I ordered an item on-line and went to Lowe's Ogdensburg (2001 Ford Street Extension, Ogdensburg,…read moreNY) after receiving a notice that the item was ready for pick-up. My wife and I did some in-store shopping after getting our pre-ordered items from Lowe's self pick-up area. Staff in the store constantly watched me and my wife and aggressively made their presence known to us. (How often are you in large stores when you can't easily find an employee to help you?) Staff at Lowe's Ogdensburg were hovering around us during the entire time we were in this store. From a distance, one employee would yell, "Can I help you?" A few minutes later this annoying behaviour was repeated by another employee, one after the other, with about a total of five staff members watching us and behaving inappropriately. Soon it was obvious store staff weren't interested in helping us, but rather were watching our every move as we looked at different products in their store. It was more than just annoying; staff was being disruptive to our browsing and making it obvious that they were watching us. A male employee came over to us with a fake smile on his face. Soon as this employee got my attention he aggressively demanded to know where I had parked my car. This male employee asked me the make and colour of my vehicle and where we lived. Next, he demanded to know where I had parked my vehicle while stating, "I want to make sure that it's not parked somewhere it shouldn't be." This employee wouldn't leave until I told him and then he immediately departed the store looking for my car in the parking lot. Lowe's was almost devoid of customers, so I'm sure that finding my vehicle in the parking lot wasn't difficult. A short while later this same male employee comes back and states to me, "It's not your vehicle. I found the car and it doesn't belong to you". When I simply shook my head in disgust he added, "Where it's parked is okay!" He didn't want to believe that this expensive late-modeled car belonged to me. I had chosen about $100.00 worth of products to buy and placed everything on the counter. At the cash register a female employee loudly demanded, "You have to pay for everything." Next this rude female employee demanded I show her my driver's license before she would scan the products I was buying. The cashier defiantly said, "I want to know who you are." This cashier again very loudly stated, "You have to pay for everything." I was wearing shorts with empty pockets and a t-shirt. Also, I wasn't carrying any bags. Just what did she think I was trying to swipe, a wooden toothpick? While I realize theft is a problem in many stores, I don't steal. Why I was targeted for this type of abuse from staff at Lowe's is beyond me. I'm honest and only wanted to buy a few needed items, not sold at their stores in Canada. Given what occurred I won't be ever going back to Lowe's in Ogdensburg or anywhere else in the USA. Lowe's you have now lost a Canadian customer forever.

In the past 8 months, I've made 50 phone calls to Lowe's, but the windows have not been done. They are intentionally dragging their feet, hoping I will give up.

TL;DR/The Short Version: Greenhouse that sells plants in…read moreNavan. Prices are lower than other speciality plant shops and they have rarer/less common species. The Long Version: I'm late to the plant party, but I recently started getting into plants. I look for low maintenance plants that thrive on neglect, lol. I started with air plants, which I bought at Wild Willy's, which is near my house. There I saw these strange plants called Living Stones/Lithops. I had never seen these before and they fascinated me. I decided to do more research on them. I discovered that during the Winter and Summer they only need to be watered once or not at all the entire season. And in the Spring and Fall they only need watering once every month or two. That is super low maintenance! I was talking to one of my coworkers about them and she said she saw them at Robert Plante and she was going that weekend. After a few texts and photos back and forth, she picked one up for me. I was thrilled to pay only $12.99 for them instead of $18 which was the price at Wild Willy's. The Lithops are cool and unusual and I love them. I decided to go to the store myself to poke around. Navan is a bit of a hike for me, but it's not far from Orleans, where my parents live, so when I was out there visiting my parents, I asked my mom if she wanted to go look at some plants and she did, and one of my nieces also wanted to join. So off we went. The place is huge. So many plants! I loved just looking around. They had succulents (my favourite type of plant), cacti, air plants, regular leafy plants (lol, I know that's not the proper term, but y'all know what I'm talking about), and even carnivorous plants. They had plants of all sizes from tiny to huge. They had olive trees and kumquat trees and so much more. I ended up getting more Lithops because I found some red/orange ones. They were in a smaller pot and only $6.99. I also got an air plant for $4.99. My mom also got an air plant. Hers was a bit bigger so it was $5.99. And she got a succulent that looks like a rose for $6.99. There's a little food truck inside the greenhouse that sells coffee and other drinks and also hotdogs, sandwiches and snacks. I got my niece some ice cream from the food truck, which is called the YOLO Coffee Truck. I'll write a separate review for the food truck. Staff were pleasant. I needed help finding some Haworthia Cooperi, a plant I really wanted to get and staff were able to take me to them. Unfortunately they only had the pointy leaf variety and I was looking for the rounded leaf variety :( I had such a good time at the greenhouse even though I didn't get a Haworthia Cooperi like planned. Lots of free parking in their private parking lot. Review #58 (2025)

Or a tote celebrating Montreal bagels? How about stickers of characters from the show Degrassi High? Or a mug that expresses your love for the Ottawa neighbourhood of Hintonburg? Maker House has all these items! I love all the quirky Canadian pop culture items they carry! The store isn't just about kitsch though, they have products from all over Canada, like Maritime Madness hot sauce, made in PEI (and is the best hot sauce I've ever had). They have chocolates, teas, drinks and other food items too. Really fun store to poke around. I'd recommend coming here to get a true souvenir from Canada, instead of getting something that happens to have the Canadian flag or the word Canada on it but is actually made in China :/ Street parking only. I'm addressing my disappointing experience shopping on their website. I am a tea lover and love…read morecollecting limited edition tins as welll. The website shown a lavenderish pink tin but when I ordered two of them, it came in white regular Sloan tins. The store should update the photo of the item, instead of misleading the online customers into buying and thinking that's what they'll get. I get this feeling that the store purposely do this in order to get rid of their last stock. Because after I bought the two tins, the item is now out of stock. I might be wrong, but if that's what it is, what a shame way of doing the little business that seems proud of their way giving back to community. Before I made my order, I knew this is a little store and I read their return policy. I write to the store regarding this issue, but I never get any reply. I don't think a simple apologize is too much to ask. Is this because your online customer less important than your local customers? Is it because this issue too small to deal with? I had much better experience shopping from much smaller stores and their professionalism is top notch compared to this. As customers, we shouldn't get less treatment regardless the item/the amount we buy. I'm very disappointed!!! I don't recommend shopping online from this store.
