Driving on Grant I've noticed this mural before. Today I stopped and took some pictures and try to find a little information about it on the web. I wasn't able to find out much, but they are beautiful murals. I do think they've recently been touched up, but I can't be positive of that. Located on the side of the Asarese-Matters community center. read more

Thanks to the Buffalo photo blog I have found out it's name which is a Black Rock Mural. Wilson Stephens painted it. It's got a few landmarks, Niagara Falls being the obvious one, but also Squaw Island. Both may have been part of the underground railroad.

This building was an eyesore and the neighborhood must be thrilled that at least now there's some art on it. And it's eye catching given the location of this building - where Busti and Niagara meet. The mural makes a nod to the use and ownership of the building.

I was told about this mural by someone on fb. I would never have seen it potherwise, as its not on…read morea main road, or not a mian one for me anyway. But its the entire side of a standalone building, and its great, espically for a Dr office that caters to kids. Well done. Gretchen Weidner is the artist.
