy fabric and will just happen again. read more

My Wife and I just moved to Grand Forks and we didn't have a bed, so we decided to just shop local and buy one. We decided to go to Ashley's, and the sales rep was very nice, but didn't seem to know much. We informed him that we bought a higher bedframe off the internet earlier, so we just needed a mattress. We bought a hybrid mattress and, upon is recommendation, a box spring with it. Now, as I have learned later, hybrids are actually not made for box springs, in fact, they can get damaged by them, neither was the box spring and actual box spring. It was a wooden frame with some cloth around it. No springs inside. Now mind you, we couldn't look at that detail in the store. We set up a pick up for later in the week, roughly five days later, on a friday. We got told that we will be getting a call if it gets there the day prior. Since the box spring didn't fit in our SUV, I had to rent a trailer, so I had to know before hand, but... no call on thursday. Neither on friday. I called them myself an hour before my trailer pick up date to confirm, and my items were there. Why they didn't call me? No real answer. When we picked up our items, the guys in the back that loaded the boxspring did not hand us back our reciet, as we noticed when we got home, and they were also pretty rough loading it. Now, as I mentioned earlier, our bed frame was pretty high to begin with, and with the box spring and the mattress, my wife couldn't even reach the bed. Thankfully I didn't remove the packaging yet, and I called them the next day to return it, and the person that I got hold off told us that we would be getting a call back from a manager. Of course, this call never came. I called them again two days later, and I got the same person again, and she just told us "No, sorry." and just ended the conversation right there. How I can't return a "box spring" that's still in OG packaging and never once used is beyond me, but I'm down $250 now. At least the mattress is nice, right? Well, it turned out it's damaged as well. The head end is sagging, which I thought would right itself, but it was still sagging days after. I'm 6 foot 4, laying on the mattress is causing me backpain. But, warranty, right? Well, I don't know since they seemed to have actually blocked my number, since It won't connect. I've talked to the online customer service, and they were really nice and told me they will call me and make it right ASAP. Guess what didn't come? The call. Since then I've tried everything to get a hold of them, short of just showing up in person, which my current work schedule won't allow. I'm pretty pissed that I'm down $750 because I trusted them and they won't even talk to me. Just take your money elsewhere and let this store go bankrupt. read more

The only reason I give one star is because I can't give a -5. These people are CROOKS!!!! We looked around and found a mattress for our grandson, my pregnant daughter climbed up on it and said this is good. I asked if we could just take this one, it was white and the salesman said no we have to order it, so we did. Picked it up today and it was NOT the same mattress at all, it was dark blue and not even near the same quality. When we went to show the person there the one it should have been it was gone, this is B. S. And this type of swindling will get a business in the long run. This I guarantee you, you have gotten your last nickel from me!!! I would never spend another penny in your place and urge everyone to stay away from you con-artist! this place doesn't even deserve one star, the amount of negative attitude i received from the employees here was enough to ruin anyone's day. i waited the allotted 2-5pm span for my delivery, only for them to arrive at 4:45pm WITHOUT my f***ing mattress (and mattress cover, but whatever) so they had to run back and grab it, problem solved by 5:30pm. the next day i went in to the store to retrieve the mattress cover.... and i'll leave it at that , worst experience ever. 0 stars, zero stars, that means none. xoxo one unhappy customer read more

Upon reading other reviews is seems Ashley Furniture in Grand Forks seems to have a history of delivering broken on incorrect items and then offering accepting their floor model as consolation. My experience is no different. I will never shop there again! I ordered a couch in spring and it arrived broken in early July. The bracket connecting the back to the seat was rattling around inside the back. I called and was told by my associate that it would be August before they could get the replacement part. I did not want to wait but didn't have much choice as everything was on back order due to the pandemic. Sept 9th the truck showed up to replace the broken piece, but the part wasn't on the truck. I called and was assured by the manager, Dustin, that it was no longer on back order and the correct would be in the following week. The next week came and went and again Dustin said, "he is very sorry, but they ordered the wrong piece again" for sure next week it will be there. Well, next week is today, and again "they ordered the incorrect piece" and I cannot get my correct piece until January. Dustin's suggestion was to replace my brand-new broken piece with their dirty floor model. Unacceptable! I cancelled my order for recliners that haven't been delivered yet and told them to come pick up their garbage couch from my house! read more

I am giving Ashley furniture a one star because I have waited 6 months and have yet to get my loveseat. In September when we purchased the couch and loveseat they said a delivery date for a week later. The delivery people came out and upon moving the loveseat into the house they damage the love seat I called the store and they told me they would order a new one and set a new delivery date. After multiple delivery dates and a couple no-shows on deliveries and calling the store and showing up in person to try and correct this issue we still do not have our loveseat and yet we are expected to pay for that every month. I have been told multiple times that the manager Dustin would call me to correct this issue and has yet to call and try to make this right. A real manager would never sit on a problem for six months if I would've known this is how the store treats their customers I would've spent all my money elsewhere. read more

Ashley's Furniture in Grand Forks has several negative reviews across the internet, and you can add this one to the list. I considered giving them one-star, but I did actually have a positive initial interaction with the sales team. My wife and I were in the market for a couch, more specifically a sectional. We found one that we both really enjoyed and purchased it in store. The buying experience was very pleasant, and Alex, our salesman was incredibly helpful. We agreed on a delivery date that was about 2 weeks out, and this was pretty important for us because we were moving shortly. Fast forward 2 weeks and I'm sitting around waiting for delivery during the predetermined time period (2-4pm). 4 pm rolls around and still no sectional. I call the store, and they tell me the delivery guys are running behind. A call would have been nice, but whatever. 'When are they coming?' Seems like a simple question. 'Sir, I don't know. I will call them and call you right back.' Well, 40 minutes goes by and I call again. I'm informed that they are on the way and that they will call me when they pull into my neighborhood. Okay... So far I've gotten zero phone calls or updates, so I'm not terribly inclined to believe this. 20 minutes later a truck pulls up (sans my twice promised phone call..) and a couple guys ask where I want my sofa/love seat combo. Sofa/love seat? Maybe they are confused. I purchased a sectional! 'Bring it upstairs. I want it in the living room'. Sure as you're reading this review they start bringing in a sofa and a love seat. A few (more) phone calls later I'm talking to the salesman who ordered the couches, instead of the sectional I paid for. He takes the blame for the error, which was good on him, but informs me that I really only have 3 options. 1- Keep the delivered items (I still don't want them) 2- Get a refund (this leaves me in a less than desirable position. Furniture costs quite a bit more where I am moving, and that takes this option off the table.) 3- I can take the floor model, and they can deliver it in 2 days between the hours of dawn and 'I hope you're ready to waste another day waiting for us to deliver your (maybe someone else's) stuff'. If I'm paying full price for an item then why are you offering me used furniture? You've already screwed up so badly that I've taken to the internet to share my experience and now you expect me to pay 'new' price for your showroom furniture that's been ridden by every person that's set foot in your store for the last 6 months? Ridiculous. Now, I can't tell you that your experience will bear any resemblance to what I've gone through, but really, why take the chance? Slumberland and Furniture Row are both a stone's throw away, so check then out instead. read more

my experience with ashley started out promising and took a turn for the worst very quickly...pretty much right after they got my money. they have some great furniture and the prices are not terrible. even the customer service while youre shopping is pretty good. the problem came after i found everything i wanted and paid for the order. suddenly nothing was in stock and it all had to be ordered. with multiple deliveries a week, they told me i would receive it in no time. they offered me a roll-away bed as a temporary solution to my lack of furniture. days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months. from the time i swiped my credit card to the time i received all my furniture was 9 weeks!!! at no point did they give me an honest answer. every time i spoke with someone i was assured it would be here in a couple days and every couple days it was another couple days. i would have been able to handle not getting anything if they could have at least been honest. i felt duped into a sale they knew they could not deliver on in a timely manner. read more

I wish negative stars was an option, or at least zero. My husband and I have spent A LOT of money at this store to furnish our home only to be disappointed time and again. After the first two times I said I'd never shop there again. Well, I found a good deal and went back (that's on me I guess). Looking back I would SO GLADLY spend an exponential extra amount if needed and go somewhere else. The first time I did an order pickup, we called to say we were coming and they said they'd have our couch ready...they didn't and then gave us the wrong ottoman for us to bring back, order the correct one, and pick up again. The second time we shopped there we bought a 4 piece bedroom set and a mattress which Ashley Furniture delivered to us. They delivered it damaged not once, not twice, but 4 times! The 4th time they requested that we just take a discount on the set. In addition, if you're waiting for your furniture to be delivered you can count on waiting around for them to show up. They didn't come the days they said they were going to and never showed up on time, on any of the four delivery occasions. Would you appreciate a phone call? Me too. But you won't get one, even if they decide not show up at all on the scheduled delivery day. The final time we shopped there we made a special order purchase, which typically is not refundable. However, the manager gave the associate permission to allow a refund if we didn't like it. Well, the set was not as described and had several manufacturer defects. We requested to return it as we were promised but they refused, even when we provided them with 2 voicemails proving that they offered to accept the return prior to making the purchase. We even had a service technician from Ashley Furniture come out and look at the furniture and he agreed that there were obvious defects and said there should be no issue getting it refunded or replaced but the manager claims that the service tech denied that there was anything wrong with the set (again, I have our conversation with the service tech recorded and shared it with the manager). Think you're going to get help from the regional manager? NOPE! He "stands by whatever his store managers decide". Customer service? Definitely NOT! They can't do anything to help you, "it's up to the store manager". Now I'm stuck with $5000 defective set. Do yourself a favor and go to Conlins in Grand Forks and work with Sarah S., we've never had anything but excellent service there. She can get you anything Ashley Furniture sells.
