My husband and I had massages here this afternoon. His was good, mine was terrible. The owner/manager gave me my massage. She tried to press us into deep tissue massages for an extra cost which we said no to. She told us that the relaxation massage was going to be very very light touch-not what we wanted. We said we wanted relaxation massages. The reason we requested relaxation massages ...is because we wanted relaxation massages. I know my body better than the owner of this massage place. My body locks up under deep tissue pressure massages but relaxes greatly with gentler touch. She decided that that was not what I needed so she gave me a deep tissue massage. I told her on multiple occasions it was too much and she would back off for a few minutes and then go back into a deep tissue massage. My husband left a tip. Our understanding of a tip it is that it is based on what you perceive to be the appreciation and value of the services you received. She came out and told him that his tip was too low and demanded another $20 which he paid. When I came out of the restroom she told me that what I needed was a deep tissue massage not a relaxation massage so that is what she provided me with. NO THANK YOU!!! Again the reason I requested a relaxation massage is that I wanted a relaxation massage. We will not be back. If you read the reviews on multiple platforms you will find this is the story over and over again. The owner demands more money and tells you what your body needs because she knows. Huh!?! read more

We came here recently and the massage was good. You will have to speak up and let your masseuse know if the pressure is too much or too little though. Massaging with your elbows is very uncomfortable. I wish my feet were included in the massage for the ridiculous amount i paid. I wish this place knew what essential diffused oils are and it would be nice if they played some earthy sounds like running streams, rain forest or just rain even. What I didn't care for was the "surprise pricing" that the manager clearly refused for us to take a picture of. Get ready to get charged an extra $10 just for using your credit card here and they have a sign on the front desk where you are required to leave a minimum of a 20% tip. Went for a couples massage today. We had just traveled by car from NH and were pretty stiff and cranky(!) Was beyond wonderful! My husband has cronic back pain and was thrilled to get some relief. He asked his therapist to come home with him! I had a relaxing massage ( his was deep tissue) and it was just that. Location was a bit difficult to locate, but probably we arent residents, and don't know the island well. Once we found it ,we were treated professionally and pleasantly. Made an appointment with a gift certificate my 15 year old daughter spent her hard earned money on last September for my birthday, knowing that we are an incedibly busy family with work, school (both my daughte and myself full time as well as full time work) and sports. I saved the QR code for the gift certificate and finally was able to schedule an appointment - albeit 8 months later. Only to be called and told the gift certificate expired 2 months after purchase - nothing about this on the website (I have even asked them to send me the passage that says this). The owner or whoever has been conversing with me has called me rude for asking me either show me this policy or honor the gift certificate, and telling me I should apologize to my daughter for not using her card sooner - which 1) I already have and 2) never in a million years thought I would not be able to use it within a year like most gift cards. Don't know why they are being rude to ME - they have $100 for never performing any services, which is all I wanted. Will never use this spa or recommend it! I'll start by saying the place seemed very clean. The owner seemed very friendly as well at first. I paid $78 for what she told me was a 60 minute acupressure session, plus $13 tip and then a $5 charge to use my credit card. She was very specific and telling me the massage was 45 minutes for your body and an additional 15 for your feet equaling 60 minutes. The therapist was finished with my session after 50 minutes. (For context, I paid ahead of time...my receipt was timestamped 2:13 so didn't start til my intended time of 2:15, and the time when I was done was 3:04). I realize most places work on a 50 minute hour, but because the owner specifically explained it was 60 minutes I really felt jipped. I did try to ask her about it after my session and she either wasn't understanding what I was saying or was just unwilling to admit that my massage was cut 10 minutes short. Although clean, it is in a room with a few other beds and is open to the sounds of the rest of the establishment, such as phone ringing, other customers talking to the front desk, etc. Session itself was just okay to be honest. It was more of a super rough rub down with some pushing and pressing that covered only the back side of my body. Pretty sure there are acupressure points on the front side too.. She gave me a bottle of water at the end as well as a $10 off coupon for next time. I don't think I'll be returning. read more

I just had an upper back massage by Peter at Sunny Spa next to OKKO and it was amazing! I would classify it as deep tissue... similar to a theragun but BETTER because he could feel where all my knots were. When he finished I wanted to hug him . Angela, the front desk help, was also extremely helpful when making the appts (my husband scheduled a foot massage) and was totally gracious when I came in solo because hubby could not make the appt. One of the best massages I've ever had! If you like deep tissue massage with Chinese reflexology, this is a great place. I have lots of knots in my neck and shoulders, and Peter found all of them and used his elbows and knuckles to pinpoint them all with strong pressure. Many masseuses have told me my shoulders are so knotted up and tense that I'm hard to massage, but I felt so much relief after this massage. I also appreciated that they scrubbed off the massage oils with a hot towel at the end, so I didn't feel like I needed to go rinse off in a shower afterwards. read more

Pointed to sign that suggest 20% tip. Asked you no like massage? I was embarrassed. I'm usually a great tipper. But who got the $100 I paid? $20 an hour is more than most people on this island make. It took me a little while to recover from my experience here. I need to state that this was the worst massage I've ever had in my life. Outside of just mediocrity in skill (imagine paying your SO $80 to rub your back with cold oil) I have to state that I was put into a very uncomfortable situation. The lady first started the massage by pressing her large stomach against my head with little regard. However it gets worse, she gets on the table and straddled the back of my head with her thighs while rubbing my back. I was disgusted. It was a couples massage and my wife seemed to get someone at least professional enough who would just laugh when she said the massage was too rough, however I have no idea what I ended up with besides dread. So I went to Sunny Spa in Hilton Head with my mom bc she's visiting me and I will say I am never going back!!! They first charged the card $15 fee just for using a debit card. Then when we got done she was like "you give me tip" and we were like okay we planned on it but it was four of us, one was 12 years old, my sister and we gave her like $30 tip and she looked at us and said not enough? Four people and counted us and looked confused and said "only $30 tip? no". First of all lady I did not have to give you a tip at all, yes it's nice and it's courtesy but be happy we have you a tip. Very rough on my mom and sister as well. I was there with my daughter in vacation during Memorial Day weekend. We booked a 90 min massage and a facial. Which should have taken 2 1/2 hrs. 90 min massage then a 1 hr facial. The room was air conditioned but they only gave us a towel to cover up with and with being naked underneath that wasn't enough and my limbs were ice cold therefore I couldn't relax then they incorporated the facial within the 90 min massage. I didn't even have my feet done? They had facial steamers in the room and all they did was put cleanser on our face rinsed a COLD rag to wash it off and massaged some facial cream in next? Worst facial I have ever received I was already cold and they used cold water for the facial, they never used the steamer for your face or removed blackheads....total false. When it came time to tip....mind you I paid already ahead with cash the woman had the audacity to say I wasn't giving her enough tip Wow! I said I give what I feel was appropriate for the service. Mind you I was in the salon/spa business for over 30 years so I know better. Because my daughter was with me I didn't want to cause a scene so I tipped more but even though I will return to Hilton Head I will NEVER go there again and I suggest unless you don't care about how you are served you shouldn't go here for ANY service.
