Very nice pottery studio which is owner occupied and operated. I purchased a toothbrush holder and a very nice plant pot that was in the "seconds" bin but was fine for me. It was reasonably priced and I was glad to find one here as I had been unable to find one at other pottery studios. My plant looks great in the new pot(pic). The owner is very friendly and if I get back up that way i'd stop in again. read more

This is a small pottery shop in the entryway of the owner's basement. She has a large workroom next door. She was very friendly and gave us lots of suggestions for places to go in the area. We didn't see any unique pieces that we just had to have. If you're looking for plates or mugs it's great. Neat to see a local putting her skill to work. read more

History

Established in 1985.

DownEast Magazine named our mug as the "Best Handcrafted MUG" in Maine for 2010. Susan designed and built the studio in Harpswell, Maine that year and joined forces with Gail in 1986. We have over 60 years of experience between us and we both throw and glaze our own pots and fire our own gas kiln - about once a month....depending on the weather. We do all the work ourselves and like to get to know all the folks that come to our studio to buy our pots, some families have been coming for generations. Our 12 yr old dog, Stanley, happily greets customers and waits for a bit of affection. Winters can be kind of tough for loading, firing and unloading pottery out in the kiln shed, so we busy ourselves with other tasks that we don't have time for when the weather improves. The studio is heated by wood in the winter and has a southern exposure and a panoramic view of Eagle Island and the islands in Casco Bay. We are open every day.
