I had done day-of-coordinating for a few weddings and Ash+Oak caught my eye at one of the weddings I worked. Since the wedding I kept thinking about their flower arrangements. When it was my turn to get married, I asked for a quote but couldn't get myself to spend thousands of dollars on flowers, so I ended up using another florist for my COVID wedding ceremony. Almost a year later we had our delayed wedding reception and after planning one wedding, I decided to spend money the second time around on things I loved - the top being flowers. I hired Ash + Oak this time and I was SO PLEASED. Not only did they provide beautiful flowers for us on our wedding day, but they were also extremely professional leaving me with little to worry about outside of telling them the color scheme I preferred. They worked with my day-of-coordinator for arrival time and when I arrived at my reception, all the flowers were in place. I had seen many photos, so I trusted their design and gave them little instruction. I asked them for a summery feel with a romantic color pallet with blush, mauve, accents of yellow/blue and they delivered! I couldn't stop staring at the wedding bouquet when we were taking photos!! Purchased a bouquet for Valentine's Day around 2pm. First time asking for an arrangement based on a dollar amount, so I thought $30 would be sufficient for something small and nice. What I ended up with was not only very disappointing, but I also got charged $35 + tax. I had requested roses and tulips, but at the time, roses were all out. However, what I didn't know, and was failed to have been told, was that a fresh batch of flowers would be delivered half hour later. Anyway, my arrangement was not only mostly greens (leaves and such), but the flowers were not very fresh. I'm partly to blame for falling trap to the surge pricing of Valentine's Day, but this review is to inform those who are more price sensitive to avoid this place. FYI, I also waited around for about 15min with no one to offer to help me, and ended up finally getting help after confronting one of the employees. My sister ordered her wedding flowers from Ash + Oak, and they were GORGEOUS! Pros: the flower bouquets were absolutely exquisite, they were exactly what my sister wanted. The flower bouquets were whimsical, romantic, and as if directly from a field of wildflowers. The specific flower choices complemented our bridal party colors perfectly. All bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, etc. were all different from each other, but perfectly styled. Anyway, they were beautiful. Cons: it pains me to even list these because the flowers were just so beautiful, but integrity is my Yelp middle name. The bouquets began to fall apart by the end of the day, with flowers and stems slipping out, my mom's succulent corsage and multiple boutonnieres fell apart by the end of the day. Additionally, there was an extra sponsor bracelet and one of the father's boutonnieres was incorrect. Even with those hiccups, the flowers were so beautiful I would still recommend them!! read more

I came to Ash + Oak for a very special flower arrangement, my mother's 55th birthday. I've often sent flowers from some of the popular online "flower shops," and although it's the thought that counts, I was never really pleased with the basic cookie cutter designs to choose from. Often the designs looked out dated, redundant and no representation of who I am or the recipient. For this occasion I knew I had to make it special, unique and thoughtful. Because of my busy work schedule I prefer being contacted via text or email and Ashley was fine with that, so over text message I explained to Ashley what colors and styles my mom liked and the price range to work with. My flower knowledge goes from roses to daisies and that's pretty much it, so it was nice to stray away from that and create something truly spectacular. Ashley then took it from there and created a beautiful one-of-a-kind arrangement for my mom and even texted me pictures of it prior to delivery. Ashley delivered the arrangement in San Francisco on-time, before my mom went to lunch, as requested. She even chatted with my mom wishing her a happy birthday. My mom invited Ashley in to see her office and a picture of me. The extra attention given to my mom didn't go unnoticed because often in the past, deliveries would be left at the front desk giving a feeling of abandonment. Somewhere in our conversation I had mentioned to Ashley that my mom commutes, so in addition, Ashley brought a special wood box for my mom to take her arrangement home with her without jeopardizing the arrangement during her commute. Talk about going above and beyond! Shortly after the delivery I received a phone call from my mom raving about the arrangement and the experience. We worked with Ash + OAK on the floral arrangements for our small (~40 person) wedding in San Francisco in October 2015. They did a great job on the arrangements, and delivered everything on time and as we had discussed, and were able to personally install our large garland which was very helpful. We appreciated that they took an hour to meet with us months before our wedding at the SF Flower Market to hear our preferences and suggest ideas about arrangements. However they missed or forgot about our second scheduled meeting by phone so we had some difficulty getting in touch with them closer to our wedding date. Also, before we gave our initial deposit we were expecting a written contract to outline contingencies and liability, etc. (which we got from most other wedding vendors) but had to specifically request this from Ash + OAK which was surprising, so we would have appreciated them being a bit more proactive on that front, as some areas for improvement. Ash + OAK came recommended by another florist when other florist was already booked for my wedding date. What a great stroke of luck for me! I am totally pleased with the work Ash + OAK did for my wedding. From the bold protea in my bouquet to accommodating requests for specific flowers to be used (succulents, ranunculus and a few others). Ashley is responsive, has fair prices and is generally pleasant to speak with; she has solid customer service. She is also creative and able to take ideas from your Pinterest board and a bit of direction from the bride and groom in terms of likes and dislikes, and then she can run with it. Other florist I'd spoken to wanted me to spoon-feed them every detail of what I wanted, but I didn't have a complete vision of what I wanted and I am not the flower expert. Ashley took the pins, the flowers I like and don't like and the floral pieces I was looking for and made it a beautiful reality. We had several sizes of bouquets from bride to maids to mothers (8 total), a few styles of boutonnieres (10 total), garlands of greenery accented with flowers and succulents down the middle of 13 long, farmhouse style dining table (no tablecloths or large centerpieces so this was the main table decor with candles in hurricanes), and a large decorative floral piece with lots of greenery draping the arbor under which we stood for the wedding ceremony. She was even able to whip up a small hair comb of a few little flowers and succulents for me the week of the wedding. I would highly recommend using Ash + OAK for a wedding. If they can do weddings, then I am sure they can do just about anything else you have in mind. read more
