This is an absolutely gorgeous little
boutique, but I think the rooms were designed with a lack of functionality. The beautiful bathroom is encased in glass with only a sheer curtain for privacy, but the toilet is out in the open and I doubt that even the closest couples don't appreciate this complete lack of privacy. The bathtub is extremely slippery without any safe ways to get out. As hard as I tried to be careful, I still slipped and bruised my inner arm (which is now a deep shade of purple), defeating the purpose of relaxation. The room is essentially a turret, and at night I kept bumping into the slanted ceiling every time I would try to maneuver around the bed. Add another bruise to my shoulder. Furthermore, the room I selected (and was excitedly anticipating) was given away and we didn't get to enjoy our morning coffee on the terrace as originally planned. Interestingly, when I tried booking it (after arrival) on Hotels.com, that exact type of room was still showing available although the front desk assured me that it wasn't. We kept being told that the manager would address this mishap, but everyday the manager was not there. On Sunday, we found out the manager is actually not on site on the weekends despite the staff promising us their services.
Additionally, our room faced Byhaven, which is a fun music venue, but not so fun when you're trying to sleep. We were also supposed to get breakfast, beverage credit and a late check-out, none of which we received. The only saving grace was Bettina at the front desk, who tried her best to make our stay a little more pleasant.
All in all, a beautifully designed but impractical hotel, with poor execution of some of the amenities and very loud at night is your room faces Byhaven. read more
