Can't believe I'm actually reviewing a supermarket, but given that I visit here a fair amount and…read morenobody else has so far reviewed it, I thought I might as well! (Gotta love them firsts, right?) As Tescos go, this one's actually quite good! It's pretty massive, spread out over 2 floors and pretty much has everything you could ever need. I say pretty much, because the clothing/accessories etc. range isn't that great - I was looking for a beach bag for my holidays and they barely had any of the ones I'd seen online. Their clothing bit definitely seems smaller than other stores I've been in but hey, at least they have one. The only other downside is the layout as I STILL get confused about where things are, since it doesn't seem to be quite the same as other larger Tescos. It took me far too long to find tea bags in here for the office the other week, since a lot of the aisles aren't very clearly marked with what's actually in them, and I sometimes find the order of them doesn't entirely make sense. (Yes, I could have asked a member of staff but I need to be practically tearing my hair out to resort to that, I'm stubborn and I get a sad sense of achievement when I manage to find things myself.) I much prefer it to the other 2 giant supermarkets in the area - ASDA and Morrisons - as it's a lot more well stocked and less chaotic than the others. The staff are generally nice and friendly too, special mention goes to the older guy who works at the self-scan tills as he is always so ridiculously cheery and efficient when you need help, something I value when I'm dashing to the shops during my 30 min lunch break! But the most wondrous thing about this particular Tesco is that it has a KRISPY KREME CABINET. Yes, Nic's NYC Deli make far better doughnuts and yes, getting them from a cabinet is never the same as getting them from a shop, but if I've had a particularly mince day (or even if I've had a great day but I've decided to be a piggy) then it's good to know that Tesco Alloa will provide me with some KK doughnutty goodness.
