He said, $200 for labor. $175 for cheaper springs and $250 for good ones. I said, ' so, it is $375 for the cheaper springs replace'. He said, ' yes, if you want one spring changed only. it will be $550 to change both.' I was silent... giving him time to tell me that it is definitely not a good idea to change only one spring! He did not say anything. I was very sure then that this guy is not trustworthy. So I said this price is over my budget and I am going to get other quotes. He immediately said ' there are cheaper springs that I can do for $375. But the springs are not good, made in China, and will break very soon.'.... ... When the serviceman arrived he sounded very competent. He immediately found the problem and explained it was caused by a broken gear and missing cable. So far so good. The issues started when he suggested we need to replace the opener. He indicated he had 3 options ranging in price from $1200 to $3600 plus $450 for installation. (We knew they sell for $250-$500 at Home Depot.) When we indicated we needed to look around, he then suggested he could fix our existing one for $550. When we hesitated he said he could do it for $450. We should have said no, but we accepted his offer knowing he tried to rip us off for the full install. Fortunately the service guy was knowledgeable and fixed the problem within 30 minutes. To me, $450 for a 30 minute repair is outrageous. We will not be calling back and suggest you be very careful if you decide to try this company.
