Never go back!!! Was looking for bulk pipe tobacco, latakia and cavendish. They had zero selection of pipe tobacco except for two 1.5 oz pouches of Captain Black. So I bought them. Bad assumptions reek havoc with results. 3.0 oz for $43.30. Assumed they would be 6-7 dollars a pouch and would tide me over. Didn't look at total just swiped my credit card. Searched the web and found the highest cost of same tobacco was just shy of $10.00 per pouch. My bad for not being more vigilant. I was ripped off! Re-learned a valuable lesson. If I ever am out and about and see that squirrelly little guy I will not greet him in an hospitable manner. I blame myself, but it is still annoying that such rip-offs so frequently occur. read more

Btw for all the minors who ashes has sold to for years, they will turn you away now. pretty sad that for 5 years you have based your clientele almost strictly towards minors, and now you want to switch up. hope you get shut down, theres camera proof of minors buying weed here for YEARS with absolutely no ID being checked ever. read more

They had everything I wanted. Everyone was alsos uper helpful. Jake was great, and found him to be a huge service to me. The selection was great and things were well rpiced. Loved the experience at a first time customer, and will come back read more

This smoke shop is outrageously overpriced. They charged almost $100 for 3 OZ of kratom. That is more than quadruple the price of anywhere else I've ever bought Kratom. I bought it anyway, since I was short on time and hoping it's the best quality kratom I've ever tried. But nope, there was no difference between their overpriced stuff and the cheap sh*t I'll buy from the sketchy gas station for $10. I was highly disappointed and will never return back to this smoke shop. read more

Ashes Smoke Shop - 46 grams = ~1.6 oz. This was $50!!!! - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Denton, Texas

The prices here are meant for kids with daddies card. Not the best selection around (Smoke N Chill #7 is the best) & the staff has an attitude a majority of the time. read more

Best smoke shop in Denton! 4/20 fest gets better every year!!! Buy from them every time I run out of papers or break my glass.. Prices aren't the best in town but the staff is makes every purchase worth it! read more

Dopest smoke shop in DFW. Get me right everytime i come in and always have the coolest pieces and people

Overpriced hype store meant for hipsters. The owner & his wife are cool people but other than that. The store needs to be more reasonable.

I've been going here for a year. I get ID, nothing unusual, but what I didn't appreciate this experience was the customer service. I had a valid ID, and was told, "yeah thats not going to work." I read the ID to the guy behind the register he continued to tell me, that it wasn't going to work because my sex is different than my gender identity on the ID. read more

Staff is always helpful and so nice. The employees are great at informing you about any product, from papers to glass, to anything. They recommend great product as well! I love the art that decorates the shop, and I also love the dogs that hangout there, they're the best greeters. Hands down the most unique smoke shop in Denton. Bomb ass store 10/10 would recommend. read more

Staff was amazing! Tiffany was the best and gave me so much information I needed! Plus the dogs were the best soon as you walk in your greeted with puppy love! Support local businesses! read more

Asked for a concentrate device. I wanted the best device they recommend. They sold me a hitoki laser device, it's for herb. Waste of money for me. Not what I asked for at all. read more

Amazing place. Family owned business with the best staff. They greet you and take care of you the moment you arrive. Prices are fair, especially compared to other shops. Great selection and experience for such a small local business. They definitely have my business, #1 Smoke Shop in the area. read more

amazing just wow. jake is just amazing!! he was so funny and helpful!!! the place is awesome

Alyssa and Taylor are my GIRLS. Alyssa is incredibly knowledgeable on products and was able to help find us a cleaning substitute for our pieces since we haven't been able to find rubbing alcohol and taylor helped us find the right size turp ball!! So glad I have this place during the pandemic. read more

Terrible management, and atmosphere. Went on there a couple months ago and got laughed at for wearing a mask and was belittled for it.

The staff here is absolutely wonderful! Very knowledgeable and always approachable. I refuse to give my business to any other shop. Every single time I've gone in, a brunette girl (I've never caught her name, my fault) has helped me and she's phenomenal. Prices are great, everything is high quality, and they have a little bit of everything-- Ashes in unbeatable and you'd be crazy to go anywhere else! read more

This was one of the most reasonably priced smoke shops that I have been to. Most of the things that were being sold were sold at what you'd pay if you ordered them online, without paying for shipping (they don't jack up the prices). There was SO MUCH stuff, the staff was very nice, and it is a smoke shop I would return to. read more

We went on Saturday night from around 11:30pm to 2am and it was a pretty good experience over-all. I'd go as far to say that it's my favorite hookah place in town, though there are a few I haven't been to yet. (We usually just hookah at home.) Four of us shared the Starbuzz Caramel Apple shisha with an apple bowl. It lasted us the full time we were there without it ever getting the slightest bit burnt or getting weak. The temperature was perfect, the air seemed nicely circulated, and there weren't any drafts to ruin smoke rings. They were a little slow getting the hookah out even though there were only about two other groups there, but our guy apologized for it as soon as he brought it over. Everyone there was very nice, the atmosphere was very relaxed, and the seating was comfy. They play better music than all the other local places we've been to and it wasn't filled with young kids. Ashes is a bit pricey, but well worth it. Here's more detailed stuff based on when we visited (remember, they could change any of this info as they see fit): "Traditional Sheeshas" (how they spelled shisha) are Al-Nakhla, Al Waha, and Al Fakhir. These were $10.99 to smoke there and $6.99 to refill. "Social Sheesha" is Social Smoke and seems to be their brand of choice. It was $13.99 and $7.99 to refill. "Exotic Sheesha" is Starbuzz and the only brand I smoke. It was $17.99 and $8.99 to refill. They also had "Exquistic (Exquisite??) Guest's Mix" which were mixed shisha flavors using Social Smoke's shisha. It was $17.99 and $8.99 to refill. They have a big list of things you can add to the base for $4.99 which included apple juice, orange juice, lemonade, strawberry, skittles (candy), coke, and milk. You can also substitute fruit for the ceramic bowl for $4.99. To my surprise, they had quite a few options - apple, orange, cantaloupe, peach, and for $5.99 they had pineapple. Three people are allowed to a hookah, but you can pay $3.99 extra to add a person to that. You can also pay $2.99 to get a double hose hookah instead of the regular single hosed ones. Some music they played while we were there: reggae, alternative, Hendrix cover, Led Zeplin, Cake, The Police, video game style music, "Crimson and Clover," "Closing Time," "Stairway to Heaven." They had sports on the TVs, but it wasn't distracting or annoying even though I don't like sports. The sound was off, so it was just sorta there. I approved. On their Yelp page (you know, here) they said they had appetizers, deserts, and hot drinks, but when we were there they didn't have any or didn't advertise it in any way. A friend asked if they had hot tea and our guy said they didn't. read more

I've been coming here for awhile now, best smoke shop in Denton, best prices, best staff, best selection. I can not even count how many times I've left this place happy as a lark WITHOUT EVEN BUYING ANYTHING. It doesn't matter if you drop 1 dollar at this place, or 100 dollars, they treat you the same and they STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS! I once watched JC, the owner take a return for somebody who BROKE THEIR PIPE BY DROPPING IT. Because they had just left the shop with it. I also have seen them take care of many customers, in a timely and polite fashion. Want to be treated like crap? Go to any other smoke shop in Denton. Want to make friends you'll have for years to come ? Want to have a kick ass time while looking for your glass? Want to have the feeling of a home away from home ? Go to ASHES, and look no further. read more

This place was tucked away in a little shopping complex. Parking lot sucked but once we were inside the workers were so helpful. Cat helped me through all the pieces they had and explained to me some of the pros and cons to some pieces. She was very knowledgable and showed me pieces I would be scared to even pick up. Would definitely come back to check out more pieces read more

Ashes Smoke Shop - New piece. Changes color - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Denton, Texas

This is nice little shop in Denton. They have a bit of everything you could need. The staff was extremely helpful & good advice. There are not many places that make you feel good about doing business with them. This place does. Highly recommend stopping in. Not sure if it is coincidental but their street number is 420. read more

I totally get that this smoke shop is located in a college town but it is way over priced. Disposable vapes are 10-15 more than they would be in the dallas or frisco area. I assume that's because they illegally sell to minors so they think they can up charge the pricing for everyone. I use to be a frequent customer because of the great customer service and it's a quick drive after leaving campus when I was in need of a vape. I am disappointed though lately and quite angry at the employees that were recently hired. I came in last week wanting a delta 8 and was lied to by the employee. I was looking for something to help me get off the real stuff and potentially pass drug tests. Although i know that delta 8 will not pass drug tests I was told by there dumb employee that THC o is known to help pass drug tests. First of all how stupid do you think I am to not be smart enough to look it up right then and there. for those who may be reading this THC is stronger than delta 8. Terrible customer service for an employee to lie or not understand what they are selling. Never shopping there again. If i were anyone else I would shop at Mad Labs in denton where they have reliable and good customer service. read more

I love this smoke shop , there always nice and greeted us , always very helpful I do recommend this place

Ashes is the best smoke shop in town, hands down. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and their selection is pretty great. Their prices are usually better than other places in town. I will only give my business to Ashes, and you should seriously consider doing the same. They deserve it! read more

So a friend and I went in to buy a new piece. The lady working was real nice and helpful the entire time we were in there so great job on that. We got back to the house to admire the recently acquired art only to discover it was cracked. We didn't notice it until we got home, so I'm not expecting an exchange or anything. Just disappointed with the poor QC. read more

Nice place and the gal was really nice...not a good cigar place...$10 punch was dried out...

Best smoke shop in Denton hands down! Super friendly service and extremely helpful. This will be my go to place now..

Customer service is a lost concept today in most retail businesses. I would not have expected to find the exception to that rule in a smoke shop - but I did! These guys are GOLDEN! Very friendly, very knowledgeable, and extremely professional! They impressed me so thoroughly, that I waited a few days until they received a product I wanted, even though I could have found it elsewhere that day. I've hired and fired a lot of folks in more than 30 years in retail, and I would hire everyone of these guys. They're really that good. Tired of going to your old smoke shop and all the guy behind the counter can say is: 'duuuude'-? Try Ashes - you'll be pleasantly surprised. ATTN: Mr. Boss/Owner: Your staff deserves a raise! They're fantastic! (no, I don't work there, I assure you). read more

I love going to Ashes, even if it's just to see what new glass they have in. The staff really values customer service and always does their best to make sure you get something you'll love. There's usually at least one dog there which is always a huge plus. Best quality glass in Denton. Great selection, good prices. I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Great place to go get a Hookah, I didnt mind the drive from Arlington. Went there on a friends advice.
