I cut myself everyday because I am so in love with Asda's prices. Every time I need tobacco for smoking legal highs, I'm off my feet and running down there with my Nan. I need a cheap pie to satisfy my hunger? Smart price has got me. But if there is one thing about this store that sates my appetite, it's the Rowe's pasties. That stuff is the key cause of my addiction (besides the guy who tries to sell me Durex in the trolley lane). This is a very good supermarket and you can find pretty much everything you could want in there, from books and magazines, through toys to CD and DVDs, pet food and clothes. Plus you can buy food there too! One handy feature of the store is the photography counter where you can get your photos printed for a very reasonable price especially if you bring them in in bulk. The staff have always been very helpful if I've had a problem plus if you get there late on a Saturday on occasion they hand out flowers that have sell-by dates on - a great way to cheer up customers!! read more

Ok so this is our half of the Walmart/Asda merger but we are sure getting the thin end of the wedge, unless you have been lucky enough like me to shop stateside then you wont know what your missing, sure the store is good by uk standards but product lines are sadly lacking compared to the huge range available in the Walmart stores,and don't get me started on car parking sizes! please we do not all drive tiny cars! read more

I really do like this supermarket! All the staff here I have found friendly and helpful, on the rare occasion that I have had to return something they have done so without any fuss and in a friendly way. Its a clean well stocked shop, and what I love is the way you can get everything from clothes to dog food, and of course my kids love the toy aisle! The best thing about this Asda though is this year they had a box with a big Father Christmas next to it, the box was for kids to post letters to Father Christmas in, and my boys did it and a few days later there waiting for them in store was a Christmas card from 'Father Christmas and it was a personl handwritten card which referred to stuff they had put in their letterI was so impressed that they took time to write to each individual card and there were tonnes of cards there when we collected ours! So impressed with the staff and they thought they put into things :), they really made my little boys' month and the card has pride of place on the mantlepiece where he took everyone elses down so he could see it more easily lol. read more

This is my favourite asda. it is so big it sells more items than any asda i have ever visited. there is such a widw variety of everything its orth a visit even if you are not local. the clothing section is huge and the clothing a better variety than anywhere else. read more

Asda has become the new Pound Shop on the High Street. Poor quality, appalling staff attitudes Very disappointing

Some of the staff at Asda St Austell are definitely NOT "happy to help" ! I asked one assistant who was stocking the freezer section if they sold frozen croissants and she replied " I don't know its not my section" and carried on with her stocking up, she conveniently had her name badge covered up by her well placed pony tail dragged to one side covering it. I asked another assistant stocking the baby isle where the potty and pushchairs were as I couldn't see them due to the large crate covering that particular section that she was using. She pointed to a potty on a low shelf and then when I could not reach pulled the crate and pointed to a potty, I was waiting for her to tell me where the pushchairs where when she bent down, plopped a potty on the floor in front of me and said "there's the potty" in a blunt manner and then turned and carried on, when I did not move she turned and looked at me - I said " oh thank you but I am actually waiting for you to answer my question, the assistant looked blank so I repeated that I had also asked where the pushchairs were !!????, the assistant was sullen and not helpful at all. I have never experienced this level of very low customer service in any other Asda I have visited , usually the staff reflect their slogan " happy to help" read more

I went to the store today to purchase a patio set that I had seen in a national paper advertised for £78. Seeing the pack was too heavy for me to get back to the car on my own I went to the customer services desk to tell them I wanted to buy the pack and get some assistance. After a wait a young lad went out to the packs with me and confirmed which one I wanted and announced that the pack price was £99. I begged to differ. telling him about the ad that had got me interested in the first place. He told me that there were lots of different packs and insulted my intelligence by suggesting that the one I wanted wasn't the one advertised. He then further insulted my intelligence by suggesting that the ad might have been for "selected retailers only". I did no more than returned home (a real chore on a Friday afternoon), got the ad and returned to the store where I found the young lad. I showed him the ad which he went over with a fine toothed comb, presumably looking for a get-out clause. He then said he would have to see the store manager. He got uppity when I insisted that I kept hold of the ad and bring the manager to me. Eventually the manager showed up with what I assume was an assistant, he also went through the ad carefully and then they had a conflab about which patio sets were where. He eventually went out to the pack in question and scanned the bar code on it. He announced that I was right, the pallet of packs was marked up wrongly and gave me an extremely curt apology, even though I told him that I had had to make two trips to the store, the second time with the ad. Another young lad grabbed the pack to take it into the store for me to pay for it and then I had to queue for ages for the privilege of buying it. What a waste of an afternoon. Customer service? They do not know the meaning of the term. read more
