A wonderful, small business with a huge heart. Not your average flower shop. Don't be surprised when you walk in and you see a tortoise cross your path. Alison, the owner, is very involved with animal rehabilitation. Be sure to check out her shop next door, The Thrift Shop - Pandemonium Rainforest Project. Proceeds from the sales go toward the rehabilitation of animals. Besides the amazing fresh flowers, the store also has a unique selection of cards, jewelry & antiques. This is a one stop shop for birthdays, anniversaries and more. My mother had a special request for a flower order, that Alison taken a mental note of and delivered as promised. I love sending flowers to friends on the opening night of their shows. I had a friend opening in a show at Goodspeed Opera House. Understand, when I send flowers I like to have a "theme" befitting either the show itself or my friend's character in the show. In this case, the show was "Summer Stock" - about a troupe of actors rehearsing a new show on a farm. I contacted Ashleigh's (they had done a wonderful job back before Covid). I talked with a lovely designer, Jess, and told her that I wanted an arrangement that would suggest rural/country while keeping floral integrity. Jess and the designers came up with a lovely combination of sunflowers mixed with other wildflowers and then arranged everything in an artistic container reminiscent of a milk bucket - further befitting the overall theme. Very happy with everything and definitely going to Ashleigh's whenever friends appear at Goodspeed (and I have many talented actor friends). read more

Allison and her team were phenomenal! The pre-planning process was very easy going and there was a constant stream of free-flowing collaboration discussing ideas and color schemes. The team was diligent and executed our vision perfectly. We fully trusted them to pick which types of flowers and blooms to fit our special day. We told them what color palate and let them run with the creation, design and execution of the flowers for our wedding and their taste was impeccable. The delivery the day of the wedding was spot on without any issues. Alison did the most fantastic job on my engagement party! My bonus-mom is a very creative and thoughtful woman, and Alison complemented her style for a seamless execution of a winter forest theme in October. There were birch tree place holders, pine boughs running down the center of our tables on top of green linens and burlap runners. The napkins holders were hand-twisted saplings still wick. She made signs with our names out of driftwood pine, and hung them on our chairs with eucalyptus branches and white ribbons. There were Christmas trees with sparkling white lights. She arranged for a friend of hers to make us a wooden knife to cut a three foot long yule log, and engraved our names and our wedding date on the handle. Absolutely stunning presentation, she went above and beyond for us. The day of the party, the manager of the venue was a little salty that Alison wasn't there four hours beforehand. Bonus-mom said that she's an artist and didn't need four hours to decorate, that because she's an artist these compositions just fly out of her hands. They really do. But you do have to be patient with artists, they're on a different rhythm than people. Best part was the next day. Our party went pretty late into the evening; Alison didn't come until the next day to clean. When she did, she cleaned everything up so well that the chef and club manager remarked about how well she took care of everything. Not a needle to be seen (because yes, she did arrange for spruces to be cut specially for the occassion)! It looked like the Best of Pinterest came to celebrate our engagement last night, and it brought me to tears. Thank you, sincerely. read more

I've met my match in Alison Sloane. She's as opinionated as I am. Considering Baby's Breath? Go elsewhere. And she counsels her brides that a centerpiece shouldn't have to cost more than $50. She's the Shoreline's only greenflorist: her roses are sustainably farmed, using insects instead of pesticides to produce perfect blooms. With two degrees in fine art and a background in Dutch floral design (no foam for her), her full-blown arrangements are masterful. Word of mouth and a hopeless devotion to her brides keeps her wedding business booked well in advance. But flowers are not the only reason to pay Ashleigh's a visit. A roomful of laugh-out-loud greeting cards, a small but interesting selection of antiques and, as far as I know, the ONLY place to find Harbor Sweets fantastic chocolates from Salem, MA. Alison recues parrots, too, and twenty or so provide some amusing background chirping to your flower browsing. This place is worth a visit. read more

Somewhere between 3-4 stars. They did the floral for my recent wedding and came through with some beautiful centerpieces, bouquets, and corsages. The communication throughout the process left a huge question mark in my planning and required a LOT of blind faith that they would deliver come the big day. My new sister-in-law used them a few years back for their wedding and had a very similar experience with Allison but encouraged me to trust that she'd pull through and she did. I understand that they are busy with events but any response is better than no response... An email reply saying "I can't respond right now" is better than crickets chirping. We had the floral arrangements for my mother's 80th birthday party done by Ashleigh's Garden. Karen was great. I showed her pictures of what I wanted and we discussed options. We used old teacups stacked on top of books for each table centerpiece. Then for the cake table we had an arrangement in a teapot. The end result was gorgeous. Our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful they were. Cottage roses, tulips, and all sorts of little greens. I cannot sing their praises enough. Allison was wonderful to work with. She was prompt in meeting with us and spent time to understand our vision. We got a test centerpiece and the colors were a bit off. I emailed her and sent a couple more pictures and she was flexible and understanding. I also threw her another curve ball when my mom's hydrangea bush mysteriously bloomed one single bloom the week before the wedding. I called and asked if it could be incorporated into my bouquet and Allison was very accommodating and so excited that I could have that sentiment for the big day (even though it was 2 days before the wedding!). Last year we were suppose to get married but had to cancel 4 days before the date due to my husband getting injured at work. We just got married on Friday and everyone was blown away on the quality on our flowers. Not only were they amazing, the staff is very friendly. I ordered the deluxe arrangement of Mother's Day flowers online for my mom. I know this is an extremely busy holiday but I was very disappointed. While the flowers themselves were pretty the arrangement was, to say the least, sparse. I might have given another star but I e-mailed the shop and never heard a word. The flowers that Allison and her team did for our wedding were beautiful. Allison understood exactly what we were looking for and did a great job executing it. We got a lot of compliments from people who attended saying how much they loved them. My only complaint, which other people have mentioned in their reviews, was a lack of communication. I didn't make a lot of changes to what we originally agreed upon, but when I did email Allison to a question it would take a while to get a response back. That is why I can't give 5 stars. I hired Allison as my florist for my wedding last year. I immediately fell in love with her, her creativity and enthusiasm. I trusted her and felt comfortable with letting her lead the way. I gave her pictures of what I had wanted. She showed me a quick layout and told me everything was possible. She sent an email of round about prices. EVerythjng seemed reasonable and I was very excited to work with her. The week before the wedding she FINALLY gave me my quote!! It was triple what I had thought. She added more flower boxes on each table than what we had discussed. When I asked her to change it she said that she couldn't because they were already ordered. I was backed into a corner. Come the day of... I was missing my MAIN FLOWER. The colors were not what I wanted. She also charged me for items that she never gave me. Did the flowers look good? Yes they were pretty. But it was NOT what I paid for (in cash BTW) and not what I had wanted. A year later and I am still very disappointed. She knew how upset I was and never acknowledged that. read more
